  1. My thought exactly. Any paddle would seem to be a bad choice on hard pack. i would think a tire for a micro sprint (not sure of brand or series) would be a better choice. i would think you would be setup close to asphalt. any pictures of this mystical place?
  2. Never even thought about it till now. always ran the zerk to the rear so i could access it. I have always adjusted down. your idea makes since to have it tighten as it turn in case it slipped in the tube. ive yet to have one slip or lose a chain in 10 years though. dont think it matters that much. jja are almost 200
  3. im under the impression that the 10mill is the largest casting in the cub serval wampus series. the 14mill version uses a different piston and recessed dome.i own a 14 cub and it has same casting marks as a 10 mil. i would think that you could do a 14 serval.
  4. Remove old spring, install new hd version. not the best way though. look into lockup clutches
  5. Disclaimer~ i am not a professional builder this is my opinion only it is not a static cylinder pressure your after. I would expect the compression ratio to be between 14:1 -17:1 depending on how much of a supercharging effect you get from your set of pipes(not sure how to figure that out). the optimal squish velocity is based off dynamic compression as far as i understand. I think that even though static compression is lower in a ported engine the dynamic is higher due to the pipie pushing it back into the cyllinder. hope that made sense.
  6. Put suspension related topics in the suspension section. just a thought.
  7. You have something to fool the ecm about the modded exh? could be part or the problem. look for transynd for your atf. should just be due for service now. First part couldve been caused by convertor drainback, search for a tsb on that. second part could be fuel retriction. good luck.
  8. So i reread the op. rippers on hard pack dirt? would that ever work?
  9. Pretty sure swingarm angle is more important than lower frame angle. also tire ro affects frame height so doubt a measurement to the floor would help.
  10. So whats the best non std style basket? not looking for a 10plate but it will need to hold way more than 75hp
  11. Wouldnt you want to run a 6bolt banshee hub for more strength? seems like the whole point in the upgrade would be to make it stronger. how much power can you run through a honda hub. i understand its used to get certain sizes put wouldnt you be better off with different primaries?
  12. Youd be money ahead to get that cub from jmad
  13. Sell it and get a poly one. you want it to absorb the shock of the chain when it wads up. the billet ones dont help
  14. You stated you had long rod crank and piston but never said what stroke. then asked about stroker domes. are you changing from lr to 4mil? why would a 64.5 piston fit in a 64.25 hole? you need to do some measuring or send it to a banshee specialist
  15. propane has been legal in cars for years. not sure what your last comment was about.
  16. With stroke and bb sleeves you could get close but its not even something to consider anymore. after market cylinders have made that concept obsolete
  17. Whatcha building? msd trigger or triple flywheel??
  18. Im positive the gears stay the same. not sure if it would be worth it to have your drum modded again or just have another one cut. i know you would need a different star for sure. you can make it 2-5 n down just by removing first if you dont use it.
  19. Most dont think about safety until they have had a near miss. i know that now i look at it differently. As a hill racer i never run all the way to the top anymore. i pick a point that gives me room to get out of a situation if one comes up. Also as bad as it sounds im mentally prepped to abandon ship if need be. lastly minor things like front brakes are being installed on bigger builds. sorry to sidetrack about safety but its very important to me. Question to the op, is the reason for nitro just the challenge of running it or are you trying to get competative
  20. I was of the same mindset years ago. always thought i needed more power. tried nitro at 20% in my short time using it it cost me 1 topend. but it can get bad fast. a nitro engine needs an air shutoff. i had a slide stick wide open and was unable to kill the motor. I assume the plug strap was acting as a glow plug cause i had the plug wires removed and it was still going. Had to turn off the fuel and wait it out as i couldnt get the filter off. luckily i had felt something was odd and got it to n in time. imagine this happening at speed in a limited space. im positive the op is all talk. but for anyone else wanting to try this look heavily into fuel and air shutoff systems. btw with chassis and tire changes i went faster than with fuel.
  21. Buy oem. it only has threads on the outer edge. otherwise you will destroy the frame tab
  22. These look great. could you bore them to shave weight yet retain strength?
