  1. Buy some large harbor freight calipers so you can measure cylinders,check stroke etc. Between measurements and pictures a few on here can tell you exactly what you've got. If you have'nt pissed em all off already
  2. If your staying with stock cylinders look for some on the stock bore before paying for porting. You want as many bores left as possible after you pay for porting. Just get a stock head cut and rechambered.
  3. Your gonna have fuel range issues in idaho with a built motor. Desert tank or jds can mount should be factored in also.
  4. You kept mentioning compression was low on right side. Was this figured out from a gauge reading or from less exh pressure from the tail pipe? The choke tube will cause the second symptom.ride this setup and learn about banshees for at least 1 season before doing anything else. That way you can make informed desicions.
  5. Choke tube installed? Float bowls on correct sides?
  6. Tried a single kill switch wired as stated above and it never worked for me. Thought about diodes but havent tried it yet.
  7. Pics of coils. Lets see if you even will get it running to need a kill switch first. The pvl everyone is refering to is the ign system that is installed on you motor.

  9. If it needs to come apart again get a pancake bearing setup so you wont be dealing with the clutch again for awhile
  10. Buy a new harness. You probably need a new one anyway. Ohm testing the harness only checks for broken or high corrosion connections. It does not check for partially broken wires and connections that cant carry a load. You need to check voltage drop for that. Harness is cheap and its usually the issue in my experience

  12. Gear ratios are usually not dialed in on street bike based builds. Just my .02
  13. Subscribed. Been thinking about how much leaking pipe orings would affect jetting. I have a similar issue myself and was trying to rule out all posibilities
  14. On the title is frame and engine number. How do you know the cases are not attached to a vin that's stolen?
  15. 165 compression .065 squish 10mm band width 74.5 bore 201degrees exh duration on a 70mm stroke. Never measured dome cc after cutting. Not what i wanted but its what i got and havent had time to get it back apart.Need to cut another set of domes and tighten up the squish.
  16. Do not cut those fenders. No matter how cool you think it might look. Full fenders that clean are impossible to find. i've never looked at it that way but i to am an addict.
  17. That will do it. If i remember right mccoy built a 18dmx years ago that ran 98 in fallon on its first day out. That motor should be 165-170 hp pretty easy. I think your 2 short on the frame at a plus 12. If your stuck on stellar i bet tim would rec slightly longer. What hill you aiming for?
  18. Open up the top case for the larger bore size. Supers are 72-73.5 i think
  19. Alright then see if you can get a hs chassis built for a 18dmx. Like a 16 front 12 rear with fox shocks. 48lectrons cp dual inlet big bowls 2 pumps etc. Custom shearers built to motor.

  22. Paper gasket? these come with a large rubber one normally. ddid you seal the threads from the valve to mounting plate?
  23. what ratio primaries? this affects the possibility of kickstarting a big motor as well.
  24. Better have them install it. if not centered up will cause balance issued. if its for a 817dmx that will kick start once dialed in properly. you just cant pussy foot it.
