  1. Clutches slip due to total load on an engine. If an engine has less power than clutch it stalls. If it has more power than clutch it slips. How much tire, what size arm, bike weight and realistic hp figures all come into play. I would guess a 421 with a plus 10 and 12-14 paddle could use stock springs with around 15 grams per arm. also would depend on sand fluffy or wet.
  2. If i read this right its og against the world. Not just a bike from green. I also got the impression og was not interested at $5-600 I wonder what he thinks losing his pride is worth?
  3. Will work just fine. Go for it
  4. Thank you for clearing that up. I was trying to figure out how you got that much mass in that small of a space.
  5. In that case does the 60 grams referenced earlier seem excessive to anyone else. Just the nut and bolt is around 10 gram.
  6. Dumb ? But when referencing arm weights do most people include the weight of the arm. And is it total or each arm?
  7. I would guess that they are not tuning the lockup on a 7 plate. I bet they are just using the weight to add more plate pressure. Just my .02, if your gonna try and tune in any kind of slippage get an 8 plate. If your not tuning the clutch just run a 7 with some weight.
  8. Plus this way hopefully pipe fitment and choices will be better along with better cooling
  9. Im pretty sure thats the idea. Please clarify it a little bit. Im interested but not totally sold. From what i gather it will be banshee appearance with current yfzr suspension and banshee motor. It would be nice to use as much current production stuff as possible. Please confirm the design and update when you have the projected cost and included parts
  10. Is one of the rear linkages a warrior setup? 1 looks longer than the other
  11. Id be willing to bet the adapter plate was not true since day 1. This engine was built on the assembly line just like all the rest. Some builders attention to detail is not what most would expect. But then again it ran and made decent numbers. You average joe probably wouldve been okay with it. Its sad but the post og made about building the same motor at 2 different prices seems true everywhere. He just had the balls to say it up front. Not a practice i agree with but its something ive been aware of for awhile Hope you get it sorted out soon
  12. It had this regulator with it and seems to be a floated ground version. Im interested in converting a dual output stator is why i asked about that type.
  13. Ive done some reading about floated ground dc conversions and have ? a standard ho stator has 2 ouputs plus the ground and a floated ground stator with the oe stator ground wire left intact to ground the engine look very similar. Its my understanding the ho stator will show continuity to grd and the floated one will not have continuity to ground but will between the output legs. If that is correct when you float a ho stator do you add 2 wires and run 2 regulator/rectifiers? Anybody seen a ho single output floated ground version like this
  14. Please explain the adapter plate issue. Do you feel it was never true, or had become distorted somehow and your .020 is to flatten it out.
  15. I know this is a banshee forum and im probably gonna catch hell for this but what about a newer ktm 250 or 300 motor. Low to mid 50 hp stock i believe.
  16. So i guess the question is would a yfz chassis with ktm be better than an outlaw chassis banshee motor.
  17. Is the outlaw chassis any better than a newer yfz? Does lonestar still build outlaws or not?
  18. You've obviously not stalled in the middle of a long steep hill. Usually happens a few feet after a real bad section so rolling backwards is not a good option. Front brakes don't hold shit. You have to grab the fronts, apply rears with your right foot and kick start with your left. Hoping you don't slide back to much the whole time. I would sacrifice a little weight for push button starts any day.
  19. I would think the ktm 300 in a laegers or lonestar chassis would be cool. Looks like they had electric start on some. Maybe registered user could elaborate on ktm facts. What year bike would be could to buy for a donor? What model mxc, exc.
  20. All prices shipped you pay fees or gift your choice bar clamp $20 stock carb pod filters with outerwears.
