Did you see my shift shaft video? I called fast and bought a new shaft that's modded. Going to put my old one back in for this weekend. Adam
-
I would do 4mil crank, port matching, shift star or shift shaft mod. Cool head with domes for elevation. Air box with K&N power lid + K&N Filter. You are going to trail ride in wet areas in WV so pod filters will not be a good idea. Vforce 3 reeds. What type of pipes will you run? You can sandblast the cases. I personally would only do the outside. put the cases together and blast away. Stay away from the crank bearing areas, and clean the cases until you are sick of cleaning them then clean some more to get the sand out. Its fine sand and will hurt the motor. There is a manual download at the bottom of my post or its located in the tech info section Adam

Thanks, I placed an order for the modded shaft from Jeff at FAST. I should be good just wondering if that is wear causing the bike to not want to shift under load. It's a stock bike with pipes. Adam

What do you guys think? Adam

Check the pick up clearance. See how far it's out. It should b .020. When te motor spins fast th magnetic field gets bigger and it would do that. Adam

Finally had a chance to tear it up a little :)
ticktock replied to troyzstang's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Yup a great time. We had a lot of fun. The Raptor has intake, power commander, full exhaust. While the Raptor had us all on the holeshot, we killed me on top. We should have lined them all up for a group photo Adam -
Going riding what tools are needed?
ticktock replied to tarmacsti's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I bring my craftsman 200 piece tool box. It contains wrenches and sockets. I also bring screw drivers and a metric allen key set. Extra plugs and gas. Other than that it's a major repair and I'm prolly going to want to do it in the garage! Adam -
WORTH A READ.. WEAR YOUR TETHERS!
ticktock replied to n2otoofast4u's topic in General Banshee Discussion
All I can say is wow! I cringed at the fact that the track more than likely had 192 + studs. I have seem some pretty nasty in the war, and thankfully everyone had Fentanyl or something similar. More than likely these guys had some good first aid knowledge and were able to act fast and quickly. It is a miracle that he lived, had there been no first aid it would not have turned out. I never wore the tether on my snowmobiles and our tracks were studded, I should have one for the banshee now to think about it. Adam -

Anybody tell me why this top case would be jb welded here?
ticktock replied to edgehanger's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
It looks to me that it was completely JB welded at one time. Unless that motor has been sitting for years, the pictures have some stains on that second oil journal and it looks like the epoxy is partially chipped off on both sides. Maybe im wrong because the hole is not completely filled up, but who knows. Pretty awesome if you ask me! Why did it run crappy and like a stocker? Look at the quality of work. You are going to have to cut those pistons and the wristpins to get them out. Nice welds, they didn't break off like the JB weld. I cant believe someone would do that to an 800 dollar crank!! Damn Drug Dealers Adam -
Ya 75 lbs sounds close. Unless you purchased more than a motor. It sounds very scam like to me. Email or call 1 more Time an tell him your going to pull your payment. To hell with deadbeat sellers!! Adam

It's not bad to rebuild. Keep things clean, install clean parts start clean you will be fine When I do a rebuild I normally pull the motor. I plug the intakes, exhaust and I take the motor to the car wash and pressure wash it to remove all the crap. Then I take it to the hobby shop (I am in the military and most bases have a spot to work on cars for a nominal fee, they furnish a place to work and tools) and I use the solvent tank and clean it up more removing everything. Then I disassemble the motor and I like to bag all my nuts, bolts parts and label them. Clean everything again, make repairs and assemble. Cleanliness is next to godliness!! Haha There is a lot of knowledge here from professionals to backyard builders and everyone likes to talk and help! Adam

There are a million ways to breakin. Everyone's way is the best. Years ago I was told: Start the motor and let it warm up. Go go a cruise varying the throttle from 0-1/4. Shut it down after it is at operating temp. Let the motor cool down completely. Start the motor let it warm up vary throttle from 0-1/2 but not too aggressively. Let the bike come to full operating temp. Shut down and allow to fully cool again Start the motor and let it warm up. Again vary the throttle from 0-wot until operating temp. Ride until operating temp and shut Dow again allow to cool completely. Retorque head. I have not had problems and I get a lot of life from my motor. If you changed nothing check jetting always. I do not run any different mixture than I run when normally riding a motor that is broken in. These heat cycles take maybe 15 minutes you are just trying to get the piston skirts to hardent and allow the rings to match the bore. Don't ride it like you stole it and always allow the motor to come to temp and you will have a long lasting motor AdaM

Black"spooge" coming out of exhaust
ticktock replied to emtbanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Is the oil coming out just on the right side exhaust? Is one plug darker than the other. Does the Crank Case use oil, is there extreme smoke on one side, Blue, Black, White. Does it bog at Wide Open Throttle (WOT) does it bog 0 - 1/4 Thrott. Everyone here wants to help, we all hate to see machines that do not run or had a life of improper care. Its winter in Michigan, Air is colder, fuel/air ratio changes, you are under 1000ft elevation. Normally when the fuel runs out it will rev a little higher. Carb Sync Video If it has a twist throttle maybe the carbs are out of sync. Check out this video, there are a couple more video's that go more in depth on youtube. This will answer a few questions. Quick update and again Honest seller. Purchased a 250R A-Arm. When he went to ship the parts, noticed the ball joint threads were messed up and castle nut would not screw on. Offered to ship or refund part. Great guy to make sure the parts he was shipping with in usable condition. Thank you! Adam
-
I have used ABF to ship. Have to drain fluids, build a pallet but they are fast and cheap. If you do station to station is where you save money. USHIP you can add in your own price of what you want to pay and then let others bid on your shipment. Its free, shippers pay the premium to see the freight. Adam
