  1. Ball bearing isn't missing is it?
  2. i used a newer CDI on my older banshee...i just used a terminal tool...popped terminals out of one of the plugs and put the older end on newer box...1 plug is the same and the other is a little differant...been running it for a while with no issues....no cuts at all...looks just like a factory plug end
  3. I tried high temp paint and it was fine besides the fact mud would hit pipes and stain them...I powder coatem them with high temp powder and they have been five since...I would definitely go powder...worth the money
  4. Sup guys! Anyone know where you can obtain older graphics? I'm looking for fender graphics for a 92 (white/pink/teal) and fender graphics for a 95 (purple/yellow) I'd be happy if even someone had a overhead picture of the front fender graphics from either and i can have my vinyl guy and have him custom make them... thanks for looking
  5. I don't need seven years....but 80 hours seemed a little low...
  6. Gonna have to give a lot more info than that...there is an informative thread all about jetting in the jetting area
  7. I would imagine I'm pushing 50 with mods no? But yeah like I said we do a lot of woods and coal strippins and since the wife and the kid I don't go after the monster hills anymore...I also like the fuel mileage of it semi modded... But anyway..... Real cause of the wiped out top end was the milling of the head was too much and had the squish point at thirteen thousandths...obviously we all know that is way to low...I did not know a lot about the squish point but with some research I have a pretty good grip in it now... I guess this is how we learn.... Thank you all for your help..much appreciated!
  8. MSC Tool is a tool and part company based out of Pennsylvania USA....you can find them online and what i was saying is if you want to run the isolators there is a duplicate that you can get to make it right.... heaven forbid i should answer the guys question hell just weld the exhaust solid to your frame...problem solved
  9. It also comes down to what you do with your quad...I like to have power but I also enjoy gas mileage and all around fun..over here in PA we have nothing but hillclimbs and trails so we do a little differant riding than the dunes guys do...so thinking about it I guess everyone's ambitions are a little differant...I did however find my problem as far as I know and it comes down to the milling of cylinder head...pics to follow...thanks for all the input..just keep in mind everyone has a differant riding condition and not everyone can ride from the truck to a dune a quarter mile away and rip hills...we have to ride 10 miles to fetch a hill sometimes...thanks again
  10. The head hadn't changed at all...look like that before I put it on...I would imagine if I had any detonation that it would also be on the pistons...I did change jetting and I did work my way down from a 185...I guess I didn't do my homework on the pistons because if I can only get 80 hours on Vito's and 7 GOOD years on factory then I should should just back off and go back to basics...thank you for all the input...
  11. Msc tools part number...03533783...exact same thing as factory isolator....let me know if u can't find or order it
  12. Msc tool has the vibration isolators for I think 4 bucks a piece...I will get you the part number tonight when I get home...ill also show pic of how I mounted light...I have old style and the isolators are a must
  13. haha..thanks babe... waterpump checks out fine octane is 93 elevation roughly 900 im gonna check trueness on jugs and cyl head tonight.... shop that decked head used a mill to do it...could that have been a no no?
  14. Rebuilt top end using vitos super stock pistons. Jugs were bored 20 over. Head was shaved 20 thousandths. Put together with all new gaskets that were supplied with the vitos kit. Torqued everything to factory specs. Proper break in period and retorqued after break in. Roughly 5 hours after rebuild had small amount of coolant push from over flow hose. This happened a few times but coolant was checked and it had not dropped all that much. Noticed after cool down quad took 3-4 kicks more than normal to start, normally it starts on the first kick. Quad was running well then lost all power and shut off. Judging by the pictures i feel as if compression leaked into cooling system and boiled coolant. Is this something anyone has heard of? Or does anyone have any insight as to what might have occurred. Below is bike specs 20 over Head shaved 20 thousandths B8ES plugs Timing 2 degrees Pickup set at 18 thousandths gap Trinity 2 into 1 Prodesign foam filter with airbox lid on Dmc 916 exhaust Vf3 Pwk35 carb 175 main 48 pilot DEK needle Center clip Klotz supertechniplate 36:1 Air screw 1.5 turns After roughly 10 hours on rebuild Link to album https://picasaweb.google.com/103182486397669436026/BansheeGoBoom?authkey=Gv1sRgCLjRzfCN8cGgAQ
  15. Sorry about that...its a DEK needle...
  16. whats going on? ive done some searches but i'm coming up empty...bought a set of vito's super stock pistons and im wondering if anyone has any ideas as to how far to go with the jetting from where i am now...i am not changing anything besides the pistons and a 20 over bore...any help on jetting upgrade would be most apriciated..below is a list of current settings on the bike..vito's said 185 but from what im hearing is their not the best for advice in that department...thanks guys current jetting is... 53 pilot 168 main needle clip in center mods... DMC 916 exhaust 2 into 1 pwk 35 mm GYT-R CDI head shaved .40 foam filter with lid on box VF3 reeds 800-1000 elevation thanks again...
  17. just did the petals in mine after a year and a half.... opening and closing 133 per second at 8k rpm will take a toll but that seems a little premature
  18. thanks guys! loosened the bolts and it dropped an inch on its own...tightened everything to factory specs..all good thanks again!
  19. they look exactly the way they did when they left..haha... my other banshee with stock suspension is only a half inch shorter eye to eye but sits 1.5 inches lower... maybe the new wheels being differant offset are not letting bike drop as much? i came from factory wheels to 4/1 hiper...any thoughts on that?
  20. hey guys have a quick question about the height of my banshee raising 2 inches in the front after the following were replaced... powedercoated following... A Arms works springs hubs rotors spindels tie rods parts replaced A Arm bushings front bearings I also went to a set of hiper wheels..4/1 offset everything is freshly greased but i havnt physicly ridden the bike yet nor have i jounced the suspension much but my question is this something that will settle down a bit after it is riden for a couple days? also my shocks are works shocks and measure 14.5 eye to eye any help would be appriciated as i have a trip this weekend id like to rip this thing....
