  1. are you postive its going to just be for trails? if so what kind of trails? like wide open ? fast paced? rocky? muddy? alot will depend on your budget. have you checked your local craigslist adds for banshees? i would start there. you can always change the color of the frame and the pastics so dont get hung up on that. i picked up another one about a month ago for 850. swapped out some parts i had and runs mint. deals are def out there you gotta search for them
  2. welcome and enjoy the forum. pics of the shee when you get a chance. like tlyer said you will find all your parts on the site
  3. like the others said twist and thumb both have there good spots however i dont feel like im riding a quad if it has a twist throttle. my buddy has one, its alright but i perfer thumb
  4. x2. if you see water go slowly through it if you have to... as long as its its not too deep you will be fine/ try keep one side of the tires out ect. you will have to rejet and the pods clean up the bike very nice. makes tuning easier to access too
  5. excellent review sandofsun. honest and to the point. we need more threads like this
  6. welcome and enjoy the forum. try to keep one thing in mind..... the more $ you spend the more you will get out of it for the most part. im not saying you cant build a nice powerful bike with a decent amount but h.p. and performance takes $$$ however there are some nice cheap mods that give you some good boosts like a adjustable timing plate, porting ect. like the others said you have to choose what you want the bike to do and then you can go from there. some back ground on your riding time/experience will help. be warned though..... this sport is expensive and very addicting! you can go as wild as you want depending on $
  7. once i saw the stickers on the fenders it was a dead give away that it was a serious drag banshee!
  8. never used straps on mine in the back of my truck. just the gas turned off and put in first gear. on a flat bed however i would put it around something solid ( foot pegs, frame, carrier ect ect) which everyone keeps it in place and gives you a piece of mind
  9. prob the shift forks or shift shaft. if you dont have the shift star mod done i would do it while your down there
  10. u can get a nice ported 4 mil for 1500. however you gotta figure out what caused this damage in the first place so it does not happen again
  11. you know your shock is fucked when it wont come back up after you push the suspension down
  12. i would wait. that bike is not worth it imo. i just picked up a another shee for 850 with alot of extras. bike didnt run all that great when i first got it but had excellent compression, good spark and i knew it was just a air leak issue. didnt spend a dime since i had newish used intake boots from my other shee. swapped out the parts. boom bike started first kick and ran mint. the guy didnt know what he had but thats my gain keep looking you will find a much better shee for the $ u were going to spend
  13. if im correct it will look just like small bore shearers would in a stock frame except they are big bore pipes and wont have fitting issues i believe. bigred can give more feedback on them. he had em in his 485pv that he sold. bump for a good price. why r u selling the pipes?
  14. Take pics of the other side of the plugs too. ( flip em over)
  15. what was your setup before this? did the bike run good before you went 421? have you tried different carbs? i hear 34pjs are sometimes tempermental. not saying this is gonna fix it but your saying even in first gear if you punch it the bike just dies?
  16. i love me some "tummy exhaust" in the morning
  17. shearers, cpi, or sniper smallbore inframes i would go with. save $ for the future as in time you will want more power and the pipes will still work unless you take a huge jump
  18. the tors kit will clean it up very nice and will get ride of the big boxes on top of the carbs. just take your time and go slow and use plenty of oil while making the tap
  19. does it pop start? if you have stock carbs make sure tube between the 2 carbs is connected good. pull choke out and hold it there with hand while kicking
  20. i wait at least 24hrs before even looking at the filter. if in a rush fan will help but it takes time
