  1. I personally like good ol stock gearing. It's the best "all around" gearing in my opinion.
  2. as for 450s I really like that new KTM. I saw one at the dealer the other day. It's so sweet.
  3. I'm in the same boat as you man. I too have done a lot of motor work on V8s and high performance auto motors. I know I coluld handle doing Banshee cylinders but I'd just need to see what exactly is done. I do know that both cylinders have to be the same.
  4. If anybody has theirs on yet give me some feedback.
  5. I love CPIs for trails but I also keep the RPMs up. It's nice to have the CPIs because when it's time to line up for a drag race across a field you are ready!
  6. I'd start by removing the snorkle from your air box. Then you need to deicde what type of riding you do. From there you can decide on what kind of pipes you want. Pipes would be #1 on my list followed by advanced timing, cool head or noss head with smaller domes to bump the compression, K&N (some people don't like them but I love them) and maybe a set of reeds. Once you get the bolt ons you'll need to start considering a nice port job to match your style of riding.
  7. Yea, I'll hit him up first thing Tuesday morning. I can't wait to get my bike back up and running. It's half jetted and still waiting on my pipes to get here.
  8. Drinking a sip of beer or any alcohol for that matter and riding anything is just retarded in my opinion. My 5 year old little girl rides and to think I'm sharing a riding spot with some body who can't leave the beer at home and just go ride and have a good time without it makes me sick. I say drink at the bar, at home or a party and ride at the dunes and in the trails. The two don't mix, I don't care what you're on. As for trading your bike, I say go for it man. Just don't think being on 4 wheels rather than two is more stable and safer to ride with a drink or two in you because it isn't. Be safe and enjoy it if you get it.
  9. I'd go with 20s. I've never had an issue with mine. I'm going to 19s on pump gas.
  10. I'll call you first thing Tuesday man! I tried to call you earlier today but you were already closed. Thanks man!
  11. I run 20s without a problem on pump gas at 740 feet. I'm going with 19s the next time I get a set.
  12. I've been to 3 dealers in my area looking for 27.5 pilots for my 04 Banshee. The first one I had called prior to going there and they said they had 3 of them in stock. So I drive 30 minutes there and they get them and show me and they are not even close to being a Banshee pilot jet. This thing was like 1.25 inches long and was nothing like a pilot. So I ended up leaving there and going to another dealer and it was the same thing, a totally wrong pilot. This dealer employee was pretty cool and asked if I'd like to order some. I agreed to order some and he gets his 3 inch thick catalog out and searcehs for the jets that I need. He looks it up on his computer and agrees that Banshee pilots are a lot smaller than the ones they were trying to sell me but his catalog doesn't have the ones I need and he can't order them because he can't get them. I only need a set of 27.5 pilots for an 04 Banshee with stock Mikuni carbs. Is it really that difficult? LOL.. Who sells these pilots online so I can just order them and be done with these dealers who don't even know what a Banshee is anymore? Here's a picture of the jets that they kept trying to sell me. and here's what the ones I need look like....
  13. This would be idea with the way gas prices are. The only thing that sucks about this is you'd have to fully trust the seller and know what you're buying.
  14. There's a nice 2002 White Banshee in Lexington KY. I know he'll go to at least $2000 on it. He'd probable go lower because he's getting desperate. Here's the link. It comes with pipes too that aren't pictured. http://lexington.craigslist.org/mcy/677415746.html Also, follow ebay. My buddy just won a 2004 White Banshee on there for $2100.
  15. Tell him that you don't want to put a deposit and if he doens't want to play your game then find another one. People can't give away Banshees nowadays, you'll find one for cheap for sure. I found my 04 for $2300.
  16. If you notice the blue one to the far right, my router bit got dull and it kinda melted it's way through that one. If someone wants that one I'll sell it for $5 shipped. A little sanding of the edges and it'd be good to go. Or if your not worried about a little melting on the edge then this is all you.
  17. With such a good turn out on selling these I decided to get some other colors. I made about 20 transparent blue today. I'll also be making solid white, crystal clear, black and maybe red within a week or so. All $8 shipped!
  18. I called Dynojet and talked to their tech. They said I can use regular dealership jets with their needles and he told me where I need to put the clip on the needle. So I'm giving that a shot for now. I can't believe people pay $60-$90 for jet kits. The only thing I see different is new needles.
  19. I'm rejetting my bike for the new pipes and other mods. The previous owner put a dynojet jet kit in it. He also gave me the stock needles when I bought the bike. The Dynojet needles are longer and have more clip positions than the stock needles do. I got on dynojet's website and found diretions on how to use the jet kit. But it says you have to use their main jets. I'm thinking about just putting the stock needles back in it and going with regular ole main jets. What would you do?
  20. Are the pilots marked like the mains are so you can tell what size they are? My bike came with a dynojet jet kit installed in it and I have no idea what's in there. So I am going to tear into it and if there's already 27.5s in there I won't need to change them. FOr some reason though, I want to say that the pilots don't say what they are on them??
