The cutting in and out is the TORS messing up on it. I am 99.9% sure because mine did the same thing. If you go up under the left side under the tank and unplug it this will stop. It's thinking the throttle is stuck open so it cuts it off. As for the WD40, that's an old trick that I do as well. WD40 on the bikes will protect it, make it shiny and mud won't stick to it as well so cleaning it is much easier. I've never put it on my pipes but I do apply it to the plastics and motor. I got the tip here on HQ back in 2001 and have done it every since. I say go for it on that Banshee, it looks nice to me.
