  1. Yes, I'm working on getting the topic's dates fixed. Sorry about that guys! Everyone should try to get donations to sell at the ride. I'm going to send a few emails out explaining the situation and the cause. I'll probably include a link to this thread. Together we can do this guys, but we all need to do our parts. Send emails out, talk to local shops. We do need someone to have ownership of the drag races. If someone wants to take it one step further, contact Wolfe Bros, they can set it all up and even have the lights and all that stuff. Their site is www.wolfebros.com They've put on races there in the past. If we can get them involved and on board with the benefit then they could draw in a lot of racers. But the key is that this must remain a benefit and not an event to fatten their pockets. This race is a race to help a fellow HQ member and his family out. If we can get enough donations we could have a silent auction. If we can get enough items, we can bring the stuff to the benefit ride to raffle off. I've done this in the past for my Wife's uncle and we raised $5,000. We wrote information about the item on a brown lunch bag. We sold raffle tickets and if you wanted a chance at winning that item you put raffle ticket(s) in the bag. At the end of the benefit we drew one ticket from each bag and whoever had the matching number on their ticket wins the item. The only way we could pull something like this off is to get a lot of donations. We could do the auction all day and draw Saturday night. Some items I'd like to get subscription to Dirtwheels T shirts gift cards to places like Rocky Mountain ATV stickers of any kind gear you get the point....
  2. Shoot, yea it's May 16th and 17th. Sorry about that guys! I can call Haspin to see if we can reserve the track and get the lowdown on how that will all work.
  3. I forwarded your pictures of the crank to my buddy who needs it. I'd say he'll take it but let him make that call.
  4. It's pretty safe to say you're not going to get the beads to break with basic hand tools. You'll need a GOOD tire changer. I have a harbor freight one and it took over an hour per tire to break the beads. I've heard the stock wheels with stock dunlops are the hardest to break and that's what I was breaking. I tried all the hillbilly methods (ie driving on them, jacking the truck up on them) and nothing works.
  5. Nice, way to under cut a Banshee HQ member bro. You can have it, I'm not getting in a bidding war. Last time I checked this wasn't ebay.
  6. May 12th and 13th. Memorial Day weekend will be way too busy there so we went with the week before. Well, we got the threads merged so lets plan this benefit ride out!
  7. We need to get donations. My Wife's uncle came down with cancer and we did a benefit dinner for him and raided $5,000 in one night. I will do my part in contacting places like Rocky Mountain ATV, FAST, HERR and who ever else to see about donating whatever they can. Then 100% of the proceeds could go to the cause.... Also, I will see if a Mod here can merge these two threads so we have one Haspin thread.
  8. I tried and it won't let me edit my original topic. But you know I'm down and I think making the Haspin Trip the benefit ride is awesome!
  9. Looking for a stock crank for a friend. Must be in good condition.
  10. Yea, thanks guys. Looks like he'll be buying a used crank..
  11. Yea, that's what I was figuring. How do you get the rods off the stock crank? I see the pin that holds it in. Really, if we could get the one bearing off and get the rod off we could do it ourselves.
  12. Today a friend of mine was borrowing his buddies Banshee and as his luck would have it it blew up. We took it apart and found out the rod bearing on the left side failed. We were thinking that we could get a used crank but really if we can find a shop to rebuild the crank it should be fine. It looks like it just needs rod bearings as the crank and rods look fine. So who can rebuild cranks without raping my buddy?
  13. I plan to replace all the seals and gaskets that I encounter. So this kit http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Bans...sspagenameZWDVW and this kit http://www.farmandsandtoys.com/partdetail.asp?partid=325 What other seals and gaskets will I need?
  14. I'm piecing together parts for my 4 mil build. The new long rod 4 mil crank and wrist pin bearings arrived this morning so I want to get more parts. I want to have everything I need before I tear into the motor. Here's what I know I need -Custom cut domes which I'll be having Jeff at F.A.S.T. set me up with -35mm PWK -intake for the carbs -Throttle cable -Jeff will be porting my cylinders for the 4 mil. At this time I'll see if I can use a STD bore or find out if I need to have it bored. The compression is right where it should be so I'm thinking a hone and STD bore pistons should be fine. -795 series pistons for the size that I need I'm not real sure on seals and all that stuff. What all seals will I need? What have I missed that I'll need?

  18. http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/mcy/1074059628.html I hope something changes and you can keep it! It's a very nice running bike for sure. If you do end up selling it, someone will end up with one heck of a deal! If you decide to part any of it or if you're willing to sell just the paddles let me know. Good luck man, and my family will be praying for your family member with cancer...
  19. So as far as food goes, should we all bring something? I'm bringing my grill to fire up whenever we decide to eat.
  20. Dave have you ever been to Big Rock? It's a 2000 acre park in Maysville KY. It may be over 4 hours from you but it's an awesome place to ride trails and hill climb. It's right along the Ohio river and it's so big you'll easily get lost there. If you ever want to check it out let me know and I'll get my group together to go too. http://www.bigrockoffroadpark.com
