  1. Same thing I see here. Everyone has 4x4s and love to go in the mud. I like the mud too, just not on the Banshee. Sucks man. Do you ride around here any?
  2. I've been around BHQ since the Lee days. Built a few, sold a few and used to eat, sleep and drink riding. After a family and traveling for work (I've been in 5 countries in the past 4 weeks), I've since gotten away from riding as much as I used to. Just over a year ago I built the bike in my sig. I dumped a lot of cash in it and sadly, I've only rode it a couple times to make sure she's running good. I bet I don't even have 2 hours on it! I still have the same 5 gallons of race fuel that I bought for it over a year ago which is crazy when considering I used to burn through triple that in a weekend. It's time for a change, but nobody around here that I know rides anymore! We have Big Rock that closed, Badlands that is 3 hours from me, Haspin that has always been a mud pit and I've never been to Big Maples because I've heard it's a mud pit too. So I'm looking for people that ride in my area. Who lives/rides around SW Ohio?
  3. Does anyone know about this event or when/where it is at? It looks like a good time judging from this video. I'd like to check it out. http://youtu.be/anXYthW-Ims
  4. Is anyone riding this coming Memorial day weekend? When/where? I thought about going to Badlands or Silver Lake. I really want to go to Silver Lake soon, but I still need paddles and sparkies so that may wait. My buddy CB and I were talking about maybe going to Badlands.
  5. As most of you know that followed by build, I recently just finished my "Shadow" project. Well, this bike is not going to be something that will end up taking in the woods and all of that like I originally planned to do. With this much power, I'll surely end up eating a tree for lunch! So I've been kicking around the idea of getting a drag chassis and out of frame pipes. I'm considering trading my small bore Shearers for a set of out of frame Shearers. My pipes are brand new with less than 2 hours on them. They are absolutely mint! I'd consider trading for out of frames in the same condition. I can only do raw or black, no chrome. If I can't find a decent trade, eventually I'll put these up for sale. I don't want any other brand of pipes. Out of frame small bore Shearer only. Thanks fellas!
  6. Killer work! I'll be getting a seat cover for my bike and my wife's 450!
  7. I'd only run cheap paddles there. I've had friends bring them, but I found that my dirt tires did pretty good there. It's not like beach sand at all.
  8. I'm not happy about not making it either guys, but it's out of my control. CB and I have been talking about this for a long time and have been looking forward to it. I didn't steal him from the ride, he opted not to go. This is the first time I've ever had to flake on a ride. I WILL be at the next one.
  9. As luck would have it, something came up which will prevent my wife and I from making the trip to Badlands. Our family was originally going to do Easter on Sunday, but due to conflicts in schedules they are going to do it Saturday instead. We cannot miss this so unfortunately my wife and I won’t be able to make it. I was really looking forward to this especially since it’s been a few years since I’ve ridden with some of you guys. I’ll be keeping an eye on the schedule and be making plans to ride at the next close ride. Sorry guys, you all have fun! I’ll be jealous when I see the pix come in. Also, CB6979 won’t be making it either. He’s planning on joining me Saturday. At least we can ride where we’re doing Easter so he’ll bring his bike out to my family’s house. Ride hard and be safe!
  10. I can’t believe there is nowhere to ride anymore. All I have available is 5 flat acres which is only good for test/tune and we have Haspin Acres which is a muddy rutted up mess. I’m hoping to find some locals with a farm or some land to play around on that isn’t hours away. Surely someone on here has a place near Cincy/Dayton that they play around on legally. LOL
  11. August 16th works for me, but I'd like to try to get there sooner too. That's late in the summer after the kids go back to school. Maybe we can put together a ride sooner too.
  12. Looks like a few of us will be breaking bikes in. I still haven’t ridden mine since I’ve been so busy. It’s going to be nice to get out Saturday! I’m hoping to get on mine Thursday to at least do a shake down before Saturday. Has anyone been watching the forecast? The last I saw, it was supposed to be low 60s and 0% chance of rain. Perfect riding weather and they should run good with the cooler temps.
  13. Gassed cleaned and ready to do this. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  14. Gonna be a good trip! I really need to get out on my bike and tune on it. I'm going to Mexico next week for work, then to Chicago the following week for work. That means I'll have two solid weeks to get it dialed in and I'll be ready. JD, I'm glad you can make it again! I was there the last time you guys came too.
  15. AHHHH Bills. This was my first two sets of pipes many years ago. I will tell you, anyone who buys these pipes won't be disappointed! I'd run them again in a heartbeat if I were building a trail bike! Good buy right here.
  16. He’s using a great welder fully capable of making nice penetrating welds. I’d say he’s okay as long as he took the time to get used to adjusting the heat and wire speed on a few practice parts before he welded up the swinger. We all have to start somewhere. His welds look pretty good for a rookie and I’d say they penetrated nicely. I remember when I first started welding. I was so scared that I wouldn’t have penetrating welds. I started welding on a bagged/body dropped truck frame (frame and four link) with a 450hp motor so I HAD to make sure my welds were strong. I have tons of respect for someone that builds their own stuff rather than making someone else’s pockets fatter. From my observations, people take more time on their own stuff which makes for a better product in the end. I say, beat the crap out of the swinger and keep an eye on it. I’m sure it’ll be just fine.
  17. PC looks great. Have you installed it yet?
  18. Yea, they work. Well the bike fires up and runs. This certainly isn't a complaint. I was simply asking the same thing I asked you in an email about the prong in the coil penetrating the center wire of the spark plug wire. I don't want you to think I was throwing you under the bus, because I wasn't at all. I wouldn't drop the amount of money I do with you if I didn't trust you. In your email response you said that you guys measure, grease the wire ends, push/twist it in, silicone it, zip tie it and go. That's exactly what I did, but the wire simply won't go over the prong in the coil. I'm not some weak little child with no ass and no matter how much I twist/push on the plug wire, the center prong in the coil isn't penetrating the plug wire. The plug wire is too flimsy and pliable to put any real ass behind. It's touching, therefore it's running, but I am concerned about the reliability of it which is why I emailed you and posted here. It would seem that the plug wire would need a better connection than just butted up against the prong. The last thing I want is to drive 14 hours to Little Sahara and my bike fail because of spark plug wires. Once the weather breaks and the fields dry up, I'll get it out and test on it. I am confident that it'll be just fine because you've never steered me wrong, but I wanted to see what others thought too.
  19. Do you still have the carbs? Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  20. I recently cleaned up my harness by removing the TORS wiring. When I did this, I had to do a lot of searching to make sure I was removing the correct wires. If I had this image below, it would have made life a lot easier for me. Basically, you will unwrap your harness, cut these from it, then re-wrap the harness. This is cleaner than just taping off the plugs. This is only the TORS system and nothing more. I hope this helps others out there looking to do the same thing.
  21. Thanks man. I'll just go buy another coil. Nothing like throwing money to the wind. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  22. Tyler, I was actually hoping you’d chime in because in my searches I saw where it says you have ran Taylor Wires? http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=44881 (post #4) I changed them because Jeff at FAST suggested it. In the past I’ve had luck with just swapping out plug caps. Maybe I should’ve stuck with this?
