  1. just spoke to kev on the phone, sending my cyl to him for repairs and will be getiing new parts from him at his cost. i just want it running again

  5. you guys gotta remember that its the rods breaking most of the time, so i would bash to many cranks until you see them snap
  6. and i did not ask for a cheap kit phelps, i asked for a reliable 4mil kit.
  7. i hear ya RRL, i would think that with the bad rep that the 29L/R rod has that it would be changed for a 100hp kit.
  8. not blaming him, i have emailed him and just getting impatient, i told him over the phone a few days ago that i would like him to look at the pictures.

  12. they appear to not have any heat discoloring, if anything the good rod looks hotter
  13. new discovery for the peeps following this, the inner crank bearing on the side that the rod broke is shot. not sure if it was before the explosion or from the explosion.
  14. i think you are right loco, i think the bigger problem is what is actually breaking these cranks and not the cranks themselves, im def not saying that the bronze rods are not junk because they are getting a terrible rep from this thread.
  15. pretty sure HJR does, they will weld any type crank for you as far as i know

  17. compression 135 in each, i was running 2.5 degrees timing also

  19. not happy at all man, spent about $3000 in total for this motor to build it and have it ready for this summer and the rod destryed almost all of it
