  1. you can prolly make money selling the toomeys and PC's and getting SLP.
  2. CPI will be mid to top end pipes, SLP pull just as hard according to the dynos, just the SLP is bottom end through mid, and CPI/shearers or mid-top so this is where it comes down to what type of riding you do.
  3. SLP pull great from bottom. I have SLP and love them, work great on the trails and MX riding. and damn well for the back yard drag racing i do.
  4. when you talk hitting hard, do you want a pipe that has no bottom and end then hits once it gets on the power band it pulls? or did you want something that pulls hard the whole way? a lot of what pipe you run has to do with your motor setup and what type of riding you do. carbs/tuning has a lot to do with it too.
  5. true. toomeys are good pipes but way over rated for what they are.
  6. should have just sent your cylinders to a good person who would bore, port, and give you all the info, and you would know your port is for the type of riding you do.
  7. if the other arms were longer, they were probably sprung for that person with the longer arms which have more leverage to compress them. Best be is to send them to someone and tell them your setup, your weight, and what type of riding you do.
  8. just trying to clear up, they were on your stock a arms, and now on your lonestar, were they just as still on the stock? or you just get the elkas the same time as the lonestar?
  9. if that cylinder isnt firing, you will get smoke, and gas out of that pipe with vary little pressure out the exhaust because it isnt have the "explosion" in the cylinder making that pressure.
  10. if your running stock carbs, yea, i would take them out, only thing they will do is give one more spot for a air leak.
  11. Reed spacers only purpose for the most part is to allow clearance for bigger carbs.
  12. do a plug chop, you are prolly rich on jetting. I know most guys, and myself run 40:1
  13. what ratio are you mixing your fuel at? if it is really rich or has a lot of oil in the ratio it will make it smoke extra. remember it is supposed to smoke a little it is 2 stroke.
  14. i would do a leakdown test, see if you may have pissed off a gasket to suck air. or trans oil.
  15. but it could still be cutting spark if the electronics are all still there.
  16. get something of the PMK series. they seem to be the most consistent.
  17. pretty sure they arent in business anymore.
  18. its supposed to have a tapered cone on the top side between the spindle and the rod end i believe. I have them its been a few years since i put it together, and infact over a year since i rode, but ill try to remember to take a look.
  19. once you are pretty close you dont need to play around unless it is drastic temp/elevation changes.
  20. try adjusting the float first its free, most of the time they are out of adjustment.
  21. once you put it together compression test it and that will tell you which octane you need to run. You have a handful of good parts there. better start then i had for sure. That Trinity setup isnt a bad setup its before trinity really became crappy. should have some good power IMO its just a old school build from before they made aftermarket cylinders etc. The only thing to really check is that the crank is welded. otherwise it will be a pretty good piece. looks like mostly cosmetic issues which can be fixed over time. trust me, if i knew of this site before i bought mine i wouldnt have bought it live and learn, i had a shee, got out of the game, and when i came back had to get one again. more fun to drive then most, especially once you get yourself set up.
  22. Smart move, OEM seems to be the most reliable.
  23. here is my thoughts, if it only does it when you get wet, you have a rub through in your harness. mine had the same problem, got a harness from JDS and it was solved. runsbetter than ever. if it does it when you ride for a while, the coil could be getting hot and starting to fail. If neither of those mattered, make sure your stator isnt all rusty and pickup gap is set correct.
  24. granted i have a 4 mil but i have a trail/mx port, and SLP pipes with pwk 28's for low range, and mine has all the torque you can imagine. and i ride trails and have open fields i rip around on.
  25. depends, if you do it, and the cylinders are in decent shape, prolly 300 bucks.
