  1. do you have the choke tube hooked up?
  2. normally the kits have nylon lock nuts, so you dont have to worry about it rattling loose.
  3. if you dont know about gapping plugs or doing a compession test. you are either going to want to just spend a ton of time just reading on here, or taking it to someone. down in flordia there is this southern performance guy that does good work from what i can tell.
  4. next step in my mind is drain the coolant and pull off the head. see if the piston is damaged.
  5. pretty much. most guys are between 115-130 without any mods depending on a few other factors. im going to say the one piston is toast. only way to confirm it is by pulling the head.
  6. ignition key wont matter, keep both plugs out of the motor, that way it kicks over easier. same with the fuel.
  7. you have the right plug, but he is full of shit on the gaping. most local shops dont know shit about banshee's. The gap is way too large from the factory, and needs to be brought to around .020 so you have the right heat in the spark.
  8. since the guy before had you running crappy oil, and the wrong mixture, what spark plugs are you running? and did you gap the plug?
  9. what you have is fouled out. you need to cut the threads off and look for a light brown ring. i think its about 1/8" from the bottom of the porcelain iirc
  10. not if you dont get pretty much solid fluid coming out. air compresses vs fluid not a lot.
  11. it isnt running because your current plugs are fouled out. have you tried putting new plugs in and starting it?
  12. it took me vacuuming a long time. are you raising the back of the quad up at all so the air can work its way out?
  13. you need to focus on certain things before you worry about speed or comparing it. when the quad sits with the petcock on, it shouldn't leak any fuel out the carbs. once you get that fixed. change the spark plugs out, and make sure they are gapped correctly. Then do what is called a plug chop. fire it up, run it through the gears wide open, then kill the ignition. pull the plugs before firing it back up and look at the ring. Instructions ar eon this site on how to do a plug chop. this helps with jetting. Once you are jetted right, then worry about any speed factors.
  14. it wont keep vacuum on its own. you are supposed to tighten the bleeder before the vacuum goes to 0. eventually you should be getting straight fluid and no air out the bleeder, and then tighten it up before it looses vacuum. if you are struggling, you tube how to bleed brakes with a vacuum pump.
  15. rpm, thats what the bottom end of the power spectrum.
  16. as long as there is still vacuum and fluid coming out. if there is no vacuum it will let air back in.
  17. Elevation is a big factor as well as air temp. If you plugs fouled out, or if your super rich, it wont run great, especially the bottom end.
  18. you need to tighten the bleeder before it can suck air in......
  19. that means your jetting is really rich and your plugs are fouled. put in some new plugs gapped to .020 and it will fire a lot easier.
  20. what quality stainless are you using? we use 304, 316, and 18-8. We are in the washing, and sanitation part of the industry.
  21. even though i know tyler hates them, i have had no issues with my JL engineering swingarm. granted i dont take it off monster jumps.
  22. when you adjusted the floats and said they were low. were the low the distance from the carb to the top of the float. meaning that distance is longer or shorter now. i assume you put your choke tube back in correct?
