  1. you can go bigger and still be fine, i have a similar setup except 4 mil stroker with 28's and it pulls hard through.
  2. parking brakes were garbage on them. 99% of everyone blocks them off if they ever had them. i have never had a banshee with one. get yourself some +2+1 a arms, and some shocks that are valved for your weight, the a arms, and the trails. the cheapest i have found most of the time are works brand. i run a stock rear shock, as it is dual adjustable and can get it semi dialed in some for your riding.
  3. its not that hard to check the basics. first thing i would check is the compression. then a leak down test. make sure thats all good. then check the jetting. which is done by a spark plug chop. Instructions on how to do all 3 are on this website. but those are the big 3 that i would check.
  4. A little more information would do you wonders
  5. There are a lot of factors in jetting one of these. Your elevation, temperature, and any motor mods.
  6. My slp's changed my quad so much. The power pulls so hard and fast on the bottom and mid it is outrageous
  7. could be the flywheel, they normally rattle before they let go.
  8. whats the compression? if not enough compression it wont start, and by putting extra gas in it, it might be helping seal the rings some.
  9. do you have the choke tube in place? are the bowls on the right carbs because stock carbs they cant be switched even though they would fit.
  10. if you buddy has one i would try it for shits and giggles, as when you tug on it it does change something.
  11. did you try a new switch assembly on the handle bars? it could be grounding out in there.
  12. no, i just dont want you going to a hokey guy that does shit with a hand drill. i didnt send mine to a forum sponsor when i had it done. but i did send it to a guy that all he does it 2 stroke motors. if you do take it to southern performance, ive seen his work and that would fly, but what you had in plan with the guy who would do it on the cheap i wouldnt.
  13. jesus. im done talking to a brick wall.
  14. god i love titanium. i just wish it wasnt so expensive.
  15. make sure you have the TOR's brain unplugged
  16. which is why i said what i said, you have had it for 3 weeks and constant issues. im sure there are other things hidden as well. you send it to a site sponsor on here, you are guaranteed a piece that will run will, and will be built right. no one here as a sponsor has fucked anyone over, because they would no longer be a sponsor. I would trust a motor from a site sponsor more then a motor from anyone else building it. Its what these guys do for a living. knowledge costs money, but at the end of the day, you end up with a better piece.
  17. He is saying that they will want the piston. bore is piston specific as you can have 5 pistons and all will be a little different by small amounts. so the bore is made for that specific piston. all depends on how you ride and how often you ride, and maintain it. you will need new domes, around 21cc IIRC to run pump gas. you wont be able to tell 100% by looks. this is part of why we want you to go to a legit shop that does them. they know what thickness the wall is and if it can be saved before they bore them. currently you are like talking to a brick wall. listen to us, most of us have learned the hard way. if i was you. i would pull the complete motor out, send it to a legit banshee shop, that way they can check it all out, make sure there is nothing about to let loose in the bottom end etc. a few bucks now, can save you a lot later. that way when you get it back, you know its 100% good to go. remember, you just got this, you dont know the history, and from the sounds of it, the guy before you didnt know shit either. meaning it hasnt been treated 100% and may have other issues.
  18. im a big fan of pwk28's if you want bottom end. they are much simpler then the stock setup too.
  19. i went this past weekend. cell phone does no good there, no service anywhere lol. found out the hard way, i want 6 ply tires, got a hole in the side wall of my front tire 20 min into the first trail. Too big for plugs. i tried sticking 2 in there just to be able to ride that day. Went to wild willy's and got a set am ambush tires for the front worked great. We had pretty much every tool wee needed, only 3 major fails of the weekend, my flat, my buddy lost the kicker to his lt500, and a raptor 727 died, just wouldnt fire back up. the trails were a perfect example of how elevation affects jetting. went from being great at the bottom of the mountain to breaking up at the top.
  20. i assume the reeds are in good shape?
  21. because chances are they arent going to set it up right. you need someone who does ATV work. if you want someone semi close, try this guy https://www.facebook.com/pg/southernbuiltperformance/about/?ref=page_internal i look at it this way, spend an 100 bucks to have it done right, and ride the next year or 2 worry free, or spend 50 bucks, have it blow up and spend another 200 on pistons that wouldnt need to be replaced if the machine work was right.
  22. i think your buddy doesnt know as much as you think he does. 513 is the wrist pin location and 65.50 is the diameter. and i have 66.00 in mine, so they def make them bigger.
  23. Southern Performance is in flordia, i have seen some of his work on Instagram, seems to do a lot of banshee's and 450's
  24. so a stock crank IIRC. you can prolly get away with a fresh bore and pistons. Then after reassembly, leak down test it. something had to have made it lean out. most likely an air leak.
  25. i ever use grease when assembling regular stuff, makes taking it apart in the future much easier.
