  1. Upgrade your clutch fibers and springs. Try some gearing and air down. Go race him in the sand you will win on pump gas with 145 psi. Who ported the bike? Are you launching in second gear? How much wheel spin are you getting?
  2. You might want to get a desert tank if you think the ltr tank is to small . I got lucky with my conversion the hangers clear by 1/8 . Didn't consider it before I also wish the lower plastic scoops got more clearance by the pipes but ....'oh well
  3. Thanks bro! Your parts are great too
  4. Lift up your front end and wiggle your a arms and ball joints and tie rods. I found the upper arm bolt was making a ovel shaped hole on the frame tab and upper joints worn out .
  5. Mine was warped but I used a hammer to fix the wobble.
  6. I found a CL deal for a contour HD tested it out I think I like it better than my friends go pro hero.
  7. He has a buddy biding it up for him. Text me next time you sell something big on eBay!
  8. I took my cores out and welded in some washers that fit inside the core. The washer wher also cut in half and staggered all the way down the core tube. Try to find non galvanized washers just plain steel with oil coat is best. Zinc is ok. The pipes where so much quieter. Power was still the same. I think 8 or 9 half washers per side. And also had the spark arrester too.
  9. Since you have a possible lean condition you may want to build a leak down tester and look for a airleak Something may have happend to start a lean condition after the dyno tuning Can you post you air flow ratio chart so we can see what your afr was? What dyno shop did you go too?
  10. I'm glad you posted your results. I lot of times a re ring can be done. The banshee crowd dose like peak performance most of the time so re ring idea goes away and big bore kit goes on but if you have great port work like HJR you my want to keep as much metal in there. As possible befor you resleave or nicaseal. Are yours ported ? Is your compression on target for your fuel. I think you said race gas mix so about 155 - 170 about?
  11. Yamaha makes them go up then back by the overflow bottle then stop around the tail light I think it is to keep water from getting in to easily
  12. I used my stockers but cut into them. Is this a bad idea? Cut like down in to the boot to match the area better & try to keep them strong at the same time.
  13. I would compression check blow out carbs new plugs b8es with brand new 5k caps. Check the stator gap. Leak down test to find air leaks. If that doesnt catch it post update. For step two.
  14. O rings are on aftermarket heads. If you can post an engine pic we can I. D. The setup for you. Also do a compression test to tell what type of gas to run. I run 85 gearsaver belray in the trans. And 35:1 in gas. Welcome to BHQ. And congrats on the best quad ever made. Some one will mention to you to search for the answers but iPhone ppl can't so you will have to use google to do it
  15. I stopped by kevins shop (really tidy in there) and he told about the port and he's really down to earth. Thank you HJR I'm really going to love this Christmas gift.
  16. Aluminum is cool but the weight savings isn't wort the avg cost of a roller. If you really needed aluminum I'd save for a yfz450r roller.
  17. I would re ring it too if it was my bike. But I would also take the jug and piston to the machinist to check to see if it is worth re ringing. They could also order the rings and quick hone too.
  18. My brother did it and really likes it. We put on an extra set of dust covers with washers from home depot. The od was good the id had to be drilled. It worked great but the lower shock mount need to be moved in to fix the ride hight.
  19. Don't forget the suggestion to buy the light bulb SERVICE MANUAL.
  20. Call in the vin to the DMV to check the status and if it behind on reg. Then if there is recites for the top end and it runs clean go for it.
  21. I talked to the alba racing dyno tech and he show me the dyno runs befor and after removing the boost bottle. 2 horse power drop with the boost bottle installed. He said it slows to vacuums pulling effect of the pistons. Also tearing boots is a known issue.
  22. Some people may run as thin as 40:1. 32:1 is safer
