i hear you will loose some bottom end shortning the silencers but i have never done it. im sure it wont be detramental so i would go ahead and do it. lets see pics before and after and how it effected the ride.

how do i measure this myself? i know you take a degree wheel and mount it on the crank, then measure in degrees how long the port stay open but is there an area of the piston your measuring from? the leading edge or is it the top of the piston?

disconnect the parking brake switch from the handlebars maybe?

same on both cylinders? take that head off and check it out...

how about you describe your setup and what carbs your going to be running and then we can go from there. chances are you dont need larger carbs though....

stator and cdi i would go oem.. i run a nology and i like it but have a couple oem coils if your looking for one pm me

we have the date arranged on the weekend of june 1-3rd.. i might come thurs and stay till sunday night.

sounds like a plan ddq! to bad its not this weekend.. i wanna ride! looks like we will have a good size group, i think we even have a bhq banner to fly. we are takin over busco! if anyone wants to post saying how many people are coming with them i think i can get a decent head count and i will contact them and be sure we have a spot for the rv'rs. i know im just gonna tent camp cuz i ride till i cant stand up anyways and then take a nap and do it again the next day.

sounds like you need to go up a few jet sizes. if your airbox lid is off probobly around a 260?

from what i understand jack the previous owner is still going to be around for the summer and helping the new owner with everything and the bath house is getting a makeover already. much needed in my opinion... i just hope they dont impose a bunch of new rules because i like the way things are. if new rules are imposed before the date i will be sure and post and give everyone a heads up.

new plugs and try again. can you tell one side is firing and not the other?

double check everything. swap plug wires, check plugs. if its not getting warm its not fireing... even clean the carb again.

the extra couple cc's you gain will not be worth waisting the life of the cylinders. the porting is where the power is.

i am trying to do the same thing right now... my attempt is to pressure wash the crap off and then use alumabrite to get the clean look back. ill let you know how it goes.
