    Put std travel set on a friends bike. Look nice, install and setup pretty easy..

    Sounds like the topend is wore out Check to be sure everything is right in electrical system before buying parts. Like Keyswitch and on off switch. Maybe someone local can let you try a known good cdi to confirm your suspicion. Did you trst the stator as well?

    how much was the head shaved? have you checked the flywheel for rust or pickup gap?

    Try a leakdown test! It still could be a head gasket but sounds like it might be the crank seal. has the oil level been dropping in the crank case?

    maybe the carb bowls are swapped try checking compression too..

    Sounds like a bent fork or wore out spring. 5th gear isnt cut in athe 1-5 or 2-5the so you dont need to pull the clutch in right away -as long as your in 5th
