resleeving ported stock cylinders

Should I go with a bb sleeve or not!! So what I'm gathering is that the performance won't be noticable therefore stay stock bore for added boring in the future? -
resleeving ported stock cylinders
CAJUN BANSHEE replied to CAJUN BANSHEE's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Thanx yall, guess ill price it out both ways Monday and see were I'm at. These cylinders ran hard but I only got a couple of rides on them before a crank bearing sht the bed. I'd hate to set em aside. -
Wondering if anyone can resleeve ported cylinders and if it is worth it or not. Or should I just save up and get cub cylinders.

Thanks slo

Oh ok, this motor was supposed to be between the 80-90 HP range. Just trying to get as much info as I can so I can rebuild this motor right and keep it reliable.
-
Cam, you said angle cut gears and too much pwr, that could be. How can I tell the diff from straight and angle is it obvious or not. Don't know if that was done this motor or not.
-
Shit, ok, don't beat me up too bad. Still learning fellas, the hard way I guess. Think I'll put the original lower back on after the rebuild. Just hope my cylinder can be salvaged. Thanx fellas.

Yeah, I'll buy that, but it sucks that this is only my second ride on the dunes and now i need to rebuild. Oh, and this is the second motor that failed for me this year. Ok I'll stop whining but it sucks and is costly. Come to think of it, I did swap out the bottom case with another that was better looking, that could have threw it off you think.
-
Damn, so its not me and there's another prob. Could it be just bearing failure. What else could be the culprit?
-
What's up banshee bros, tell me what yall think. Got a fully ported 4mill long rod on meth, and the crank bearing on the clutch side exploded. After tearing the motor down I found a bearing keeper at the top of the case and at the bottom of the case. There is only supposed to be one at the bottom right? And if so can having both of those half moon keepers in there cause it to explode like that.

I really need those. Can you text me pics. 337 764 2609

Hey fellas, got a couple of questions. I just installed a pancake bearing in my bike and the body is slightly shorter than stock. Its hard to get the clutch to adjust correctly. I have had to tear it back down 3 times because the clutch starts slipping after a couple minutes of riding. I did not install it backwards because the top of the body were you can hold it with a wrench is sticking out and this is a brand new clutch cable. It also seems that overall adjustment is about 20% less than stock and there isnt much thread sticking out for the lock nut. Someone told me I need to upgrade my clutch lever to the ASV c5 lever (witch looks sweet) I also checked out the clutch adjustment thread on here to make sure I was adjusting it right. If any of yall have run across this let me know, thanks.

Well you will beat it out of me if you have to huh? lol Good. Yes yes yes and maybe, Luke at LRE racing built this motor and carbs specifically for methanol, I bought the motor and ran gas carbs (c12) and it run like sht. Finally found methanol and I just dont want to blow up my motor. I do have discoloration on the ring around the electrode and the strap but not all the way around. Elevation is sea level and its muggy at 90 deg. plug gap at .018, but you lost me on pickup coil gap. I hear BR9evix or BR8evix are the plugs to run but havent found them in town yet. Hope thats a little more info, thanks alot bud

O.k. I know I wasnt specific about what I needed to know when I posted I was converting to alky a few days ago. Sorry, Ill try harder this time. Have a 4mil converted to alky with 36mm carbs, idle air is 2 turns out, timming advanced to +8, plugs (wich are br8es} have little to no color except for a small firing mark on the bottom of each plug after running the piss out of her. Is that normal on alky? Thanks for any replies unless they are sarcastic, but those are funny sometimes too.

I have a 4mm long rod stock cyl. with full drag port, trinitiy stage 5 head with high comp. domes, v force 3 reeds, oof cpi pipes, 36mm pwk with power jets, dual pingle, gutted gas cap, timming advanced at +7, lightened flywheel, 1-6 override, lock up clutch. I have never ran alky so if you have something to say about it say it here, a few pointers would help too. Thanks for all responses guys

I am interested in that swinger and what about the carrier, does that go with it. I tried to pm you but I guess your full, pm me with your # or something. Oh and the cylinders were fully drag ported by Roger Miller a local banshee builder round here and his porting isnt too shabby just pricey. And the crank needs a new outer bearing couse it feels a little rough on the spin.

looking for a chrome +8 or 10 swing arm. I have some oof CPI small bore pipes in great condition or 4mm crank (with no pistons) with drag ported cylinders that just need to be honed. They are at 65mm.

What gearing should I go with on my 4mil
CAJUN BANSHEE replied to CAJUN BANSHEE's topic in Drag Forum
Thanks alot, thats exactly what I needed to know. I probably will go to a +10 because the last set up on this +6 would bring the front end up pretty easy and it was the stock stroke 4mill or short rod crank which ended up busting a piston whithin 30 min of riding at the dunes. Those weird angled 4mill cranks are a pice of shit, Im still pissed about that, but anyway, so I guess Ill have a chrome +6 swing arm and 12 paddles for sale on here soon. thanks again -
I just built a long rod 4mil stock cyl. I have +6 swing arm and 21x11x8 9p extreme haulers. I am a 215lb rider and was wondering what might be the best sprocket set up to go with for dragging and duning. I am currently running stock sprockets. Was also wondering if I should go to a 12 paddle tire.

LMFAO. Nearly pissed myself reading this post. Damn, I feel alot better about my shee bowin up now. 2,000.00$ thats cheap.

new motor broke piston (why?)
CAJUN BANSHEE replied to CAJUN BANSHEE's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
At sea level or a little below, Im in Louisiana. Jetting may be part of the problem but I think my builder never bored the cylinders therefore the piston kept rocking back and forth until it found something to hang up on, but thats just a thought, I wont really know nothing until I get my bike back from him in a couple of weeks. -

Thats what im going to do, I rebuilt it about 7 years ago with no problems but it was just stock with all the bolt ons. Looks like I may be using bhq a lot more, yall have been helpful, I guess I was just looking for some support to work on it myself and yall are right I would take more pride in it. THANKS
