  1. So, you're paying someone to do it, and that's their method of taping? WOW!
  2. The very minute that I figured out that the stator will plug directly into the CDI, it was very obvious the the only place to mount the CDI and voltage regulator was at the back of the tank. I haven't done any of my bikes yet though. It's on my to do list.
  3. You know, it's a lot easier to tape off curves with 1/4" vinyl tape. http://3mcollision.com/products/tapes/specialty-masking-tapes/3m-vinyl-tape-471-blue-36405.html
  4. 10th digit of the frame vin number. http://support.alldata.com/alldata-repair-online-article/vin-to-year-chart
  5. I've got unported cylinders at 66.00 with Wiseco pistons, milled stock head. Had 150PSI compression when taken apart. Also have a complete stock trans with drum, forks, shafts, and kicker idler gear. $240 shipped for everything.
  6. This is what they look like brand new from CPI. I don't remember how much they were, but they were pretty cheap. Call them up.
  7. Not quite sure what you're tying to say here, but there's a ton of different ways to go on the stator/harness/CDI thing. You can easily cut, solder, heat shrink any connector any where you want. Just for info, it's possible to plug the stator directly into the CDI. So, the connectors on the stator and CDI are the same, just opposite sides. So, if you have a junk new style CDI, you could easily solder the connector from it to the harness for a new style stator. You would still have old style CDI, but that doesn't matter. You can also buy connectors here. http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Elec__Products/Connectors/Sealed/sealed.html http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Elec__Products/Connectors/Sealed/sealed.html
  8. So... they didn't actually do a compression check? They just said, well, uh, gee, we're no expert but it could be low compression? I hope they didn't charge you for that wonderful piece of information. So, do a compression check, clean carbs and see what jets are in there. Do a leakdown test.
  9. What kind of retard shit fuck numb nuts dealer did go to? Did you buy it from them or did they "work" on it?
  10. Change the harness plug so you don't have to deal with/find 20 year old stators.
  11. If you just need connectors, you can get them here. http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Elec__Products/Connectors/Sealed/sealed.html Also worth mentioning, the TORS brain box connectors are the same as the triangle headlight connectors.
  12. If' it's that badly neglected, it's probably 2 rides away from going BOOM! If it were mine, I would pressure test the motor, and then tear the motor down and see what you have/don't have. I am lucky to have a friend with a tranny shop. Put the cases in the "parts dishwasher" and they come out super clean.
  13. In order for the bike to run, the red/black wire must be connected to the black wire, and the black/white wire must NOT be connected to the black wire. Originally the red/black wire was connected to the key switch and the black/white wire was for the kill switch. Does that clear things up? Switch it any way you want.
  14. The shift forks are no trouble at all if you do it right side up. Assemble the trans in the lower case half. Put a ratchet strap from the crank end, over the head, crossover between the spark plugs, and down to the other end of the crank. Lower the top case half down onto the bottom half.
  15. Pretty sure they're Gary Dentons, but still good price on chrome A arms.
  16. That's a little low. See the chart near the bottom of the Noss page. http://www.nossmachine.com/banshee_heads.htm
  17. And make sure you have a big garage, cause these thing multiply like rabbits. Before you know it, you'll have 3 more and a couple of parts bikes.
  18. HoneyBooBoo, you guys are practically neighbors. Why don't you meet up for an in person deal.
  19. If you believe the Ricky Stator website, (Yeah I know they're fuckers that have caused everyone endless misery. Just couldn't find this info anywhere else) the MOOG es2074 and the TRX250R have 16mm threads. Yours are clearly 14 mm. Apparently the VW transporter tie rod ends are 14mm. http://www.rickystator.com/catalog/honda-ball-joint-p-41.html
  20. Maybe I'm not getting it, but how can it leak water from gravity, if the dents aren't where the O ring actually seals? (bottom of the groove in the cylinder and the head surface)
  21. '87-'01 has 8 wires. '02 -'06 has 9 wires. The 9th wire is green/yellow wire and is for the park brake switch. you don't need it. Make sure it's NOT grounded.
