  1. Really? I would never buy a stock bike. My motto is to always get more money worth of aftermarket parts than the asking price of the whole bike. That way they are essentially paying you to take the basic bike.

  3. This guy keeps relisting it from Portland to Eugene and keeps dropping the price. He just dropped it to $1900 a few hours ago. Has a title. Seems like it might be a decent deal. http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/mcy/4009215595.html
  4. I have actually contemplated something like this a lot. Seems to me like the best way to do it would be to start with a Banshee. Weld a Honda 250R 3 wheeler front frame section to it. Then build a single wheel swingarm for the Banshee frame. With about a 25" ripper on the back it would be a hoot.
  5. This comes up about every 6 weeks. No it's not safe. There's plastic in the stock ball joints that will melt. Some people have done it successfully, but I wouldn't trust my life to stock powder coated A arms.
  6. They're around for a lot cheaper than that. I sold one for locally for $20. Here's 1 for $15. As mentioned, you could cut 1 and add a piece. Just cleaner and easier to use 2 kickers. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=169409
  7. You're being paranoid. We trust our lives to welds every time we ride. Frame, A arms, swingarm, etc. The only way that the kicker could not be welded successfully, would be if it was made out of cast iron. Trust me, it's not. If it was, you could clamp it in the vice, whack it with a hammer and break it right in half. Show it to one of your welder buddies and see what they say. But, it's your kicker, your confidence level, you decide.
  8. Yes, it'll hold. Just bevel the ends, weld it, and grind it smooth.
  9. If you're going to do that, take 2 kickers, cut them both longer than 1/2 and then weld them together. Piece of cake for anyone that's good with a MIG or TIG welder.
  10. Sorry to hear about your crash, man. In this sport, we are all just 1 "Oh shit" away from being in a wheelchair for life. That's the risk we take every time we go out. The 1 rule I live by, is I never go out for "1 more ride". If somebody in the group says, "hey, let's go out for just 1 more ride". That's it. I'm loading mine in the trailer. It's that "1 last ride" that can get you seriously hurt. Hang in there, man. We know that recovery is going to take time, but we wish you the best and hope things go well.
  11. The Wiseco 795 pistons are to make things right with the 5mm longer rod. That has nothing to do with the 4mm longer stroke and the port timings. The piston will travel 2mm out the top of the cylinders and 2mm below the ports. You really need to talk to a builder to get your porting taken care of and get your domes.
  12. OH FUCK! Somebody's going to have to wipe your butt.
  13. Good luck! You have a .02% chance of rounding up the original MSO. A 5% chance of getting a title and a 15% chance that's it's an unreported stolen, or it belongs to a finance company. Better strip it down to the frame, and have somebody write you up a phoney bill of sale for a frame. That way if somebody comes looking for it, all you lose is the frame.
  14. Yes. You will destroy the flywheel without one.
  15. Or Chariot, or Mattoon. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chariot-Banshee-Stator-Timing-Plate-Billet-Aluminum-With-Easy-Adjust-Bolts-/281104545763?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item417322f7e3&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/YAMAHA-BANSHEE-STATOR-TIMING-PLATE-BILLET-ALUMINUM-MFG-By-Mattoon-Machine-/221263032784?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item33844df1d0&vxp=mtr
  16. Putting it in simple terms, if you don't have it ported for the 4 mil, the pistons will be going down 2 mm below the ports and that 2mm of stroke will be doing very little for you. There's more to it than that, but that should give you a basic understanding of how dumb it is to not get it ported for the 4 mil.
  17. WTF??? It has Banshee plastics on it, therefore, it must be a Banshee. What a turd! http://salem.craigslist.org/mcy/3988193125.html
  18. Do a leakdown test BEFORE you pull the reeds!!!!
  19. That's the way to teach him. http://fayetteville.craigslist.org/zip/3996023191.html
  20. Just don't breathe the fumes from the muratic acid. Nasty, nasty stuff. Eats aluminum right up but doesn't affect cast iron.
  21. Here is where the misinterpretation comes from. Should be horizontal. Other than that, good info.
  22. I have the one you posted the ebay link for. I like it a lot. I use 1/2 of my handle from my Harbor Freight aluminum floor jack on the tool. It fits perfect for more leverage. It only fits Banshees, so if you're going to be working on lots of different kinds of bikes, buy the vicegrip kind. I've never used the vicegrip kind, but lots of people do. For disassembly, I do as mentioned above. Push on the clutch pack and buzz the nut off with an impact.
  23. I've used a steak knife and a propane torch and then finished it off with a hard disk grinder.
  24. Is this the same bike that you need the stock carb cable holder piece for? If you're running stock carbs, there is no way you're making enough horsepower to need a +8 swinger.
