i always thought that 200 were stock i bought this shee completely stock form the second owner when i pulled the carbs i dont think they were ever touched i put the 220 mains in myself i had 240 main in becasue i was riding in 0-20 degree weather here now the weather is like 40-60 so i went to 220 i dont have any upgrades im missing my air box lid so i figured with the lower temps and no air box lid to go atleast 2 mains up. i live in new york im not sure the elevation but i can find it out. its deff rich smokes a lil more than normal i put brand new plugs in they show rich condition i just did i top end a few rides ago so i dont think my top end is bad but if she still smokes after i changed the jets im going to do a compression test.
-
thanks again guys got it all put back together only thing is i changed my mains from 240 to 220 and she seems to be running really rich almost a little sluggish in the low end has pretty good top end power but i do believe i feel a rich sluggish...she is smoking a little more than normal too i dont know why shes running a little rich but im going to try 200 mains and see what happens.

i was at 9 psi its the way i took the pic... i read 12 max psi or the seals blow...i deff didnt cause any damage i feel like a dumbfuck though i checked the shifter seal no oil so i took the flywheel cover off and my bolt was off and the fly wheel was loose explains the metal scratching sound so then i decided to drain the oil and there was 2 quarts in there i dont know why i didnt not see any in the case? i just feel so stupid but relived! but thanks alot guys for the quick responses and good answers now i just gotta put my motor back in lol.
-
right...the case inst bone dry but alot of oil did go somewhere..i just dont know where or how...im going to drain it to see excalty how much oil is left in there...but i dont see where is leaked out anywhere and the leakdown test was holding psi for a good amount of time i think i read 1 psi per min is normal and i was loosing less than that.
-
im not sure of the compression on the top end i didnt wanna check it and keep kicking it over incase something is serioulsy damaged in the bottom end...i did the leakdown test ith holds psi and doesnt leak out i sparyed all around and there is no leaks even where i thought the bottom bolts were leaking there not must have been some gear oil that ran on the case from the last oil change...so can anyone tell me what the deal is why my bottom end blew? if i had a bad crank seal wouldnt it loose psi on the leakdown test?

lol i hear ya man i love the street bikes if i didnt go with the gsxr i was deff getting a cbr i love the 06's its nice to hear how different the bikes are i love the yoshi pipe i got! my buddy has an 05 r1 they look awesome! here are some pics of mine.. http://imageshack.us/g/714/20120323204414177.jpg/ my shee was running rich but i didnt have it lean out i honestly believe i have a bad crank seal but before i did the top end rebuild well what actually caused me to do a top end rebuild was i ran out of gas n called my mom to bring me some mixed gas she was acting stupid argued with me so i got towed to the gas sttion n she shows up which ust pissed me off to the max becasue she didnt hav any gas period lol so after i pumped i totally forgot to put oil in it than i relized how big of a fuck up that was so that could have casued a bad crank seal it stalled out n locked up when i stopped so i wasnt WOT or even any throttle at all when i got it home i used mystery oil to free it up and the exhaust spit a broken ring out than i rebuilt it im also guessing that my bottom end is just beat im doing a loakdown to be safe though make sure any gaskets arent leaking and to see if i find any cracks etc. ill post pics of the leakdown tomarrow after work.
-
got the motor out and got my leaktester built but im missing a carb boot clamp and after running around all day i said screw it so i cant do my leakdown test untill tomarrow after work, but i notice the two bolts under the case right above the drain plug are wet with gear oil but i dont see 2 quarts worth of oil that leaked out there.
-
i thought the same thing about my crank seal but i did notice NO heavy smoke etc. maybe it burned off slowly and didnt smoke more than normal? but im going to do a leak down test today and ill let guys know if it is leaking anywhere.
-
i love the gsxr its only a 600 but a ton of fun, makes its power around 8k rpm though...im going to do a leakdown test i didnt even notice how much i could learn from one. wouldnt it be smart to do a leakdown test before and after the rebuild just to make sure after all the new parts there isnt a leak somwhere somehow?
-
yea thanks guys for the replys and the manual download! you say i checked the tansmisson oil well it was empty so im guessing something is causing it to go somewhere but there is not a single leak i can find? it confuses me i stared the tear down tonight tomarrow i should have the motor fully off so really something could ahve happend to my tranny and or crank? as for charging it to my credit card i dont have id love too but i just took a loan out and got a 05 gsxr so im stuck paying on that and between that and the bills im going be struggling to get a stock crank/rebuild lol.
-
yea i checked that out and its a huge help! just gotta get a manual now..just wondering if there is any info not covered in that thread or in a manual? im just gonna go with a wiseco stock crank so i can ride again asap. but i would love to do a 4mil when i had some extra cash
-
i just blew my bottom end up yesterday no crank oil...only thing i can notice is a small wet spot by them bolts so im wondering the same thing..i believe its crank oil but there is not a full case of it there.
-
well yesterday i went to toy around on the shee...i came down a small hill than she stalled out but kind of a hard stall so i stopped, goto kick it over again i hear like metal sliding against metal...so i checked the crank case oil and it all gone i rode maybe 2-3 times since i redid my top end and i did all fresh liquids and oils....so now i gotta tear it down im guessing i had a bad oil/crank seal? and spun a bearing but i wont know for sure untill i tear into it..wondering if there is any advice you guys can give me im going to rebuild the bottom end myself i have done top ends before fine but i have never done a bottom end but i have done alot of research.
-
i would have to check the size i think they are 20x10 or 20x11 or 20x12 not excalty sure ill get back to you on that...dunno about the tune on the studs tires, rims, and studs all brand new...dont know what you mean by tune can you please explain? iv never rode studs before. forgot to mention they are kold kutter studs.
