  1. Hey..... dont hate I recommend this site to randoms daily! i just tell em ignore the SB!
  2. hahahaah... now thats a fact right there! may as well rename this site to BOATERSHQ...
  3. lol.... may as well skip the baby steps.. do what I did.. stock stroke ported.. then give in to all the heresay and just opt to a 10mil cub and call it a day..
  4. welcome.... make sure you have some thick skin on here and youl do just fine! Keep the bike simple and ride it! best advise I can give you...
  5. yeah the issue ended up being cost vs HP output.... running a big stroker such as a 10 on oval was playing roulette i guess. cheaper and easier to just do hybrid from the sounds off it. mind you this is for TT...... GP you def don't see many due to how they handle vs other chassis but yea... i have yet to see any YFZ hybrids with banshee motor... im sure it would hold its own... a nice 4 mil SS or something would be sweet. sounds like youve had some good seasons though!
  6. oh nice hybrid! nope no more racing for me... just couldnt swing the funds anymore. not too many guys left running banshee's either.... the few main guys that i spoke to opted to hybrids with speedbike motors in em for oval racing. still see the odd strangler banshee but not many big 10mils + running anymore.
  7. I forgot you where one of the few others that got a TT swinger from him!
  8. are you running the solder aligned with the center / pivot pin of the piston?
  9. Nitro Tate had made a rookie build / assembly / disassembly video on here for people to buy for 20 bucks... it got pretty popular for him at the time... but this was before youtube if im not mistaken lol... I still have his dvd somewhere I think unless I lent it to someone and never got it back. was handy to have on the 1st build I did...
  10. Your budget build for arms and shocks will fully depend on what you WANT / CAN spend.... works and elka's stage 1 or legacy series are a good budget shock... as for a arms... there's mixed reviews on the alba a arms (my buddy has some on his raptor and they been solid, other then bushings wearing out fairly quick but easy to replace) If you want a peace of mind full pakcage.... LSR, laeger, Fireball etc are the ones most would recommend... Fireball LT a arms $750 Elka stage 1 shocks are about 600usd new
  11. yea in most cases I agree but if you compare the cost of shipping for a whole seat vs just the cover... ill deal with the install and save myself the 50-60 $ shipping each way lol
  12. used frames are cheap but again the odds of it being straight are pretty damn slim too.... Banshee frames are made of swiss cheese.. ya fuckin fart on it and the subframe tweaks out.... go ass NYUK why he had custom holes made in his seat when he was a banshee boy.... little piece of advice.... if it rides straight F it and ride it.... The subframe can be re straightened too with little effort...
  13. good chunk of racers around western Ontario.... Lots of opportunity and track access down that way! All those guys though that ran banshees are opting to hybrids these days though... I know 2-3 of them at the least ditched the banshee scene and opted to a hybrid for the open class and run a 450 for the other classes.... The guy gusto posted ditched the 10cub for a 800? 2 stroke sled motor build last I looked. On that note.. its really not hard to install a cover but I will say its TONS easier with 2 people. helps also to throw the seat cover in a dryer for a little bit before install
  14. you may be lean on pilot with a piped banshee... esp if your airbox is open as well
  15. yea from the look of thoser i'd get a carb rebuild kit and start fresh.. hoppedup is getting you in the right direction! .. 30 pilot seems a little big for a piped banshee from what ive read on here.
  16. set your needle in the middle clip and leave it there ( if you even got an adjustable needle) get your bike to atleast run crips on idle without bogging or anything then you can try doing some test runs
  17. someone with more stock carb experience can answer a good starting point... but you will need to confirm all your mods... I know your pilot you will want to be around a 27.5 if I remember right.
  18. No prob.. im all for helping as long as yoru willing to get in there and checking things out.
  19. k right there I know for a fact you need to get into those carbs NOW. GET THOSE CARBS OFF AND INSPECTED.... im done posting / helping you here until you do.... its a waste of time for everyone to even bother posting / help you at this point if your not going to take the time to check them Your saying the bike got dialed by a mechanic but yet your having issues and now your saying gas is pissing out the overflow... cmon dude take 5 mins and get into those carbs.
  20. those circled spots are fine whats your current pilot jet at? id check that 1st thing
  21. before leaning it out anymore check on how many turns you currently got them set at from fully seated. if your under 1 full turn you may be rich on the pilot... for the hell of it and to be safe... have you tried richening the screw to see if it would get worse or better.... always safer to richen the circuit before you try leaning it out more
  22. definitely seems to have cleared up a chunk but not 100%... make sure your carbs are synced what is your current air/fuel screw set at? id maybe lean it out 1/4 turn on each. (assuming you have the A/F screw installed on your carbs) Also i'd verify what your current jetting is.
  23. dont quote me on this... but I swear I read somewhere that Elka also had a distribution center (where they assemble / build shocks) for the US. Iread this info somewhere on the elka site... but that was quite some time ago... none the less don't matter.... their legacy shocks are a budget kit set up to say the least...
