I'm in the process on redoing my 96 banshee. I've done all the work myself in my garage for stripping it to polishing to paint ect. The pics aren't in order cause they loaded all jacked up. I'm still not finished with it but would like to know what you guys think so far. Good or bad and any tips you may have or if you might see that I'm doing something wrong. To me any input is better than none. Thanks http://m944.photobucket.com/albums/Fastassbanshee96/Mobile%20Uploads/?pbauth=1_InKH3DO4ADjdh1h3YMYz2ZZfpK1HSsbvTyD%2B5C2EAZADiPSA5MpaW4ZQwmiu2vzi9jUHXDVMsxgfcatpizYGNS%2Bff5ac8IR96Q6npmBzde%2FEWZNBP3DrXOo9UP0GJ%2BrdcvsFwvFPr5lk7gNxRM%2BfwpB1EZDZO848 Sorry for having to use photobucket, I'm on my iPhone cause my computer crashed.

Thanks for the help. My frame has like 7 layers of chrome paint on it so it was real hard to find without knowing where to look. But thanks again.

Where is the vin# located on the frame.

I would be more than welcome to post pics if anyone can tell me how to do so useing my iPhone. My computer crashed awhle back so iv been useing this. And yes when my motor is back in I WILL be taking a video. And as far as this whole topic goes... The first ? Asked was what's the fastest banshee anyone has seen. The last time I checked it didn't say what's the fastest in 1/4 mile or any of that bs. I am well aware that I'm new to this site but I was just posting my top speed which was asked. I didn't read anywhere on here where someone said "gang up on this guy cause he's new". My gps may not be correct but m pretty sure it is considering it matched up to what my car speedo said but that's besides the point. And like I said in a previous post... I did not build my bike but what I do know is it 40 over has vfroce reeds. Not sure which ones. What looks to me a small amount of porting but once again I didn't have it done so I don't know. Stock carbs with pods/ airbox removed. 15/42 gears on I believe 21 inch tires. Stock head as far as I know. Could be milled... I didn't do any thing to it. And I think that's about it asfar as I know. I am well aware that it's not a super modded shee but it's also not stock. Oh yeah and fmf fattys with power core 2s. But putting this whole topic aside, really if anyone can tell me how to post pics off an iPhone that would be great. I've been trying to figure out for a while now.

Very well put specialblend. These guys are just sad they can hit 90. Not to be a dick but I'm kinda glad I'm not the only one that's getting bashed about this. Lol.
-
Sorry that I left out a few of the mods the first time I listed them. I didn't build the motor, I bought it the way it is. And I'm not trying to say I have the fastest shee in the world. I was just saying that I hit 90+ with those mods. I am well aware it takes a whole lot more than what I have to do 120 but again, never said I could.

Q: How fast does a stock Yamaha Banshee go A: The top speed of a stock Yamaha Banshee is 74 miles per hour. ChaCha! Categorized: Motorsports Source: ATVFan • View topic - Yamaha Banshee | www.atvfan.com Answered: Dec 31 2009, 12:18am I'm not trying to explain anything... Just don't want people putting words in my mouth. If a stock shee goes 74 then why is it sooo hard to believe that a modded one can do 90+ with gearing.
-
I'm not 100% sure on tire size but I think there 21. I'll have to check tomorrow. And like I said that was going by my gps and when I tested it tonight at 90 it was about 2 miles off. Couldn't really tell. The speedo on my car isn't digital so it could be right on. And once again not in 1/4 mile and never said 120.
-
I will definetly let you know when and where I will be so you can watch. I never said I could do 120 I just said I can get above 90 and not with stock gearing. The last time checked 15 42 gears weren't stock. Also I never said what distance it was in. It's definetly not in 1/4 mile. All I know is what my gps said it's max speed was after I set everything to zero. My friend was with me and he went about the same speed as me... He has a little more done to his but his was bogging on 5th and 6th gear. After we got back we found out he blew the crank barring and wasted his right cylinder. But if he didn't I'm sure he would have hit over 90 as well. I'm sick of all these people telling me shit can't be done.
-
K well I just tested my gps in my car and at 90mph it was within 2 to 3 miles off so maybe I was about 92. When I get the motor back in it I will have it on radar by a mocomb county sherif. Then will you guys finally drop this bs that you can't do 90 on a shee. Dout it but well see.
-
Not too much but apparently alot of these other guys have smoked too much. Why is it that I'm the only one getting shit for this. There are other people that are running real close to what I have and I don't see anyone saying anything to them. Like I said befor when you see the video then you guys can shove it up your ass.
-
Oh and specialblend, get ready for these guys to tell you that the cops radar was off. Anything that's going 90+ if it isn't a 10mil must be wrong. Lmao
-
Ok well then I'll have it dynoed or take it to the track and have it radared and when it comes back saying it went 90+ then you might want to think about getting rid of your slow pos and go with my setup. Once again sorry yours isn't as fast as mine. Maybe you should think about putting it on a dyno and do some tunning. The next time it will go out it will have a cool head on it with 19cc domes but if your going to say that's the reason it went soo fast I'll put the stock head back on just for you. Like I said I've used my gps, and I've had a truck tail me along with my buddys 4 wheeler with a digital read out and they all have said 90+. But let me guess ALL those are wrong right.
-
It's ok. I'll post a video just so you can see Apparently you guys don't get into 6th gear Lol and no my gps isn't lying it's a brand new garmin don't be sad Keep dumping all that money into your slow bike and maybe you'll get going as fast as me one day Lol
-
Well sorry every one is so pissed off that they spent all this money and can't go 90mph... I'll take a video of it and post it just to shut you up. It is bored .40 over with stock carbs, v force reeds, fmf fatty pipes with power core 2s. Stock head with very minimal port work done plus the gearing. I know it feels like your going faster than what you are but I also know my gps isn't lying to me.
-
I have a shee that bored .40 over with stock carbs and 15 42 gears and I hit 95mph on my gps the other day.
-
Yeah I'm trying to build a 4mil long rod. Just need to get my money together and I'm waiting on this guy to pull it out of his motor. He's charging me 265 shipped. I think it's a good deal. I won't be useing the nitrous much just in drags when I'm racing someone that can beat me on motor alone. I'm going to hide the bottle and shit so no one will really know what hit um. And just to be able to say my shee has nitrous.
-
Is there any way to tell if the crank is welded without pulling the case apart. I bought mine off a friend and he doesn't remember what all was done to it. It has aftermarket rods cause it has the oiling slots in it but don't know if it was welded.
-
Has anyone used the boss noss nitrous system on a banshee. I've been looking into getting a 20hp kit and am wondering exactly how safe it is for the motor and if anyone knows what is recommended to have done to the bike to run it. I don't have much done to my shee. I'm bored .40 over coolhead with 19cc domes stock carbs with air box removed. And I'm currently trying to get a 4mil crank. I also have a small amount of port work done. I don't really need to have it, I just really like the idea of the go baby go button. Lol. Any information would be great. Thanks.

What fuel can I run.

I don't believe there is much port work done on it. I was looking the other day and noticed a little bit on the exhaust port is ground down. I don't know much about porting but it doesn't look very aggresive at all. Where all do I have to look for porting to figure this out? Is there any port work done on the intake usually. If I can load a pic would you be able to tell me if it is an aggresive port and if the port work looks any good. What all do I need to take pics of. -
Go to an auto body shop and get car paint. That's what I did with mine and it has held up to everything so fare. And you can get any color. It's a little pricey but I think it's worth it. I'm on my phone now but when I go on the computer I will post pics.

I am looking for a 4mil long rod crank with barrings for cheap. Or atleast cheaper than new. May also be interested in aftermarket clutch. Email me at jont5284@yahoo.com

Right now I am running stock carbs. I live in Roseville. The motor is out of it right now so I can redo the frame a what not but I should have the motor back in by next week and I will do the compression test. Can you use any old compression tester or is it a certin one for these things. I started testing it before I pulled the motor and got it up about 110 pounds before my foot slipped off and and hit my leg on the rear fender braket and seperate my calph muscle from my acillys tendent. So I've been moving kinda slow lately. But someone told me that the tester you have to use can't have a long hose on it and mine has about a 4 foot hose. Will that make a difference? Also what is 110LL and where can I find it at. -

I'm not sure on the compression I haven't put the head on yet and I got the bike off a friend who had it built quite some time ago and doesn't remember what all is done to it. I believe the spark it stock and I live in Michigan near detroit so I don't really know what elevation that is. And as far as running race fuel do I have to run c12 or can I just run turbo blue. It's alot cheaper than c12. Like half the price. Thanks. -
I have a 96 banshee bored .40 over with the stock crank. I just picked up a cool head with 19cc domes and was wondering if anyone knows what gas I will have to run. Can I do pump or will I have to run race fuel. Also it has fmf fattys with turbine core 2 and vforce reeds. Would anyone be able to tell me what size jets I should run with the new head.
