  1. That's what I thought. I was just double checking. Thanks.
  2. Is there a way to remove the tors without buying the new cable and caps. Mine are already done just trying to get some info for someone in az. If you can do this please give detailed discription on how to.
  3. If you don't mind me asking.... How much is he charging you for your porting? I'm looking into doing mine thru him and the forum said the prices changed.
  4. That looks sweet. Good job. Now you just need to throw some polish on those rims. You need to make them as shinny as the hubs.
  5. Thanks man. I've been looking all over for it and couldn't seem to find any info.
  6. Does anyone know how I can get ahold of this guy. I have pm him with no response. Is there a website or phone number. Anything.
  7. Hell yeah dude those look bomb ass. You need to post some pics of how they look on the bike. Real good job.
  8. Well shit for that I'll deffinetly being going up there.
  9. Yeah I've been meaning to go there and see what all they've got for polishing. I've already got dye grinders and bench grinders and shit just not wheels. Funds are kinda tight right now... I got laid off a while back and now I have a baby on the way so the wife has been up my ass about spending money. Expecially on the shee. She absolutly hates that thing. It's about every other day she tells me she going to sell it on me so I just keep her locked out of the garage. Lol.
  10. Hell yeah that's sweet. I did a bunch of sanding and polishing on mine, but I did everything by hand. All wet sanding in multiple gritts and polishing by hand. It sucked ass. By the time I was done my finger tips were bleeding. Even the rims were done by hand and the fronts were the stock gold rims. I sat there for a real long time sanding that sit off before I found out there shit that will strip off the anodize. There's still a few small scratchs in some stuff cause I got pissed off with sanding so I'm going to get some buffing tools and go over some things this winter. There's pics in my sig in the photobucket link if you want to check it out.
  11. Lookin pretty good so far. Did you sand at all or is that all just with the tool you have in the back ground of the first pic? Keep up the good work and keep posting pics as you go.
  12. I'm interested in the crank. Do you still have it and where are you located.
  13. I think it will look pretty sweet. Personally I like the black and white more than the other.
  14. Nice little piece of info I did not know. Guess I will have to start checking ring gap when I do rebuilds.
  15. I have never filed mine either. Just thru them in and went but then again min e isn't really a high hp motor. IMO. If you do have to file them, at what hp do you have to start with what mods.
  16. Not too sure on how you would go about doing that but post some pics when your done with it. I'd like to see how it turns out. Sounds like it would look pretty sweet when it's all done.
  17. I personally like what I did with mine... There's pics in my sig in the photobucket link. Some people don't like the blue but I do. I think what you have planned will look pretty sweet. Post up some pics of all the work you do.
  18. Yeah I would polish them. I think it looks way better. If your rims aren't all beat up then just take some 1500 gritt wet sand paper to them. It will take alittle while but in the end it will be well worth it. If you want just do it on a small peice to start with. Take and sand the same spot for like 5min and throw some polish on it real quick a you you see what they will look like.
  19. Yes there is a filter in the gas tank. There's actually two of them. One for the reserve and one for the on position.
  20. Is this something that only happens when you first start it and it's cold or is it a constint thing? Do a plug chop and see what the plug looks like. Check compression.
  21. Welcome to the site. I don't know all of too much about the elevation and all that but a 400 main seems way too high. Your pilot should be good as long as you ment a 28 and not 2.8. I sure someone on hear will give you a better idea of what to run. If it helps at all.... I'm running a 96 banshee bored 40 over with a cool headand 19cc domes fmf fattys with turbine core silencers vforce reeds on stock carbs with the air box removed and I'm running a 320 main and 27.5 pilot. Like I said not sure about elevation but I live in Michigan so I'm pretty close to sea level.
  22. I did the same thing on my rims. Mine were the stock gold rims. I found out the hard way, sanding off all the gold. After it was done I found there were much easier ways to go about it. But back to the topic.... I wet sanded all the rims and used mothers as well. There are pics in my sig if you want to see how they turned out. It was all done by hand no tools. Are you wet sanding and what grit paper are you useing? You need to do it in steps.
  23. Ah that's what I was thinking too. I've already got a cool head with 19cc domes so I figured I would run it like this for alittle while and see how I like it then later in the season send my cylinders out to fast to get them ported. I was going to do it this year but when I spoke with him he was saying he was alittle backed up and I wouldn't get them back for quite some time. Or if money is righti might just switch over to a 4mil this winter. Who knows.
  24. Thanks for all the info guys. Looks like I'll stick with the reeds I've got. Atleast for now.
