  1. Yeah the motor builder said run a 27.5 pilot and another local guy said to run a 40. He says he would rather run fat than run lean.
  2. He's running +3 timing right now. And as far as the crank bearing, how could that happen with a motor that has not even 2 hours on it and the crank is brand new. And it hasn't been beaten on at all.
  3. Yes the domes are cut domes and the motor was built by a reputable builder( don't want to drop names if it's just a fluke). I would guess that the builder did the squish and I know he did the leak down test. We were riding and it after the break in and were just kind of idling next to eachother going probably 25mph when we heard a pop. We instantly shut them off and pushed it back to the truck a pulled a plug. The bottom of the plug was smashed in and you could see signs of where some thing hit it. I then took with the plug out and put my finger over the whole and turned over by hand and it feels like there is pretty much no compression in the right cylinder. Everything looked and seemed to be good on the left side. He is taking the head off tonight and is supposed to let me what he finds. I'm guessing a whole in his piston.

What is the proper or close jetting for this setup. 4mil long rod dune ported and case matched, cool head with 22cc domes, fmf fattys, v force 3 reeds, stock carbs... Right now he is running a 340main and a 40 pilot. I know the pilot is probably set a little fat. Also we live it Michigan. I want to say elavation is just a few hundred feet. Let me know what you guys think.
  5. What exactly is detonation and how does it happen. I've always been under the impression that it's when you have too much compression and not enough octane. Is this true. Also if you are running lean can it blow a hole in your piston and if so how long does it usually take. My buddy just had a 4mil long rod built running v force 3 reeds dune ported case matched fmf fattys stock carbs cool head with 22cc domes running a 340 main and a 40 pilot. Is this jetting pretty close to what similar setups are running. I know his pilot is probably a little high but he would rather that than it be running lean. Also we live in Michigan. I'm asking all this because he just got the motor back and put in, did the break in on it and it blew up. There is not even 2 hours on the motor and he did the break in correctly. Still hasn't even gotten to give it everything it has. Maybe 3/4 throttle. Also he's running 93octane when it's setup to run 91. What do you guys think it could be and is this jetting close enough to where there shouldn't be a problem.

  7. You can buy the whole package on eBay for about 240. It comes with head domes studs and orings. The domes seperate are only 60.

  16. I just got a plus 6 swingarm and am wondering what size chain I need. Also what kind of chain should I get. O- ring or non.
  17. If you haven't removed your tors yet do it. It will more than likely fix your problem. As far as mods. All these ideas sound good. Personaly I would do what it takes to put on a 4mil. You will be happy you did. No 4 stroke will touch it.
  18. That's what I figured. I don't know what size I want to go and figured I would try one for the price if they held up. I think I'll just save the money and get an actual ext swingarm. Thanks guys
  19. Has anyone ever used the swingarm extension kit? I'm looking into get a longer swingarm but don't know what size to go. I found these on eBay and figured it would be a good way to try a size without spending alot of money. If anyone has used them please let me know how they hold up and if you can post a pic of how it looks on the bike.
  20. Yeah I painted mine and I think they turned out real good. I tried some cheap ass paint stripper and it didn't work for shit. So I took and put a wire wheel on an angel grinder and BOOM. It was done in like 10sec. If you use the wire wheel just be carefull you don't hit your finger. I hit mine and barely hit it and it danm near stripped it to the bone.
  21. Yes after doing the head you have to do jetting. As far as reeds go I'm not sure and I don't think you have to with timing. Atleast I didn't and it seems fine.
  22. I have a pro design and I like it alot. Never tried any others but have heard good things about all listed above.
