  1. That's a real good start as far as mods go. As for the clutch I'm not going to be running a lock up. Like I've said before Jeff is building my motor and said that with running his clutch setup I should be good. I'll be riding pretty close to the same thing as you, trails and a little dune. If you were doing alot of drag I would say get the lock up. As far as the swing arm, I would go bigger than that. I'm running a +6. It would just suck to buy a swing arm and spend all that money for it to not keep the front end down. But get whatever is going to suit your needs. Like 350 said shop around and talk to a few sponcers as far as price goes. Also I seen you sig says something about Detroit. Do you live in Detroit? I'm about 10 miles from there.
  2. Jeff is actually building me a 4mil serval right now and I will be running a set of 35 mm pwks. He said that those carbs should pep it up quite a bit.

  4. Yeah alot of people have cp stuff but not the servals. Otherwise there would be more testing done on them.
  5. I wasn't saying the curve was like a drag bike. I was saying the hp numbers were probably close to being the same on the servals and a drag ported stock cylinder. I don't really know what you would compare the curve to. As far as I have read the curve is like none other out there.
  6. Great site with a lot of good info.
  7. Well I think the numbers are higher on a serval than the stockers. Probably more comparable to a drag ported stocker but that's the whole thing everyone is ranting about is the power band. The power curve on them is supposed to be like none other. It won't come on like a light switch. Is there right from the start and only gets stronger thru out the curve. That's one of the big reasons why I got them. Plus the torque is supposed to be much better because of it being a big bore cylinder. Plus I got them cause I like having stuff that not many other people are running.
  8. Yeah as far as I know there isn't anyone that has tested the serval with the R2s but I've heard nothing but good things about the R2s so they should be a nice combo. Plus you can't beat the way they look. IMO they are the baddest looking inframes out there.
  9. I'm actually really glad to hear that cause my buddy has a 4mil dune port and he's been talking all kind of shit saying he's going to be faster. Just from what I was reading on them I thought a few guys said they will be comparable to a GOOD ported stocker but I might have miss read or those guys just didn't know what they were talking about.
  10. I am actually doing the 4mil serval and plan on doing the R2 pipes. My builder said they should match up pretty good. There just isn't really a whole lot of testing done on the servals with different setups. I'll be running the 4mil long rod serval with cases port matched. V-force2 reeds. 35mm pwk carbs. +4 timing. R2 pipes. On pump gas. And I mainly ride trails. Depending on when you plan on doing everything, I will be writing a review when I get everything installed and setup in the spring. If you are going to be waiting for a while then I can let you know how every thing turns out.
  11. Yeah I guess it depends on what kind of riding you do. From what I hear these cylinders are kinda best all around cylinder. But on the same hand I've also heard that a good ported stock cylinder is comparable to these cylinders. The servals are just a broader power curve and more usable power. Pretty much isn't a light switch like most ported stockers. I'm going from a stock stroke stock port cylinders so it should be a huge gain for me. Talk to some of the sponsors on here and see what they recommend. Jeff at F.A.S.T is building mine. Great guy to deal with and will try to help you in any way he can.
  12. Go for both. That's what I did. I'm having a 4mil long rod serval built right now. From everything I've heard they are supposed to be beasts.
  13. Big things are do you have any port work done to you cylinders? Do you have stock head or cool head? If cool head what size domes? What carbs and air intake? Air box , no lid , pods...... All those thing play a huge part in hp
  14. Yeah technically I don't really have it either. I should be doing other stuff with the money but I had a really good summer with work and the wife said I deserve it.
  15. I know that's what I'm saying. When all said and done I'll have about 6 grand in this rebuild. And to top it all off the wife absolutely hates my banshee. I'm wondering if she's just letting me make it all nice so she can try and make me sell it. Lol.
  16. I don't know how I pulled it off but my wife is letting me do a complete build. Well redoing my 96 shee. As of right now the list is: Complete 4mil serval being built at F.A.S.T right now. A set of 35mm pwk carbs R2 pipes and silencers. Complete yfz 450 front conversion. A-arms shocks and all. New G-Force chrome axle Chrome swingarm New RIS billet foot pegs New RIS billet 7pc front bumper. Billet throttle cover Billet master brake cover Chrome grill Chrome rear brake lever Billet rear brake res. Black laker plastics All new paint and pc And a few more things to come. Like I said don't know how I am pulling it off but I must have been a good boy this year.
  17. I just did the 450 conversion on the front suspension. I'm redoing my whole bike right now and was wondering if I will still be able to use my stock brake lines or will I need extended ones. I did the upper and lower a-arms, shocks, and spindles. I've only mocked them up on the frame just to do the mods before I send the frame out so I haven't been able to check the lines cause it's all torn down. I'm not sure what year they came off but I believe each arm is about 1inch longer than stock.
  18. Hi can you send pics to jont5284@yahoo.com and what all is involved in switching them back to gas and about how much would it cost me to do this.
  19. Yes you can. I'm not really sure what all needs to be done but I am actually having a 4mil long rod serval built right now. As far as what I understand is just a cut dome for piston angle. Could be wrong though.
  20. Hey guys, so these cylinders sound like they are going to be pretty sweet. I'm actually having one built in a 4mil setup. I can't wait to see how it runs. Should be a big difference going from a stock stroke stock port with little bolt ons. So I was wondering if anyone has any video of these things in action. I would really like to see what I have to look forward to.
  21. So is it or isn't it a good upgrade. I've been reading up on these and it seems to be a 50 50. I just bought a set off nyuk and am working on polishing everything now. I'm really hoping it's a good setup. And what extactly do you gain in width and all that?
  22. Can you send pics of carbs to jont5284@yahoo.com
