Shit, looks like you could easily cut 100 of them in an hour. That is why I am asking, is there something special about this grille? Maybe 1/4" aluminum or something?
-
What is special about this grille? It looks like it is just a basic sheet metal with some holes.

This is what a stock petcock looks like. Lets use a little deductive reasoning. There are 3 "positions" on the petcock, on/off/reserve. On the backplate behind the knob, reserve is on top, off is on the left, and on is on the bottom. The knob can point to all 3 of these positions, it can't point to the 4th aka the right. So which part do you think you use?

Well, since you posted this in a KAN thread, is it safe to assume it is about him? -
2-sand drag banshees for sale or trade

Which one is called the TARDIS? -
Reading the story, some of his customers are fucking stupid. If you sent a banshee to him to be worked on, paid 4500 for work, then he says the quad was stolen, wouldn't you ask for your money back and for him to pay you the cost of the quad. The article made it seem like they just went, oh ok bye.

Yes

So which is stronger, 40mm axle that is solid or a 40mm axle that is drilled? You still haven't answer this simple question.
-
Only one that doesn't get it is you. Answer the question already, which is stronger, the solid axle or hollow axle.
-
Answer the question. Which is stronger? The solid or hollow?
-
Exactly what I thought. Answer the question, is a 7075 40mm solid axle stronger or weaker than 7075 40mm drilled axle? Length the same on both.
-
is a 7075 40 mm solid axle stronger than a 7075 40mm drilled axle? how about you get the fuck out of here. Again, if this simple fact is over your head, stop giving advise on here.
-
I see you have issue reading. Go back and look again. I will make is simple for you. Solid is stronger when the OD is the same. If this is too hard to understand, then maybe you shouldn't be giving out any advise on this.
-
Yes it is going over your head. A solid axle will be stronger than that same axle that is now gun drilled. Very basic science.
-
It is simple, take that same gun drill axle, and make it solid. It will be stronger.
-
By tube you mean solid or do you mean tubing like used in frames? Reason jja does hollow axle is because mass. A solid axle would be stronger, but if they can make an axle lighter and it still work within the design parameters, why not? Like I said before, most torsional strength comes from the OD of the bar. So drilling out the center might mean you lose a little percent of the strength, but also loose a lot more mass. Shear stress is directly porpotional to cross sectional area. So the less area, the less force it can handle. In bending, the center does see a lot of the stress because it is the neutral axis. The farther you go out from this axis, the more strength you have. It all comes down to mass. Keeping mass the same, a hollow design will be stronger. Keeping size the same, solid will be stronger.
-
Ya, the hollow bar is bigger. This doesn't means solid is weaker when size is the same. Already stated that with same cross sectional area, hollow would be stronger because it would have a bigger diameter.
-
I didn't add any variable. I said if you keep the OD the same on a shaft and only add a center hole, the solid will withstand more force before failure. If you keep the cross-sectional area the same, then hollow would be stronger.
-
No, if size is the same, a solid part is always stronger than hollow. https://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/torsion-shafts-d_947.html In torsional, the center doesn't do much, but it still adds some strength.

That is pretty shitty of the admin to remove the post before anything was done. Seems like all Nate did was make some excuse and blame you and everyone else for the issues. It isn't your problem that he can't keep up with construction timeline and budget. A smart business wouldn't make the move till the new building is finished. Not close up old location and wait till new is open. The 4 months to get power to a dyno is nothing but bullshit. It isn't hard to run a power line for a 240v equipment if the rest of the shop already has power. Nate blaming you for the cylinders need plating and the trans being junk is just another bullshit excuse. Normally you send cylinders to a shop to get plated. If you paid him to for that work, there is no excuse for this. Then for them to not know how many hours they worked on your "deplorable" items. Maybe he should have better record keeping. The fact that he just blames everything on the customer is laughable. Hope paypal sides with you. Was any actual work done to your engine that you requested? -
This guy wont do shit. He is like every other dumb noob. If he really wanted to "fuck" me up, he would come up here, not ask me to come to him. He is the one with the problem, not me.
