  1. I'm still a newbie to the banshee but I have learned a whole lot from this site, I have my engine running great and now have a question about my drive set-up. My banshee had a Amp Link on it when I bought it and I removed it and installed a slider/roller kit. My front sprocket is a 12 tooth and the rear is a 41 tooth, I trail ride and hit a few straights on loose dirt/sand and I blow the tires off most of the time. My rear tire size is 20X11.00X9 , For trail riding and running wide open straights what's a good sprocket combo to go with? Jimmy
  2. Thanks bansheesandrider, When I changed over to the Klotz I drained the ATF and then filled with Klotz and warmed the bike up and run it through the gears using the clutch on jack stands for 5 minutes or so and then drained it again and refilled with fresh Klotz. I bought enough klotz to make sure and flush the ATF out of there. I will still change it on the 20 hour mark just to be safe and after that go 30 hours or so between changes. Thanks. Jimmy
  3. I have a '96 Banshee that I trail ride at a ATV park, it has a lot of sand trails as well as loose packed dirt trails. I have some hole shot knock off rear tires (shredders) that came on the Banshee and they suck as far as traction goes, they only hook up on very hard packed surfaces. What is a good all around(trail) rear tire that will do good in loose dirt and sand trails? Thanks. Jimmy
  4. Well I received my Klotz flex drive 30 and drained the ATF out and put the Klotz in. I went riding this weekend and let me tell you, the Klotz is some great oil !! It shifted smooth all day long and found neutral real easy and the clutch was smooth with NO slipping!! I know people have good luck with the ATF type F and that's good, It just didn't work for me. Thanks Bansheesandrider for turning me on to the Klotz, so far It's working bad a** !! Jimmy
  5. What's on your mind?

  6. My banshee has a AMP link on it and I'm removing it and going back to the stock set-up, are the chain slider set-ups good to go with? Or should I just go with the factory guide on the swing arm and new rollers? Jimmy
  7. Thanks bansheesandrider, I have the glitter as well when I drained the oil and that concerned me, I will order some Klotz Flex Drive 30 in the morning from Rocky MT. Since the stuff is pricey can I just drain the ATF out and add the Klotz and ride 20 hours? Or am I going to have to drain the ATF then add the Klotz and warm the bike up and then drain and add again to flush it of all the ATF? Jimmy
  8. I was riding my Banshee yesterday and hauling A** down a trail and hit a small water puddle and it started reving up by its self for about 2 seconds or so. I have TORS delete, pod filters with outerwears. It did it twice but both times it's when I blew through a little water and splashed a little water. I know water is a no no with the pods so I for the most part slowed down real slow if I had to go through a small puddle. After it reved up I looked down and there was a few water droplets on my filters. Is the water droplets on the filters causing this? or is the water hitting something else causing it? Jimmy
  9. I took the Banshee out for the first time yesterday with the type F fluid and the clutch was smooth and worked great, BUT after riding for 20 minutes or so I noticed it started hard shifting and neutral was harder to find. What do you guys think? What should I put in it? Jimmy
  10. I just bought my Banshee a couple of months ago and just got it about ready to ride, It had clean looking oil in the tranny but I didn't know what was in it. I bought 4 bottles of Castrol type F and changed it and then warmed it up and rode it around the yard a fews times and changed it again to flush out what was left of the old oil. I then rode it down the street a few times and it seemed to shift smoother and find neutral easier. I'm going to be mostly trail riding it and will keep a close eye on the fluid and probably change it after every 2 rides or so, but so far I really like it. Jimmy
  11. I noticed my over flow bottle is in between the add marks when warmed up, since I only need to add less than a cup to top it off, can I just add distilled water or is that a no no?
  12. I bought a Banshee from a guy and it pulled good only up top, run like crap down low. I brought it home and pulled the carbs off and rebuilt them and went with 320 mains, 27.5 pilots, stock needles in the middle groove, air screws 1.5 off seat. I also installed a timing plate and set it at +4, it has T-5 pipes,VF3 reeds, cool head, pod filters, tors delete, trail port, sea level,68 deg. I bought a snail tool and synced the carbs. I took it for a spin down the street and man that thing screams!! Midrange is great, it pulls sweet all the way through! I rode it around the block a few times and brought it back in the garage and pulled the plugs. The plugs are a little dark but I let it idle for a while when I synced the carbs. I'm going to put a fresh set of plugs in tomorrow and run it and do and plug reading. I'm new to the Banshee so I have a question, when I hammered it the bike was smooth as glass all the way from take off to wide open throttle but I noticed a few times when I got off the throttle I felt a small vibration as the engine was coming down, is this a normal thing? Jimmy
  13. I found a guy with a stock Banshee carb and he pulled the needle and measured it for me, and it measured 53mm and had 5N7 stamped on it. The needles in my kit are 53mm also so i'm putting those in and starting in the 3rd groove. I hope the taper on them are right but I should be able to adjust up or down to get it right. Jimmy
  14. I noticed on my stock jet needles they have 6 grooves, the needles in the kit have 5. The needles in the kit appear to have Y151 stamped on them. I'm thinking the wrong needles are in my carbs, can someone measure a stock needle off a vm26 mm mikuni banshee carb and post it so I can be sure? Thanks Jimmy
  15. On the Mikuni carbs, I notice that one of the vent lines on the side of the left carb has a tee and is connected to the right carb. I see pics of other Mikuni carbs on Banshees and they have the vent lines just pointed down and not hooked to the other carb. I'm not talking about the crossover tube for the choke but the vent lines. Can someone explain this? Thanks Jimmy
