I am eventually going to run 110 race gas & bump the compression & timing up just a little for more power. I want to find a thread on how much timing & compression 100LL can hold safely before detonating.
Im going to install topend in the morning & do squish, compression & leakdown test. If everything checks out fine tomorrow, I will be riding it this weekend....I pray all goes well...I have had enough bad luck with my banshee
the choke trick only really help to dail in your pilot jet. The plug chop is to dail in your main jet. So no you can not do the choke trick to fully dail your jetting in. you have to ride the bike to dail in your needle & main jet.
I would do a compression test on the topend of his banshee first. At least that will tell you where you stand on the topend. If the compression is suffient i would do it. that's just me, cause he will need tires for the 400ex & you are going to need an exhaust for the banshee.
Man im trying to learn everything there is to know about a 421 cub. This is my first time building one or dealing with one, so my deep searchs come from not wanting to be in denial about nothing. I want to start as a cast cub & work my way up. I feel I would learn more about what they like & dont like, doing it this way.
SB IF Shearers IMHO I was being sarcastic in the last post. Everybody & there dad quick to say it's not the best pipe out but it's the most used pipe on almost every application. just saying
In our country voice.....Naw come on down here & let us whip up on them up north asses.....just j/king
seriously come on down & let get this East Coast BHQ ride going....this should be our 2nd year going in.
Good search, as I was about to start a topic on advance timing. I'm going to be running 100LL & I want to know how to determine the proper advance timing adjustment. I know it depends on compression, squish, pipes & etc. just say if my compression was around 165 psi & squish was .052, using SB IF Shearers. How much timing could i add using 100LL? What do I look, listen or feel for?
I have not installed my topend yet...I currently have 421 cub, 22cc cub domes cut by Andy at M&M, 100LL of course, 34 PJ's, SB IF Shearers, VF2's, at sealevel, temps 60*- 80* & on what timing to start with.
I will bet with the 400 cheetah if it was an actual race between motors but it's wife vs wife & rite now 4mil's wife is killin'em with the jetting cause she is leaner..& pulling at that ...
BUMP for a GOOD thread......what's the virdict? 4mill getting my bet since his wifey going out with the holes in the jeans.....more air means leaner which = power....
