well......the only carbs that I know of that do the dual choke through a single lever is the stock mikuni vm26 carbs. Other than that most of the aftermarket carbs that are worth a damn that can be added to a banshee have dual choke knobs.

moral of the story......if you had done a plug chop and you knew it was burning the plugs white........why the fuck wouldn't you give us that info? haha.....shit if you said that we could have told you the problem within seconds of seeing your description. We cannot give decent info/ideas on what the problems can be if you hold back info from us.....
-
Dont forget to also pickup some feeler gauges and also a mic........ measurements are important to keep the motor running up to par...
-
DO NOT buy from him.....he's notorious for either sending shit parts or broken parts. As said above the boost bottles put stress on the intakes and cause them to crack.....which in turn leans out your fuel/air ratio (remember....your fuel carries your lubrication) and causes it to destroy your top end. Basically the $30 piece is a quick way to spend another $300.....
-
that can definitely be it.......blowit (Brandon from mull engineering) just did a write up a couple of days ago about running a separate grounding strap from the motor to the frame. He has seen bikes do the no start issue due to bad grounds and he seems to really like the grounding straps.

check your wiring for any melted through spots that are grounding any wires?

Jereme6655 replied to jody breeze's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods

What skids work with full flight +3 arms?
Jereme6655 replied to turbowrenchhead's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
how are skids gonna keep puddles away from you? last I checked the tires are what fling water up and the skids just trap water/mud on top of them.... -

Jereme6655 replied to Free yellow banshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
all we got to say is hang the fuck on when you get it up in the revs......trust me when I say its gonna be a WORLD of difference than your blaster..... -
vook.....his title says base gasket....not head gasket.

trpkkd.....im sorry for your loss. I couldn't imagine having to cope with that......my prayers go out to your family. I believe that no matter what/how you decide to memorialize your son with your banshee you cant go wrong. I think no matter what it will be one hell of a nice bike......besides...it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about it......as long as it means something to you. Again....my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family in your time of grief. Jereme

to accurately read a plug chop you need to cut off the threaded section of the plug while leaving the white porcelain....the brown color that should be on the plug should be at the bottom of that porcelain and be approximately 2mm tall. There's a sticky on the site about how to do a plug chop....it includes photos......read it....

try pulling it off and running it UNDER your crossover tube.......that way it stays running in a downward angle the entire time....
-
oh hell tricked.....that sucks bad.....shit I wish I would have known... I had my motor half built and live over near st. clair shores. Hell if I had known and you needed to barrow something like domes (depending what kind/cc you needed) or electronics, or a head, or anything I woulda driven out to see the races and lend it to ya

changing the oil ratio when it gets colder will not keep it lubricated when its colder out.....you need to install larger main jets to flow MORE fuel and oil through the carbs and into the motor. These are not like the 4 stroke motors you came from where you could ignore jetting and it would run (just not as well)......this is literally the difference between the bike running and being sitting in the garage needing a rebuild....and remember.....if its a rebuild because something went really wrong, your not just looking at rebuild the top end, but also the lower end. so chances are the bill could jump from $300 to $700+ if not more....
-
remember that your oil ratio doesn't mean crap to your motor if your jetting is way off (as your oil/lubrication is delivered through the fuel) lean it out too much and your not getting correct lube. Also remember that you can overheat your motor by getting it OVERLY rich. This is why it is a must to read up on how to do a plug chop and jetting. Also learn how to do a leakdown test as an air leak will lean it out and melt pistons.

best part.....the lady that delivers mail the apartment building my mom manages gets pissed when she pulls up and has to WALK the 30 ft from her mail truck to the wall with all the mail slots. This bitch get paid $27/hr plus benefits plus pension....and all she does is deliver to apartments. She actually had the balls to TELL the complex owner that he should literally cut the curb and sidewalks up and move the asphalt driveway closer to the door so she could park less than 10ft away. And she was dead serious. Even better was the fact that she parks right over the painted "no parking" on the asphalt. Two days after she told the owner this, the tow company that deals with their property saw her parked there with her mail truck. He pulled in, dropped his boom and walked in to her and told her that if he saw her parked in a no parking zone (which is mandated by the fire department there) that she could walk to the rest of her route as he was going to tow her mail truck. She yelled back that its tampering with the mail if he did that. His quote "its not tampering with the mail if I leave it sitting where your truck is bitch"

okay....doubt you did it purposely...but I cant STAND when people use z's on the end of a word to pluralize it. Degreez......what the fuck is that haha. But to answer your question, that's not that bad of fuel consumption for a banshee. These are not 4 stroke motors.....we constantly spin our motors up to twice the revs of most 4 strokes.....and remember....we are running twin carbs. Also....YOU MUST REJET YOUR CARBS WHENEVER THE WEATHER DROPS. These bikes take ALOT of maintenance and a lot of upkeep to keep them running strong, and hard. Your bike might be running really "excellent" right now.......but realistically...it could be running lean and hurting itself everytime you ride it. Remember...its 2 stroke nature to run stronger as you lean it out (and leaning it out can hurt it quick).

4 mil stroker problem
Jereme6655 replied to banshees_are_great__'s topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
id start first by popping off the clutch cover and looking at the kicker gears and idler gears. They go south and you wind up with a frozen kicker and bump starts can shatter the rest of the gears........just pop off the clutch cover first though. -

like j-stand said.....it is not unheard of to have an out of the box bad stator. we've all seen it before.....dude fixes/restores his bike.....thing runs like ass......we tell him stator and he says "cant be its new"........after 3 months of ripping hair out of his head he barrows a buddies stator. Fires up first kick and runs great.......guy never returns to here. We've seen it. -
Jeff's right guys.....magic erasers work wonders. Especially on white plastics that the mud has stained.......
-
trpkkd...... /\/\/\/\....this guy right here can take care of everything you need. He's one of our great site sponsors and ive had a lot of work done from him. Where are you at in Michigan? I ride up north too and I have a pretty decently built up trail motor. Hit me up with a PM if you wanna talk more..... The welding of the crank is to keep it from separating/twisting out of phase. The cranks on the banshees are pressed together pieces and can come apart and really mess things up......so most of us get em welded before we really even start building them. Also hit me up because there is a difference in language here if you ride the ATV Routes up north or if you ride the ATV trails......haha confusing shit.

Jereme6655 replied to Kendrick81's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
go buy an OEM stator and DO NOT COUNT ON SHIT AFTERMARKET STATORS! All sorts of fucked up electrical problems can be had by shitty quality stators. Find a buddy with another banshee or ask the guy to pull a stator from another bike and try it on yours. Bet it clears up....
