  1. thanks for clearnin that up sandrider....i couldn't remember the year that they changed the pad setup over.
  2. Most guys runnin sand drags seem to like the j-arms cause they are lighter in weight. Downside is if you trail ride more often the j-arm winds up being weaker than the a-arm frames and the ball joints seem to be weaker. Also if i remember...the j-arm frames come with a different hub\rotar up front which has a larger brake pad. The a-arms come with smaller pads and are slightly more prone to over-hearting (its rare but it happens). Hope this helps man!
  3. what size pilot jets are you running and what elevation are you at?
  4. The closest place to warren michigan to LEGALLY ride is the mounds up near flint. Other than that it's all illegal dirt and drag riding. Kinda sucks alot, but i mostly ride up north where they have finally started to let the counties decide if they want to let ATV's ride on the shoulder of the roads. Thankfully alot are saying yes.
  5. if you look at the left side of the stock carbs (left side of bike) you will see a orange/yellow fuel drain hose that runs to the swingarm and drips it to the ground. next to the drain hose on the carb float bowl (the dish lookin thing on the botton of the carb below where your air-filters connect) there is a phillips screw recessed in a hole. if you losen this screw you will see fuel drain out the tube and onto the floor (put a pan under it to catch the fuel) The carb adjustment screws are all flat head screws. so don't go messin with flat heads if your unsure of tuning your carbs...
  6. how deep is the rust on the pipes? is it just light surface rust....or is it deeper?
  7. i've always heard that its not good to run a 2-stroke outta gas constantly....been told it gets hard on the engine cause your runnin it out of the lubrication in the fuel. I do know on the stock carbs there is a drain screw on the bowls right next to the drain tubes. if you want you could drain them that way....but i see no real need to do that.
  8. thanks Grmeyer.......i tried usin the search but it kept irritating me cause it wasnt working when i tried it. Thanks again for all the info guys.......this site is freakin awsome...
  9. St. Clair Shores...how bout you? and if she needed rings i dont know if she'd start on the first or second kick..haha
  10. hank....amsoil dominator can be used in sleds......personally for my sled i run amsoil hp injector.....7800 problem free 2-stroke miles.
  11. Hey all....i just recently picked up a 01 banshee from a police auction. its in pretty decent shape....but im concerned about the jetting. It has FMF fattys, v-force reeds and powercore-2 silencers, and a 2-1 air filter. Where i ride in the summer is usually around 70 degrees and 1200 ft elevation. The bike starts always on the second kick....if not on the first. when i first took it for a ride i noticed it has a real bad low speed bog....wants to die if you pin it. but if you feather the throttle to the powerband it starts to scream like it should. I pulled the carbs off and it has #240 mains and #25 pilots..... i have this bad feeling that its way lean isn't it???
  12. The carbs are stock. as to any internal build up im not sure of...... the plugs are almost completely new. When it idles it continues to idle with no problems. I did notice that when you throttle up the right bank seems to cut out until just before the powerband comes back.....
