For sure id tear whole motor down if it's been sitting outside. Replace all the bearings/seals in the bottom end, that would be a must. Probably have to replace stator to. Since your on a Very tight budget, yah just buy a used nice rear shock. Skip the yfz shocks and find a set of used Works Shocks for around $100-$400 depending on condition.

Things I look for in a shee is bad ball joints/bushing in aarms, tie rods, bad swing arm bearings and a bent subframe(pet peeve of mine). Cause a stock banshee swing arm and carrier ,and that blasted chain adjustment is garbage. If it's good then it'll get you by for awhile, but if all that stuff is bad, then you'd be better off buying a after market swing arm. It's really not worth the hassle to be messing with stock swing arm and replacing bearings.

You could just step up to bigger carbs and run the sheare's, that would be enough I'd say. On your current set up. Your bud once you'll beat him, will go with more hp after he gets beat, then you'll want more after he builds a better set up.

Yah I'd shy away from generic elkas, but they are better than stock for sure. Works shocks is back up and running it looks like they just changed their name to worx. They made a pretty decent set up for the price. http://www.worxshocks.com/html/home.html

All my set of hipers leaked like crazy. It was always the middle section where they leaked. They look sweet though, just heavy..

+2 or +4 for play dunning. I had a +0 on my 65hp shee and I had fun with that. But yah more than +4 and its no fun

Meh the only thing worth while in banshees is engine and plastic. Rest is junk stock parts. Replace all the oem parts with high quality after market parts now we're talking.

Might have missed it but will the tinfoil scrape off the rest of chrome I might have left on pipe? I got a rusty exhaust with some chrome left on lower section.

Yah it really is a mistake. Marriage shouldn't be "sharing" everything. Unless a guy has a pretty cool wife who don't care and she don't worry about every little thing. Seperated bank accounts is a much better way to go about it.
