I can't answer that on gas. On alky all we ever did was a tiny amount of pj adjustment after a pass was made, but most of the time no changes. And as for the mass, we never worried about it. I'm not sure I'd do it in something that you are trail riding but for a drag bike it never showed ill effects.

So it dropped the porcelain for the piston in the motor, or just melted the strap? I'd agree with what the others have said about it going lean. There's a million variations of why so you will have to diagnose that. Is this strictly a drag bike? If yes, and you can't get the cyld to clean up and stay in spec I'd have just that one cyld bored, new piston, put it together and run it. Yes the bores are missmatched. I'm sure I'll get flamed for this but most on here are to fucking stupid to pour piss out of a boot so I couldn't care less. You can either spend a little time with a cutting tool and remove some material from the bottom side of the new larger piston to get the weights close, or you do what I would do and just put the fucker in and run it.

if I was to go back to the dunes as a hobby it would be in a SxS. But, I'm not really into the dune thing. Even where I went to the dunes it was just to race, I rarely just went and rode the dunes. I'm pretty content with the boating scene, and don't really see me picking up another hobby. As I get older I'm learning that one hobby per season is plenty, and it's far easier to justify the money if I can do that hobby regularly, rather than just once or twice a month.
