I wouldnt buy pistons until you have a builder look at your cylds to be sure they are within spec for bore size and shape. 9 outta 10 times just because it runs on that bore doesnt mean that the cyld is within spec. Also. DITCH THAT EBAY BUYING BS.... You might save 3 dollars over what a builder on here charges (Often the builders are cheaper than ebay) but the time to build a relationship with a builder is now. Eventually you are gonna need them and theres no time like the present to start building a relationship with them. Ebay wont give you advise, tunning info, or answer the phone if the part you got is wrong.

There are a few options. I know there wont be enough to helicoil but is there enough room to drill and tap to the next size and then drill your head holes to the larger studs? Are there any threads left or are they totaly ripped out? Sometimes you can buy good new studs, clean the holes really good, and cement new studs in and then be sure not to over tighten them. The factory tourqe spec isnt really all that tight. Welding the holes might actually cause more harm than good. There are however some good epoxies that are capable of being tapped if all else fails it might be worth it to look into this option as well.

I have a brand new set of Mattoon billet cases that I bought for a project and have since decided to use a different setup. They are currently setup for 64stroke and are for a small bearing Crank and have the fork window in them. Right now they are patterned for a DM but for 100 bucks more I will ship them to Mattoon and have them patterned to a DMX. Cases are brand new never had a Crank in them. $1500 shipped in the 48.

It doesnt matter what your Mains are, if the bike is too lean to get up in rpm and need the main then they will never play a factor. Being that it will run correct on choke tells me its lean on bottom. Where are your needles set? what happens on a dry rev if you hit the throttle while its idling?
