it was only mentioned once, but the adj timing plate will be the most noticable improvment with the smallest investment. when i bought mine, i watied a few months to put it on cuz i just wasn't that worried about it. after installing, i really regretted waiting so long to put it on. that, with some compression from either a cool head or stock shaved head, and getting the jetting spot on will be your friend. especially help if your launching in 2nd with the 15t front sprocket. good luck!!!

instead of trying to use sockets and c-clamps and what not, just buy the tool meant to break the chain, takes like 20 seconds and no headaches...
-
i went from stock up to 34's and actually had to go down a few sizes.
-
not LS related, but still pretty sweet. i just scored one of those nice ass ball bearing craftsman tool boxes, the one that is like 5 ft wide for $260 because someone dropped something on the lid and dented it. is was like $700 off original price... fuck yea!!

i run a 14, 42 and i like it. seems like a nice compromise between either extreme.
-
shit, vernon, thats just down the block from me... we should eat some lunch or something on your way through.
-
anyone bringin a decent compression tester?? i'm questioning my $30 harbor freight special for accuracy.
-
well, i should have plenty of room cuz i think my site is the same size. i should only have my one trailer cuz i think i'm gonna build something so i can fit both the quads in the back of my truck. dont really wanna hassle with towing two trailers... we will prolly be there around 4 or 5 on wednesday so if anyone is going down that early, hit me up...
-
its all yours buddy. might not be too comfy and there aint much room, but it will be warm atleast. this weekend, i'm gonna work on cleaning all the cushions. that camper was used on a deer lease, so there is no telling, well i dont wanna think about it. up on the hill, i'm sure it will be alot more quiet just because of the less traffic. hopefully my horses, i mean dogs will have some room to relax without ranger bob harrassing me, oh wait, he cant up there huh?? and in case someone is unclear, really cant f n wait

well, just to make sure i have a place to sleep, i went ahead and reserved a site at LSP too. got site 2c so should be close. Not real sure how big the site is cuz i've never stayed there before, but should have plenty of room on site if someone wants to stay there too. holy hell i'm ready..

stock jugs, crank, pistons, head and carbs
springer posted a topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
just as the title says. set of stock jugs, crank, pistons, head and carbs. standard bore, but prolly needs a fresh bore. was kickin about 115 psi with 21cc domes in my cool head. carbs still have TORS on, can get pics if needed. one cap on carb does have chewed up threads, but it will screw on and stay, never had any problems. shipping will be from 76309 zip. $300 plus the ride. trades welcome, but not sure what i need... -
ya, i tried that too. i think i might order a master cyl rebuild kit even though it was fine before i changed anything. you never know...
-
just got my new jugs on and everything put back together without anymore problems. haven't done a plug chop yet due to lack of plugs, but holy hell what a difference. guess i'm ready for the dunes now, well, except for the brake issue.
-
nevermind. life is good again. called jeff at FAST to order everything to split the cases and he suggested a few ways to get it out and it worked. got it out, taking the gun out of my mouth. all is good.

ya, i have one similar that i got at autozone... brakes are now a small problem in the back of my head was gonna put my new jugs on this afternoon, and leave it to me to fuck it up. i was takin a screw out and it fell into the intake but not all the way in, still sittin against the piston. got the magnet to pull it out and it pushed it on in the rest of the way. down to the bottom it fell. guess its time to split the cases. i have no fuckin clue what i'm doin, but hopefully it will go good. shannon, if i mess it up, i blame you. you told me its no big deal and its really easy. i'm sure it is, but i'll still need someone to blame . 3 hour job turned into who knows how long. i hate my life...

well, i almost set fire to my shee last night. i have tried just about every method mentioned so far except checking the master cyl. caliper removed, hold up high, down low, gravity bleeding for 2 hours constantly refilling res. nothing is working. i didnt figure my master was bad because it was working fine one minute, changed swinger and brake line, and put it back together in just a few hours. i will check it like you said and may just order the rebuild kit so there is no question. anyways, thanks for all the input, hopefuly i can get this figured out before the dune trip in a couple weeks. if not, some other members offered to help.

Well I have never been to Imperial so I can't comment on that comparison. But, I have been to St. Anthony in ID and Little Sahara in UT and will say there is an obvious size difference. With the bigger places, it seems like you can get lost for days and continue to find new parts to ride. With Waynoka, you can cover pretty much everything once in just a few hours. I only have to drive 4 hours to get there, but I think it is definately worth it. It has a little bit of everything as far as terrain goes. Fairly big, open dunes, lots of trails, some nice trail climbing areas and the drag scene is usually pretty decent. Summary: pretty well rounded place to have lots of fun. Usually pretty good atmosphere at camp as well. Normally don't have many problems with rangers, etc unless its an event weekend.

ya that would be cool. i bought a vac pump, but maybe, well i dont know. couldn't hurt to try yours though...
-
ya i have been using a vac pump and doing what you said. i also tried several different ways suggested by other members as well and nothing is working. i ready to throw this bitch off a cliff.
-
well, f***. maybe i wont be making it to waynoka cuz i'm bout to set the shee on fuckin fire. i cant get my brake to build any pressure and its pissin me off. i dont know what the hell to do.
-
Ya I was actually gonna try that next but I don't know if its gonna work cuz I don't have any air coming out of the bleeder valve now. I've smelled like dot3 for. 4 days now
-
so i just put my new swinger on and changed the brake line. now i cant get my brake to build any pressure. after hours of trying without a vacuum pump, i searched on here and found that it is much easier with one. so, i bought one but its not helping. i pumped half a giant bottle of brake fluid with no bubbles coming out of the bleeder valve, but still no pressure. is there something obvious i am missing?/ something maybe not so obvious? i have no clue what to do but this is very frustrating. someone PLEASEEEE help me.

i just got a +4 swinger put on last weekend. got some dune ported HJR jugs, stock stroke, gonna put them on this weekend. hopefully i can have the jetting dialed in before i get there... might not have rear brakes though. i dont know what the f*** is wrong, but that shit wont bleed and build pressure.
