  1. i'm obviously not a builder, but i will for sure be there. dont see too many stock stroke stock cyl, but i'll be there with some port work from kevin. long ways away, but i already cant wait.
  2. congrats on the new toy and welcome to the hq. fairly new to working on the shee myself, heres a little advice. when you are ready to buy parts or do some work on the shee, do some reasearch on here for a week. wait a week and do a little more reading and then buy what you want. might keep you from buying things twice.
  3. i was planning on heading up there wednesday, but its looking more and more like its gonna be thursday morning.
  4. i am running a 13 tooth in front with a very similar setup to yours. it works good, but i had that on from when i was running stock jugs. i think i am going back to the 14 up front which is stock gearing. you might already be where you need to be. if anything, buy a couple different fronts and play around. they are cheap enough...
  5. hey guys, off topic, but i have a grille guard for my f-250 that i am trying to sell. i can put it back on my truck and bring it up there if anyone knows somebody that might want it. let me know (i know its a long shot).
  6. no shit, i cant wait. def need a break from screaming kids playing 20 questions all fucking day and it wouldnt hurt to get away from the wife's nagging for a while.
  7. i think i have the same rattle. someone else brought this up and i think someone suggested it might be the brass bushing in the clutch basket. i recently put in a pancake bearing and shift shaft so i checked over everything. no signs of abnormal wear or any metal shavings or anything out of the ordinary that i could see. my clutch basket didnt have much play from the bushing being worn. it had very very little movement if i tried to wiggle it on the shaft. since i cant afford a new basket right now, i just put everything back together. runs fine, rattle is still there. dont know what to do or if that bushing is even really the problem. guess this long ramble wasn't really much help, was it?
  8. shit, i'll just sleep in my truck. tents are a pain in the ass. backseat of my truck is prolly as big as a tent anyways. thanks buddy... that sucks bob, i was wondering if you were gonna be up and running by then.
  9. well, looks like its just gonna be me coming. i'm not bringing the camper or anything, just my truck and my bike if someone wants to share a site. i'll prolly come down thursday as well.
  10. i can prolly share a site with someone if my wife doesn't come. i dont really wanna drag the camper down just for me. too much hassle. i'm content sleeping in the back seat of my truck since it aint staying too hot at night yet. if i come by myself, i wont even have a trailer. shannon, i'll let you know when it gets closer if i need my own site or not. lets hope it doesnt snow this time.
  11. is anyone reserving a site, or are we just gonna stay on the state side? is this an event weekend or anything??
  12. i know it was mentioned already on another topic, but i couldn't find it. who all is planning on going. i normally like to come several days early, maybe tuesday, but i doubt i'll be able to come before friday this time. hoping the wife will stay in OKC so i can have a sort of man trip.
  13. try this: http://www.powerpacequipment.com/eshopprod_cat_5429-28439_brand_229-183-282-286_product_705021.GENUINE_MIKUNI_NEEDLE_JETS.htm i have it book marked, but everytime i go to it, it different i have to go to the site home and navigate through to the mikuni jets page to find the needle jets. this is the only place i've found needle jets and their other jets are reasonable on price as well.
  14. not sure on the front, but i think there is a website where you can order everything you need to make your own swing arm fairly inexpensive. cant remember what it is, but i'm sure someone will chime in, it was mentioned in another post not too long ago. i know if i could, i would do it. if i could tig weld, i would be all over my own, one of a kind swinger.
  15. i have outer wears on mine and dont have any problems. dont know what you mean by occasional, but i hit water every now and then and haven't had any problems yet.
  16. ya, i got bored and thought i would try the red hi temp anodized effect spray paint... bad idea. looked bad ass, until it got hot. now i'm stuck with burnt orange/red/brown/black/poop colored pipes. haven't tried to clean them off, but i hope sand blasting gets it all off. pretty much just decided i'll get new pipes i guess. you can kind of see them in this pic.
  17. anyone have any input on the needle jet tube topic??
  18. i'm in wichita falls, so kinda close and i picked my shee up for 2100 with t-5s, reeds, elka susp with +2+1 up front and extra sand tires for all 4 corners. i was watching dfw craigslist a few months ago cuz i was gonna pick another shee up and saw several in your price range. thing about cl, everything seems to go in phases. if your not seeing what you want now, be patient (i'm not at all) and in a month or so, there will be tons. dont jump on the 4 poke wagon unless thats what you want. seems like everytime i settle for something on cl or similar, what i want shows up for a good price shortly after. i'm sure you've seen this, but it was just posted today. if its not exactly what you want, might make a good starter platform to make your own. http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/for/1703741253.html
  19. i'm trying to get my 34's dialed in as well. i had done some searching before and there was quit a bit of info from a few years ago. shouldn't really change i suppose. i remember reading that the Q-2 is very rich and it was recommended to drop to like a P-8 or P-6 for them to run very good. any input about that wildcard? i was thinking about trying a different needle jet. edit: figured i would post this link since it takes me 15 mins to find it every time i look for it. http://www.mikunipower.com/Catalog/MikuniCatalog18-19.htm might help someone out.
  20. timing plate for sure. ditch the air box and throw on a k&n or go to pods. def get some reeds which you already mentioned. a coolhead with 21cc domes to stay on pump gas would def be worth the $$ too. here is a good article everyone should read before attempting to start jetting. it even has some recommendations for certain mods you do. its a good place to start. http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/jetfaq.html that is the basic bolt on stuff before jumping up to getting your jugs ported. also very much worth the $$.
  21. car ramrod244 is mine. add me but put bhq or something so i know its not some douche...
