  1. good call, didnt think he was talking bout gaskets until i read the title again. i always put gaskets on dry. as mentioned, as long as your mating surfaces are clean and smooth, shouldn't have a leak.
  2. i think passion has a bad ass looking orange/white bike. its the one in his sig on here i think:
  3. with all other things equal, in my opinion of course, yes.
  4. i see you rant a lot on here about trinity and their "kit" that you had a bad experience with. and, i totally empathise with you. but nobody on here is saying that a trinity "kit" will be a great motor. its the CHEETAH that is a good motor. i have a 400 and i can promise you its making more than 68HP. was it fucked up from trinity, of course, but if you fix all the problems, the cheetah can be a great and fun to ride motor. i dont think i have once seen someone recommend the cheetah with any emphasis on getting the trinity "kit". i have never seen anyone say the "Trinity package" is a good motor. we all know that it is not. like i said in the other thread, its a shame that trinity has the rights to the cheetah. that is what has given the cheetah such a bad name. if it were in the hands of someone that knew what to do with it, they would be lethal. as for the serval, good motor, sure. i have riden a couple and they were fun. but if i can build a cheetah that has more bottom end but at the same time has more top end than a cub, where is the downside? other than having to deal with trinity in any way, shape or form of course.
  5. i can dig it. def like it better than the last one, and really liking the sponsor part
  6. sorry, didnt mean to hi-jack your thread, but i was askin 2stroke since he offered his up for trade... good luck with your sale.
  7. x2. i use the import grey as well. a lot cheaper than yamabond too.
  8. and ive never built a dm or dmx, but i call BS on them being the same cost to build as a 400 cheetah.
  9. since you are going to have to buy all new parts no matter what direction you go, the serval wouldnt be cheaper by much. the only thing i can think of is the cost of the power valves. everything else will have to be bought either way.
  10. hell ya, hope it doesnt change. thats gonna be beautiful.
  11. such a shame isn't it? i wish trinity would let the cheetah rights go and let someone who knows what to do with it sell them.
  12. wish i had the cash for these shocks... need any parts in trade??
  13. how much you want for the PV topend?? pv's or block offs?
  14. what size is the pv motor? what type of port job do you have from hjr? i think this one sounds like its gonna come down to who can get out of the hole better. if you say he has a +4 swinger, tell him good luck. if both motors were in an ideal chassis, i would say the pv will take ya all day, but in this case, sounds like you might have it. just race and let us know.
  15. i was being sarcastic.. of course if you build a bigger motor you will make more power. this guy is talking about duning and you are telling him to build a DMX,
  16. hey wait, i swear i saw a video of him riding for 10 seconds up and down the street. that counts doesnt it???
  17. you will likely get a lot of nah sayers since the serval is the new "hot" thing but i can speak from personal experience and i love my cheetah.
  18. personally, i think it would make a killer duner. in fact, this motor will eventually make it into a dune chassis when $$ permits. others might disagree and tell you to build a serval, but the cool thing about a cheetah is you can get the same or more more low end power and torque and still take it to race and hold your own pretty well; the only thing limiting you then is how your chassis is setup. chassis is just like a motor, the more its setup to dune, the lesser of a drag bike it will be and vise versa. as for pump gas, you can set it up for whatever you want; just need different domes. and whatever you do, dont get your domes from trinity.
  19. wow, i guess i took forever to type that cuz your post wasnt there when i started, lol. yes, you are correct. they work off pressure. you can change the jet on the power vavle to have a bigger or smaller hole which would build pressure slower or faster which opens the valve or later or earlier.
  20. so you are telling me that if you build a bigger motor, that it will have more power?? i dont buy it, i need proof. in spite of the trickery sherlock holmes speaks of above, i have a different opinion. comparing the cheetah to a dm or dmx i like comparing stockers to a cub. the power valves effectively lower the exhaust port while closed to produce more torque down low until they open. once they open, you now have an exhaust port as high, if not higher than any other drag ported cylinder (like the cub). you can change the point in the rpm's when the power valves are opened and closed to fine tune to what you like to ride. as far as the 400 compare to the 421, thats no different than any other size comparison. the 400 is actually a 392; stock stroke 68mm bore. the 421 is a +4 mil stroke, 68mm bore. I happen to own a 392 and absolutely love it. riding a pv motor is different than anything you have ever felt. i could easily trail ride the shit out of this motor and it actually has a pretty mean drag port, it just doesnt show until the pv's open. if you are considering one, dont hesitate. they are worth the time and money to get one setup properly. my advise is to find a builder that knows their way around a cheetah. by that, i mean that they know what to fix or watch out for from trinity that has given the cheeatah a bad wrap in some cases. if you use the domes trinity gives you with the "kit" i would almost promise you would have problems. mine needed a few adjustments and tweaks that trinity over looked, but it flat rips now. it really is a fun motor to ride.
  21. def gonna come down to setup, but with all things equal (traction, rider ability etc) the cheetah will take it home every time. Since its actually got power valves on it instead of block offs, its gonna make gobs of torque down low and being a stock stroke, gives it the potential to rev faster and higher; that coupled with the simple fact that the cheetah can flow tons more air gives it the edge, IMO. oh, and i have one so i might be kinda biased...
