  1. I have a 2004 Banshee and am going to tell you all my plans for it and you can help me put them in order from do now to do later. It has FMF fatties and KN now. my compression is right at 120 on both cylinders at 1400 feet 1-Timing plate 2-13 sprocket front 3-CoolHead 4-Reeds 5-Port 6-Rebuild and bore it out (sure I have blown it up by now)
  2. I was trying to figure out why it runs better and the idle smooths out when the left plug wire is removed. Also I know it is different on every bike, but where is a good place to start with the idle screws. I think I have narrowed it down to a carb problem. I just dont know why the fuel is not being burnt in the left cylinder. I think I will have to get a set of different carbs and try that.
  3. Switched the wires and no change. Could this be compression related. ALso when checking the compression do you only kick it over once then take the reading.
  4. the left carb should have the brass tube that in the bowl correct
  5. I have another set of carbs on a different banshee. I think I will switch them out and see what happens Still taking ideas though
  6. I turn the fuel off when it is not running. I pulled the plug and kicked it over and the plug had spark. I started the Banshee and unplugged the left cylinder and the idle smoothed out and almost seemed to run better. The bike now starts first kick every time.
  7. The bike has gas coming out the left pipe and the exhaust is cold. The plug is not burnt at all and has unburnt fuel on it. The right side looks perfect. Does it mean that the cylinder is not firing. 1999 Banshee -FMF Fatties, K&N Pods -310 mains, middle clip, 25 pilot (stock carbs, tors removed) -Airscrew 2 turns out -cleaned carbs -new plugs -compression is good -Temp 45 degrees and elevation is 1400 feet
  8. I checked the bowls and they are on the correct side. I did notice out of the pipe that is leaking oil the exhaust is cold and the other side is hot.
  9. Yes I removed the bowls while cleaning the carbs
  10. Ok now I am confused. Went out this morning first kick and it started. There is alot of gas/oil mix coming out the left pipe.
  11. Ok I will give you the specs then the problem. 1999 Banshee -FMF Fatties, K&N Pods -310 mains, middle clip, 25 pilot (stock carbs, tors removed) -Airscrew 2 turns out -cleaned carbs -new plugs -compression is good -Temp 45 degrees and elevation is 1400 feet The bike will not start cold. If I spray a small mist of starting fluid or gas into the carbs it will fire up and run great (I know not the best Idea). There was oil/gas coming out the left pipe, I think that is fixed. Any help would be great. Yes I searched, found some help tried those things and it has brought me here. Thanks in advance
  12. Good info. There will be a group of about 15 coming down from Nebraska on May 1st. Should be a real fun time.
  13. I know that this is different for each bike but the idle screws are complety out and I need a starting point. The bike has KN pods, FMF Fatties and that is it. Thanks.
  14. they are all the way out so where would be a good starting point.
  15. How many turns from full in should the idle screw be.
  16. My other banshees have the tors. That stupid air screw was confusing me. Thanks
  17. I just bought my third Banshee a 1999 and it has a different set of carbs and I was hoping to get some specs from these pictures. I know they are Mikuni and that is all I know.
  18. Nobody else has an opinion on which is a better set of pipes
  19. Since buying my first Banshee a little over a month ago I have went on a Banshee shopping spree. I now own 3 Banshees. I 2004, 2003 and 1999. All of the bikes are coming with different parts and I am planning on putting the best parts on my 2004. I am running dual K&N's and Pipes. Which is a better pipe the Bills or the FMF fatties. I am currently running the Bills and like them. Just looking for an opinion or two. Thanks. I LOVE BANSHEES.
  20. I am going to pick up a set of haulers for my Banshee. It is mostly stock with pipes. The question is what size Haulers. I searched and searched and found so many different options. My head is starting to hurt and figured I would like to know from people who have ran the different sizes. I am planning on staying with an eight paddle setup. 22x11x8 22x11x10 20x10x10 20x10x8
  21. I am currently running Bills Pipes and I really like them. I have never had any other pipe so I dont know what to compare them to, but I noticed a huge difference from stock. They gave me alot more low end and I can really feel them pull from the mid to high.
  22. I am looking for an all around bike. I ride mostly in the sand. I have Bills Pipes and that is it. I want to be faster than everyone of my freinds and their piped Raptor 700. I just want to make sure I am putting parts together that will help and not hurt. I dont want to just throw it together with no purpose. I hope this makes since to people.
  23. I use the search alot. It works well when looking for something specific. I am looking at a large range of things so it was not working the best. I should make a post for what works the best to get sand out of my vagina.
  24. yeah that came out wrong. That is why edited the post.
  25. Has anyone done a write up of how different modifications will affect the performance. I know each bike is different and results will be different. I am just wondering because I am wanting to keep a reliable bike. I want to know how far I can take it before it becomes more of a drag bike. I see alot of banshees where I ride and most of them stick to the sand drags. Is there a specific order you should do the mods to maximize the performance.
