  1. get the 200W x1 channel stator he has. Also get the adjustable timing plate while your at it.
  2. I guess I'll bring my stock silencers also so if need be I can pretend to bolt them on...
  3. whats up with the chat room? It says I cannot join an unmanaged channel without identifying my nick...I fergot how to identify my nick too
  4. yea I wantd to shift, but I could not pull 4th on the steepest part, not even a power shift, that hills is steep as shit and the sand is really soft near the top. I did not even see anyone else going up that part. I'll take some new pics of my plugs soon.
  5. Hey guys, the date is coming close and I have a few questions I need answered to before I leave. 1) I have FMF Fattys, they do not have spark arrestors. I do not have money for spark arrestors. Can I still ride at dumont? What the hell is there to catch on fire anyways? 2) Coming from San Diego, what exit should I stop at to top off my tank in my truck. I only have a 15-20 gallon tank. 3) Fees, does my glamis permit I had to pay $90 for count for anything up in dumont? Do I need to pay a fee? 4) Jetting, what is the elevation at dumont? Thanks I sure Hope I can still make it and that I don't need spark arrestors.
  6. I have a stator in really good shape (like new) with the stock timing plate and voltage regulator for $100...But I can't sell it for $25 DAMN!
  7. mine is red, white and blue ..............And silver and back but eventually ill fix that problem
  8. Hey I finaly got mine running too. Jim, the 370's were too rich after I changed the domes for whatever reason. I also lowered the needle one position and it sputtered like hell on the top end..even misfired.. I changed them to 350's and put the needle back on the 3rd clip (raised it back up to the 3rd) and it ran 100% better. Still sputters a little on top when I'm reved out, usualy its beause I need to shift, but on some hillclimbs I could not pull 4th I could not pull 4th ont he steepest part of patons valley, but when Holding WOT reved out in 3rd it would start to sound kinda sputtery towards the top.???? I looked at the plugs after riding for a while and they were chocolate brown on the top and bottem of the porclin, but the mark on the electrode arm was a bit low. I think. I could take a picture of them if you need. Did you port my engine different than Inflames? I rememer I asked you to tailor my 12-port down a bit so it would not be drag only. It now pulls all the way from bottem to top, and its definately fast for a 350 with stock carbs and suspension. It's hard for me to hit 6th with the stock shocks, but I manage to pull it off anyways. Same thing at the bottem of the hills, I just lean back and nail it I rode Inflames porting and he was having the same trouble with mid as mentioned in this post, he has almost the same setup as I do. FMF Gold Series (Little different than my fattys), Air box lid removed, stock carbs. He was running his needle jet 1 clip higher than I ended up, and a 360 main. His topend hit alot harder than mine does but I pull into it a bit faster and its much smoother with the 350s. Some of your cuts into the cylinder were so perfect we did not even notice you had put them there, they looked like they came stock that way! I now see why it is called a 12 port
  9. Why pull the head? It seemed to run ok the next day. Luckily I caught the loose plug before I did any serious riding Compression check checked out ok 170/170 Maybe I'll catcha next time.
  10. Anyone see my running the hill (TEST) saterday night? The banshee was running like shit, because my carb clamp to the manifold was loose and one of my sparkplugs was 1/2 out too... It was runnign fine then I let me someone else ride it and they did not notice it was running like crap, I noticed it was running like shit on the way to the hill but could not figure out what was wrong. Hopefully I did not suck in any sand (but I think it caused a little air leak) and I have no idea why the sparkplug started to come out, I must not have tightened it quite enough...Doh...But the lights were bright as shit anyways Checked compression in the morning and both cylinders were at 170 so i think im stillg ood to go...FInaly got this thing very close to dialed in!
  11. I also have the ones that seal by themselves, the O-rings expand with heat.. They work great. I would try putting some grease on the ends of the pipes, thats what I do to mine, also makes them easier to install as well as remove, unless all the grease cooks off.
  12. I would use locktight on screws, silicon can prevent yor from tightening, Siliconing the lights and seals wounds reasonable though. The ricky stators lock in with a ring so they never fall out (one piece design), unfortunately they do not have a place to mount the stock key switch, so you have to re-locate it. Whats the difference between lazer-stars and trailtechs?
  13. damn I want on of them manifolds when I get carbs
  14. I disagree, theres nothing like having to charge batteries at the desert! That sucks!, I jsut dump in more gas and go... I hear the glowplug thing, I went through 6 in 2 hours, but that was because my engine was defective Electrics are boring to me, they just sit on my shelf and collect dust... Looks like I'm going to have to keep my engines since No1 wants them I haven't driven my RC for about 4 months, I hope I have a few hours to break it in teh .25 before Dumont... Anyone bringing a charger for that can charge my hump pack? The one big peve I have with the savage is changing the servo battery, it take me like an hour! Lanky, the RB.28 will be out soon (probably in the $300-$400 range), I'm sure it will be a great motor, probably better than the .27 for the dunes. If you want a hopped up savage I'll sell mine for $600. LOTS of aftermarket and everything to Run it Glow chargers, tons of spare parts too.. I can provide a list of mods if you interested, and I have 2 engines for it. I just don't have time for it right now and I need a swingarm for my Banshee to keep the front end down...I'll have over $1000 into this shit, but I know I won't get that much ... It has aluminum race shocks, aluminum shock towers, reverse, tuned pipe, dual tank mod, 4 gear diff mod, Integy side chasis braces, skid plate, humppack, failsafe, Lots of spare parts + more...
  15. I have an S25 and a 21BB for sale...will sell both together for $160 the S25 is still factory sealed BRAND NEW... (.25) $110 the 21BB has 1.5 gallons though it but runs fine... (.21) $50 Both come with 1-way, pullstart, and the S25 has a brand new glowplug... Let me know! I would destroy a maxx, I constantly break my savage! Im ahrd on these things, and BMX jumps have their way of breaking or bending shocks and towers. I HATE ELECTRICS! the only reason the TC3 would win a race is because its tiny and weights about 1/5-1/6th the weight...But bring it to Dumont or Glamis and we can race up the fun hills or we can both jump our cars off the roof, and see which one stays in one piece
  16. The oil is currently Castor Oil in the mixed jug, I always shake it up before I ride though.. When I mixed it I planned on running it but my bike broke down... after i use up my castor Im switching to MC1
  17. I heard the quick releases suck ont he steel whips, can anyone verify...I don;t want to spend $100 on a steel whip, but im tired of screwing with the non wuick relese mounts because the flag always breaks off right at the mount and you need a vice or else alot of patience to get it off.
  18. I need another red so i can stick them on, the yellow one I have does not match anything. Anyone want to trade a new version yellow for a new version red? I have one of the old ones too maybe it will be worth something some day heh...
  19. are you sure your pilots are not plugged? or is your air filter clogged (too much oil or dust?)? Nice even smoke out of both cylinders at idle? Have you tried changing the spark plugs? I ran the stock pilots a litle lean with my fatties, and had a 320 main and it ran fine with K&N and airbox lid removed, If the weather is cold, you might need to go larger on the main, it does sound like your midrange is off, but I can't help but think midrange is also affected by the jet size, since the needles taper affects teh rate of the needle's diameter into your main jet.... I don't see how mains ONLY affect WOT (when the needle is compleatly out of the jet) But I would also imagine that they would affect your midrange somewhat also (as in if your main is just not big enough period...). This is why you need to adjust the main jet first, then find the needle settings....I would say try the 300's if you already bought them, if they help maybe try 320's (Test you WOT only) or go inbetween with 310's...Whatever yuo find gives you the most power at WOT, while your plugs look nice and brown is the keeper. Then adjust your needle settings acordingly this will adjust your midrange....I would go with a larger pilot too either a 27.5 or a 30... Make sure you bring a few clean plugs to do the testing as the plugs are eaier to read when new.. Keep the used plugs for spares...
  20. lol, What I heard was that Oil degrades the octaine fuel in about 2 weeks. The container is sealed but its just a plastic Jug. I would put it in my truck, but race gas is leaded, + it has premix in it (which I guess would lube my trucks topend? heh ) it will be 5 weeks by the time I get to use it... Im guessing the other container should be fine since it has not been mixed. So if I top the one with 4 gallons off with an extra gallon of 110 that should help right? I don't want detonation!
  21. nah it was late last night, I did get the cylinders and head back on though... It should be together soon, that is if I don't mind worknig on it in the freezing cold at night. I'll put them on with the lined side towads the cylinders. thanks, JI
  22. I have been having some troble with my banshee, so i have TONS of gas that has been sitting for about 1 month. 1 5 gallon jug and 1 4 gallon jug. I think the 5 gallon jug is fine, as it has not been mixed with oil The 4 gallon jug is 50/50 with 110 and 91...It has has castor 927 mixed in it for about a month. If I dump a gallon of fresh mixed 110 in it will this be good enough or should I just have a large fire? Have not had a chance to check my compression but its probably around 175...I'm flat broke so yes it does matter
  23. yea, don't lose the Jesus clip in the sand. They call it that because when you are out at glamis on a trip and the clip flies off into the sand you go.... "awww Jesus!"
