  1. damn dude, what kinda oil do you use?
  2. Thanks Walter, it really helps. Banchetta, Jim recomended 45-50 pilots and 160-175 mains...I guess that leaves a ton of sizes I will need to try dosent it?
  3. Banchetta,I'll have to ask Jim what to get. I plan to put in V-force 3's. My other mods are 3 deg timing advance, Noshead and Jims 12-port, and everythign else in the sig. K&N and such. My Jetting is typicaly like what it is when we were at Dumont.
  4. well I missed out on the Pro-design deal, let me know when and where to send the paypal.
  5. I would not worry about it, jsut try not to do it anymore, I did it on mine for years and never had a problem. I guess from using good oil or just being plain lucky
  6. I dunno man, I think your 600R will have a tuff time going up sand dunes, and racing down the sand drags....But im sure on the street your new toy will be much faster...I don't honestly think you can comapre them. Did you have anyting done to the shee or was it a slow stock one?
  7. I used to coast down hills with the clutch pulled in and when i split my cases to weld the crank SDD pointed out that my rod had lost all of it's heat treatment.
  8. sounds like a problem with the CD player's pre-outs.
  9. I'm applying for Grad school College end next week Low paying jobs like what? Paying someone 10 cents an hour to put together a Nike Shoe? Yea, that sounds really fair. So your sayng it is perfectly reasonable to exploit people in other countries to increase profits in the United States? And for our Big guns to exploit our labor over hear elimination the middle class we once had? I know I know, everyone thinks of themselves as middle class because they are not poor, but the difference between our middle class and being poor is no where near the difference between have real with and being middle class, few million dollars is nothing to some of these people, so the way I see it there really is only 2 classes in our society. The US has way more money for Health care than canada, so say it is impossible or it can't happen is ignorent. IMO you have to be open to new ideas and not just shoot down everything that imeadiatly does not sound feasable. I didn't say it was something that can happen overnight, but we are spending 5 billion dollars of tax payers money on a war a month on war and you don't think we could afford some sort of free health care? I didn't say it has to be shitty like canadas, but another fact of the matter is that people don't go to the doctors over here unless they have a) good health care benefits or they are dying... For only millions (not billions) of $$ we could have runing watter throughout the world? Why Dosent the US do that if you think we are so concerned about helping other nations? My definition of a strong leader is a little different, by my definition our society cannot accept strong leaders. A Strong leader is someone who while helping the society to thrive and florish, is capable of teaching it's people well enough to continue running things after they step down or resign. There is no place for strong leaders in out society. In our society we elect a leader and expect them to run the show for us. But thats a different definition, from a different perspective... A medical degree is far from useless. I see what my G/F has do deal with and some of that shit is just plain crazy and I could not put up with it. But I disagree on the people who work fast food, they always short me on fries! lol Again, I did not say I'm compleatly against the war, but I do feel that the way bush handled things makes many nations look down on ours. And to think that we have not killed hundreads of Innocent people over there is also a mistake, however inevitable it may have been. Ducman I don't believe your capitalist comment at all, plenty of people make decent lives in other countries (and our own)through something called profit, not capital! But your equality definition is right on, equal opertunity is NOT the same as everyone being equal, that would suck! RebelBanshee, yes I consider it an attack, but who's to say that Iraq was involved. Thats like getting beat up, because your friend beat someone up kinda isn't it? Not exactly of course. heh. Gargamel Right on I hear you man! and finaly, the US governments purpose cannot any longer be the same as it was when our nation was first founded, and the only way a government can continue to operate is to be flexable and react to new problems and needs of it's people. The health care thing was onyl an example.
  10. your so far off you just fell of the edge of the earth... 1) the reason there were not protests durring WW2 is because there was no real reason to protest, no matter how you look at it, thee was only one solution, to fight, wether over our own land or another. We were directly being attacked by other countries, in fact, we did not go to war untill after we were attacked. I don't think people have changed that much over the past years as far as their views on war, it not that there were no "pussies" as you say, its simple that that war was COMPLEATLY about something else. There were no conflicting views, nor alternative actions. We were only 100% defending ourselves. 2) I think you just figured out what I ment by there is no way to have a true democracy through capitalism only a "specialized form" that is a weak democracy or even a special form of a republic. peoples votes do nto even matter, only votes from the electoral college. 3) as far as health care, think of it this way, you pay for it anyways, wether you use it that month/week/day or not, so why not jsut pay a tax instead, Either way your paying for it...And besides, who said it would have to be directly an additional tax? Taxes are already increasing for the war etc....So your going to end up paying more taxes either way Besides, it was just an example The Trouble is, Capitalists do not end up paying taxes 9 times out of 10, they find loopholes in which they themselves create, or are refunded in other ways. For example they may donate to a political campaign to help someone win, who in turn pays them back in other means, then the can write it off their taxes even though they were really paying for a favor...Of course tracking things like this is almost impossible, because the complexity of the system, and the way they do it is easily hidden and masked. While the rest of us 98% give up a shiload to pay our taxes, and have a hard time writing huge portions of it off. statements like "we have gotten along fine without free health care are a bit bold"...This depends who you talk to. Hundreads of people die every day because they cannot afford healthcare. I think you just want to argue cdcoxwell, Ahh I had yo confused with someone else, I rmemebr you PMed me a while back for something, but I fergot what it was I helped you with, or if I did lol...Now if only I could get my own damned banshee running correctly. As for the unemployment thing over the US it is at a pretty low level, the point is that Recently, it COULD be even lower! its just high enough so that there is a reserve army of labor, and jsut high enough so that if you refuse to work because your not getting paid enough, that there will be just enough people willing to work that we can undercut ourselves and help the wealthy get richer, but yes Historicaly it has been higher. SANDSTAR, there is always someone who will be willing to work for less than your making, and might even do a better job, when they have nothing at all. Yes they want you to work as hard as you can to secure your position, but if your working twice as hard as someone else who does not have to worry about it, shoulden't you get paid more rather than jsut "not get fired"? I'm guessing you don't live in Cali either.... I graduate next month and have been looking for a Comp Sci type position for the past 2 years and have found NOTHING. even with a high college GPA...And it sounds like your suggesting that it is Moraly Ok to pay people slave labor wages in other countries because thats all these jobs are worth? Dude think about it! thats not the reason! the reason is simply to make MORE capital than they would be making here, and to compeat in the Global Market. If there was 100% employment then the power would be in the hands of the workers and not the companies, becase we could quit working if the conditions were too bad and they would be forced to pay us mroe because they need people to work so they can make their money!
  11. me too I need more Carb info you go to SDSU right?
  12. Your exactly right! Outsourcing is a huge problem, of which I see no solution for if we continue with Capitalism (note There is a Huge difference between Making Capital and Making Profit), we can only see how things will turn out.... It would be easy to say that we should simply not do it, but then all the other countries in the world would still exploit the poor ones and we may not be able to compeat int he world market. So I really dunno, but at least we can see there IS a serious problem with it. As for free health care, it is entirely possible, like I said if we can afford to go to war we can afford free health care! We are vastly more wealthy than Canada and they have free health care!?! so why not! Again I believe this has to do with the way a capitalist society works. If there is not profit in free health care for the big capitalists then why would they want to have any part of it? In fact, it might even make more unemployment because citizens would not die off as fast! Especialy the poor ones, who there are already too many of.... IMO our society is run more by Capitalism than than through a true Democracy. Capitalist & Democracy do not make any sense when combined if you really have a strong understanding of both words, how can something truely be both!??!?! And this is why other countries look at us so confused Again, note the huge difference between capital and profit. looking at a small part of the US called California, we have a very unique problem. yes there are jobs flipping burgers etc, but these Jobs even when working 60+ hour weeks do not provide enough $$ for both healthcare, transportaton, and a place to live. I mean look at the cost of housing and apartments here! And if your workign 60+ hours a week to make ends meat, good luck finding time to look for a better job! Crazyness I tell ya! latez,
  13. Yea I agree, while drugs are bad , including alcahol heh. The association the media makes with the situation is not entirely correct. See, in our society we are always looking for a cause-effect relationship, in fact that is the way we are taught to solve problems. But sometimes things are more complicated than this. there may be a relationship between crime and druge users, or violence and TV, but it does not prove which is the cause and which is the affect. Not to mention that the media focuses on "certain specific" crimes commited typicaly by minorities. And why is that a couple grams of crack can put you away for years or life, while it takes TONS of cocain to get the same punishment? I mean they are both bad horrible forms of the same horrible drug! the reason is, because poor minorities cannot afford the good version of the drug and we want to get rid of these people, while the law would be to harsh for famous actors and musicians who abuse the more expensive form...I think it's kinda fucked up! And in another sense the media rarely video tapes white color crimes and people getting arrested, even though many of these horrendiously rich people have may have cheated hundreads of thousands of people or stolen billions of dollars in one form or another. When someone commits a monstrous white collar crime such as stealing millions of dollars through the internet or giving out insider tips that affect Hundreads and thousands of people in serious ways! They are not typicaly thrown on the ground and beaten up before being arrested. But if someone Robs a drug store and gets caught they will likely end up on cops... Damned media...
  14. you have some of it right, perhaps, read it again.
  15. It's funny, because I have heard so many of these, but can't seem to remember what movie they are from.
  16. Dude! your fucked up sentance does not even make any sense. Actualy this is IS what I have been saying all along. Perhaps you should learn how to read! Jsut because i do not like Bush does not mean I do not like america! Can't you get that through your skull yet?
  17. News Flash, I just recieved this letter via email, it is nothing more than a political add. It has little weight to me in comparison the the real letters from classmates who have family and friends there. cdcoxwell, tuff shit! while all these facts about Iraq may be true, I just feel we should concentrate more on fixing our country and give a shit less about others...We spend so much on war, when we could have instead provided free health care for everyone in the US for less money, or feed hundreads of thousands of starving people in our own as well as another country for less than the cost of this war. some of you may not care about healthcare because you are covered. But MANY people do not have health care in our own country, or have such horrible care they people are afraid to go to the doctor untill it is too late because they don't want to pay the bill to make sure they are ok...And yes there is probably a few who would abuse the system of free health care, but on the other hand would you? I know I have better things to do than hang around my doctors office all day, and so the benefits of free healthcare outweigh the negatives. Shit even Canada has free healthcare and they have no where near as much power and wealth as the United States. Hitler and Iraq int he same paragraph, we went to war for COMPLEATLY different reasons, Hilter was about to take out the entire globe, and was a HUGE diret threat for the United states as well ass the entire REST of the world. Our position in Iraq has NOTHING in common with WW2 NOTHING! THere wer almsot 0 protests durring WW2, because the circumstances of that war were ENTIRELY different, I can;t believe you would even TRY to make an association between the two! What about our education system, where the wealthy and less than 1% of the rest of the people are the only ones who can get a "prestigious education" and where the largest thign SAT and standardized testing correlates with is not knowledge but the wealth of your family? As I said I'm not compleatly against the war, I'm just upset with the way things are being handled. Our country has serious problems with unemployments, Medial/ Health care/ and the education system to name a few... Who gives a shit if we improved Iraques hospital system staffing by creating new jobs for nurses and doctors by blowing people up! We need to fix the shit over here first, f*ck Iraq. And Yes God Bless America!
  18. lol Brooke! No shit! but these letters are NOT coming from the professors, they were coming from other students family members, and friends and they were simply sharing in class when the topic came up and we heard both sides of the discussion. of course the media will never be allowed to fully video tape everything that is going on, it caused too many problems durring Vietnam, which is an entirely DIFFERT story, but none the less, it is suprising that we even get to see what we do.
  19. Why look at how the entire rest of the world percieves us? Hmmmmmm LET ME THINK! Maybe to widen my perception of the situation from MORE than one viewpoint, instead of a narrow interprative perception. If people always only followed what they were told think about what the world would be like! Maybe because Legitimation with force is never the correct answer. The church says the earth is flat so it must be! And we all know that the rest of the solar system rotates around the earth. Who CARES what other people think, im a christian so the only opinion that matters must be the churches! LOL Did you know that it was only in the 90's that the church finaly admitted they were wrong about heliocentric theory? This is why it matters what the REST of the world thinks. f*ck no I won't get out! I love this country and support our troops, I do however not agree with the way Bush is running things, and I never said I was against the war either! Posting my viewpoints and trying to understand others is doing MY part for this country. Just because I see where there could be improvement and write about it has NOTHING to do with not supporting my country, it's those of us that accept what they are told, and do no voice there opinions (when they differ from those in power who are running things) that need to re-think about doing their civic duty! Michael Moore makes some good points in his films I especialy like "The big one", but it sucks that he has to distort facts to do so. Like when he talks about the Missel manufacturer in Bowling For Columbine, where he indicated that missles are made in the same town as those unfortunate students, he fails to neglect the fact they are were strictly Defensive missles like patriots that are used to defend and not to attack and blow up others! or about the plaque (spelling) on the airplane that supposedly states proudly that it succesfully killed thousands of people, which actualy just lists staticsics and a little info about the number of bombhing runs and it's use in the war... its easy to twist facts or narrow the interpretative perception of them, which is why it is VERY important to look at things from various perspectives, only then can you fully understand your own.
  20. Well unfortunately not all the people over there feel this way, from letters classmates have read at my university from family members or friends over there; we hear that a number of american soldiers have taken their own lives because they do not believe in what they are fighting for, we have also heard things compleatly the opposite from this letter you have posted. Was this from someone you know? From the letters we have heard about in class, soldiers say the feelings about us being over there are not very positive, while some support them, more want us to leave. From what I hear they sometimes have to fire on civilians because they do not know wether they are in danger or not (because of the way the Iraqies (however that is spelled) are fighting and using horrible tactics to suprise your troops). The firing on civilians without being sure of the threat, is part of what has driven some of our soldiers to take their own lives... Maybe the letters in class we have briefly discussed are seeing another side of the story than the national gaurd. I do not know....But I don't understand what this guy ment about John Kerry, it sounds more like a made up letter to support Bush than to tell what is really going on over there.
  21. thanks jim...on behalf of everyone with your engines..we love you!!! . awesome!
  22. just to make a point as to looking agt this from only a single perspective....Everything is only percieved from a ospecific perspective, after all we are only human. But, right can be wrong and wrong can be right depending on your point of view... Many countries would consider us the terorists. Perhaps not physicaly, but economicaly, which can in the end be JUST as devistating, if not more. Just another perspective, but it's no wonder so many countries hate americans in general, because we consider ourselves a democracy (I think its a fucking weak ass POS democracy but Hey I guess its better than most countries), which means that the majority of americans SHOULD share the views decisions and take responsability for the actions our governemnt and military make. Another thing to mention regarding the war to all those young people...Do you realize that we will be paying this war off through increased gas/taxes etc for the next MANY years! 50 years or so more than likely, while the people dictating i are all rolled over in their graves? And finaly, it's not just about should we be there or not regaurding Bush, it is also about the way Bush went against the UN and MANY other countries disregaurding them all, blowing them off and ignoring all other opinions etc. It's about the WAY Bush is running things and the decisions he is making, not just about wether or not he made the right decision to fight over there or not. Another move that will potentialy have horrible affects on our economy and foreign relations for years and years to come. Perhaps there will be even MORE terrorism now, and more enemies of the US. And another note depending on where your views come from, we have likely killed more inocent people over there than were killed in 9-11 to begin with. I know war is war, but 2 wrongs do not make a right. And yes those POSs fight dirty, but innocent lives are innocent lives... Also the timing was horrible for the war, which has added to the situation, we are right smack in the middle of a long religous war of which we should care little about But we jumped the gun and went right in, after all who cares about the rest of the world right?.
  23. I didn't say anything about Everyone who likes bush is stupid or anything? Your right, I didnt take a stance, I don't have to to review all the damn dirty things he has done right now...Gotta study for finals so I can graduate... Like I said everyone can think what they want and I am in NO way saying electing someone else would have been better..I mean look at the choices we get stuck with! They all SUCK.... My Point wasen't that we helped Iraq, it is that the US is the one who helped sadam get into power in the first place, and gave his country 1/2 the crappy weapons they have. Television, newspapers etc never mentions any thing like that! People think we are just taking out the bad man and fixing the country when they don't even realize that we also are somewhat responsible for the state their country is in! I honestly don't rememebr all the details and facts I found last year, but there were enough to make me not like Bush at all!... And NO I do not think the average american really understands or follows politics other than what they see on TV or read in the newspaper.... I have no idea what your talking about with a plane ticket..?!
  24. Banchetta THeres is really that much difference with the intake?!?!I was just going to get the rubber one I thoguht they were the same thing, jsut not as cool looking. Or do you mean that is more the difference between stock ported reeds and V-force reeds?
  25. I did not read the entire thread and everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but I must say the origionals posters ignorence makes me sick! it's not about running away from anything. or atacking a country because they attacked us first!..You have to do more research about the past history of our country and Iraq, sure Sadam needed to be removed, but its 1000x more complicated than that. Or attacking antoehr country because of terrorism in ours? Some people even have reason to beleive that the Government WAS aware of the threat to the towers, and that nothing was done, just so buch COULD go to war. Now I'm not sayign I support this, but you need to be aware of as many views as possible to understand why people might not support bush. Do you know who origionaly gave Iraq their power? We did! We gave them power to attack another country (Iran) when we were fighting with Iran. Do you know who was the last person to screw with Iraq? Bushes Dad! So why are we REALLY over there? if we did not know for sure that had weapons then why did we go? How do you think all the other people feel with family members over there that are commiting suicide because they do not believe in the war themselves? Why don't YOU go over there to fight if you believe in it so much? What about All the OTHER things Bush has done wrong. Do you agree with his decision to go against the United Nations? Do you ever watch News on NON-american stations to understand other countries views on our war? My Guess is you watch the news or read the paper, and accept what is presented to you. Just as the average american does. they think they have enough to analize and base their decisions and there views, but the mdeia makes it seems as though there are always only 2 options, support or do not support, where is the middle ground?... Can't blame people though, who has the time to REALLY understand things? Yes the media shows us a very Twisted distorted view of what is REALLY going on, there in it for the MONEY. It jsut seems arogent the way this was posted. Everyone has their own opinions, but instead of sticking to what you currently side with perhaps you should look deeper to REALLY understand why people do not like Bush. Hell I voted for him myself origionaly, perhaps he was the better of the 2 evils. IMO the whole systems sucks! Pick your Poison! If you have read this far into this post, thanks for your time.
