  1. I don't understand how this would do anything, if there is spark and the fuel ignites what good is MORE spark?
  2. grease should hold them in no problem. I don't understand the problem you are having?
  3. It's all in the nick.... IMO Rolling Rock is cheep beer. You guys would crack u if you saw my bedroom with all the different beer labels around it untill I ran outa space.
  4. Pull the plug wires off the spark plugs and tell them if they can kick it over they can ride
  5. I wish I had some funds, I want to switch to liquid but really should replace my case that has been built around air cooling. Want a PC76 with a chevette heatercore mounted to the top. My friend is working on a homebrew phase change I'm helping him with right now. I can't afford shit though at this time but would like to liquid cool like the Banshee
  6. thats very untrue. AMDs can take alot more voltage, you must be thinking back to Thunderbird days when they would overheat. My friends new intell runs hotter than my older AMD. Your information is a bit dated. It suprises me that you correct me when you don't even know what ISDS is... Show me an Intell that will overclock better than my 1700+ does air cooled. I have never sceen an intell OC to nearly 90% of it's speed, unless phaze change, or Liquid nitrogen cooled. Most of the problems in the past few years were people not downloading the 4 in one drivers for the Via Motherboard Chipsets. That is much more Via's fault than AMD who simply makes the processors. Intell makes their own motherboards and chipsets, which is why there was typicaly less problems. However if people would update their drivers more often they would have alot less problems. AMD has changed significantly and is jsut as good as Intell who has inflated their numbers and requrie you to raise FSB to overclock. I'm not biased and would consider buying an Intell system, but to say that AMD's are flakey and slow and hot is just not the case. You have some catching up to do. The only way I have sceen a pentium more durable than an AMD is because Intell uses a heat spreader over their cores and AMD's leave their brittle cores exposed. However even the newer cores are much tuffer than the older ones. Many prople break their chips trying to remove the heatspreader on intells for direct die cooling. After installed AMD's are ALOT less sensative to voltage than Intell and hence AMD's are more durable IMO, that is after you get them installed, I'm not talking about throwing around CPU, throwing them at the wall, or driving them over with a truck. yes they have to access the HD. But high processing power is not typical used for things like plaing movies or music off the computer, it is used mostly for gaming, or other 3d affects. Some things liek compression and phjotoediting does use the HD alot, but when every last MHZ counts your either folding or gaming. and when you game, it loads and then you play, so the processor is being used to it's fullest. so processing Speed DOES in fact make a very huge difference. We will have to wait for solid state Drives befre you can jsut click it on and be into windows. and reduce load times though... Running odl Red Hat 9.0 because it's mostly used for a web server and some programing with Java and C so Red Hat was the easiest solution for what I use it for. Still learnign lots of Linux and Unix crap as I need. Windows does not load it's kernel into a page file. The page file is Used BY the Kernel.... Did anyone check out that link in my last post?
  7. You would have to be a geek to run intel. I to am a computer nerd. I have a online bf1942dc clan I play matches with, build my own computers, and I am going to College to be a Electronics Engineer. do you play Battlefield Vietnam? If so download X-fire and send me a PM, and I'll set you up, or msg me on aim. Im getting tired of DC myself after playing so much BFV, waiting for BF2 to come out. I'm a Hardcore overclocker, only limited by funds and the amount of money I spend on the Banshee. For all you CS geeks check out this link! http://www.pwned.nl Requires flash and takes a while do load, but it is WELL worth the wait. Gotta check back to this post and see what you guys think I feel the opposite abotu AMD vs Pentiums. You can pump alot more voltage into an AMD chip, let it run hotter without problems than in Intell. Then again I have only been overclocking for years so what would I know about ISDS (intell sudden death syndrome) I buy whatever give mroe bang for the buck and overclock the shit out of it. Running an AMD 1700+ and a 333MHZ N-force2 board (the old chipset ones not made for 400) and have the CPU running 200x12 or aproximately @ 3200+. Bought an ATI 9800 np (after having 4 nvidia 4600 cards fry for no particular reason ) and flashed it to a pro. machines are not constrained by HD's all that much, only durring load and access. AFter everything is in your 1 GB + of memory you can run for hours at high speeds. Just graduated with a degree in Comp Sci, run my own website off my linux server as well as host all my pictures for the HQ on there Damn I'm Fuckin L337
  8. I believe in God, but you have to go way back in history and study it well to understand how the Christian faith started and that will answer your question . I no longer believe in everything, christianity has changed so much since it started I don't know that anyone can really say exactly what is good and bad, as circumstances, the way of life in general, and the reasons behind some of the beliefs have changed so much... From my understanding of evolution, there are always mutations in nature over thousands and hundreads of thousands of year. When the mutations are bad those species die off, if the mutations are good, then those species will have an easier time living. It's more complicated than that due to dominant and recessive genotypes, gender specific alielles (Spelling), thats why it takes so long to evolve.
  9. I have a Noss head. the Wicked head looks awesom if you want to pay the price and deal with all the extra crap. Otherwise go Noss.
  10. Tis true, I played with the needle on all kinds of different settings, got larger pilots and tried 340-380's with various clip positions on my stock carbs. Ended up gettig 33mm PWK's and all issues went away. I was jsust not able to get it to run properly with the stock carbs with the 12-port. soon as I got rid of the stock garbage it ran perfect. Was well worth all the money I spent now and I don't have issues anymore. Ditch those stock carbs or you will have a huge headache. Are both sides firing the same? I sounds to me like you need to make sure your working on the right parts... Or does it simply smoke more out of one side? When you had the head off the second time did you check to make sure it was not slightly warped? Need a better description of the problem really...Mine did run with stock carbs but would break and sounded like shit WOT no matter how large of main jets I put in and where I had my toomy needles set at.
  11. there was a guy on ebay a while back selling billet intake, with no boost bottle tube for like $80 something $ PM me if you need his info. Thats what I'm running with my 33's. It seems to move the carbs back slightly too. he put a damn shiny finish on it.
  12. So then your sure it's not leaking coolant? Mine had lots of white smoke when the head was leaking. Much easier to fix than case gasket leakage. Does it spit coolant up, or are you running low on case oil?
  13. have not had any problem with my clear hoses yet? THey were hard as shit to get on, and after you clamp them down with the clamps they should not pop off.....???? well maybe if something is wrong or you pinched one...they do seem to kink a bit easier when they are new.
  14. have you played with the main jets? When does it misfire, WOT, idle, Mid? I had a similar problem running stock carbs and a 12-port.. Changed to Billet Intake, V-force reeds, 33mm PWKS running 48 pilot and 168-172 mains sea level (Ocatillo testing glamis)...200 might be rich I dunno Im not a banshee expert.....Definately unplug everything from your thumb throttle down... That was mu problem
  15. That is what is so cool about this motor , You can actualy ride it around that way. when i first got jims engine in my bike, me and a buddy whos a guru on built yamahas started jetting it.... we left the 50's jim supplied and rode it then we dropped the pilots and it started to cackle so we went the next size up on the mains and reinstalled the 50's and it just fuckin ripped from top to bottom, but wouldnt idle (jim even told me it wont want to idle) and i tried adjusting the 34's idle adjust to no evail........ i run a 1/4 turn twist so when i start her to warm i take up the cable slack at the throttle, then as im riding i relax the slack and just blip the throttle to keep her running, its hard to hit whoops with no play in the gas peddle, but too me the first 7500g's of my power band is where its at, jim understood that and built my motor accordinly, id like a smooth idle, but would never trade it for arm snapping accelaration, that little bit of hesitance on the down low would fuckk my game on the track...... I had this roblem at first, found out I had to unplug the old cable that goes from the Thumb Throttle to the TORS unit, after that it idled perfectly.
  16. I have Jim's 12-port which is different than his stroker, but I have PWK 33's and the 48 pilot idles fine, Starts on first kick...I had a 168 for the mains and it look like it was race jetted (White all the way down to bottem then a small brown ring. I put in some 172's and also bought some 170's jsut to be safe, if it does not bog thats where I'll leave it. But I didn't make the Glamis trip last weekend because the guy I was supposed to meet up with shot himself with a nailgun or someing So I have not had a chance to test it out. I also have more restrictive pipes... I love jetting these carbs with clamp ons, 100x easier than with my stock carbs TORS and the airbox! Supposed to go to Corral Canyon this weekend and the alt is around 3000 feet higher, so I'll probably end up re-jetting again. And switching my tires back....What a fucking waste of time!
  17. I used to run it until it started plugingup my pipes (FMF Fatties) with carbon, afer 3 trips I had more carbon build up than 4 years of yamalube, I could not get the bike to run properly with the stock carbs after the 12-port though so it may have been part of the problem, but have since switched to MC1, just dump it in and your mixed for 5 gallons...no problems so far. 927 will protect your motor but it can be anoying sometimes IMO, like when your trying to scrape the build up off your pipes...
  18. I ended up getting the X5's for a raptor, but I swear they wre almost identical to the banshee bend bars, and they were the color I wanted Also got Tag Grips and FASST Vibration Dampeners and SDD Saftey wired my grips to the handlebars. Thanks again!
  19. does this work better than vibration dampeners? yo fill the whole thing with silicon ?
  20. when I piped mine I went down a tooth, and then up 2 teeth to a 15 after I ported it. I prefered the 13 tooth in the dunes but gear up for the flats....And Learn to start in second.
  21. Man that sucks. No way to learn how to ride a bike Seriously, get well soon and we can go ride the Shees around. Glad everything is ok.
  22. did you alredy clen the airfilter? it's its dirty it could be your problem...ditch the stocker before you go riding anymore if thats what your running, or you will be sorry! Mine came with a 210 main jet in it with stock pipes and filter. I kept the filter for 1 whole trip....
  23. K&N's are NOT that bad....They need to be replaced when they wear out is all... Of course you have to use outerwears not just a straight K&N...I don't think anyone in my groop other than those running stock filters use foam and non of us have problems...Manyrecomend foam for dirt riding though. People go with the two into one once they ditch the stock airbox for reasons such as larger carbs typicaly, other than that the stock airbox without lid is probably about the same. The foam vs K&N is and will always be a huge debate on this forum. There are downsides to foam also, like crap working it's way inside the filter like grass seeds etc (as someone mentioned) and less airflow, but both will eventually need to be replaced as they wear out. they also sell a pre-charger for the top of the Airbox....Or there is a straight K&N top for the stock Banshee airbox also, but getting through 2 K&Ns seems restrictive to me.
  24. I'm thinking about swinging by Alba later on today to get some X5's and wanted to know what grip to get. I gave up on the $300 pair because I'm going to need a new swingarm next season, and because a custom billet adapter would be needed adding to the cost. But my stock bars are bent and these use the stock thickness so I can use them with my Illuminators without having to make a special mount. http://alba.buyol.com/Group/H598NOF3RD1P568S.htm Lists their bars and grips... Night ride at Glamis in a week and no bitch to stop me from going!
