  1. any ideas what to use for the Megellan Pocket GPS?
  2. not all new cranks need to be welded since they are not pressed together to begin with.. I called duncan when I got my 12-port I had the crank in my hand they said they would not weld it unless I allowed them to install it. $150 is alot for a crank weld too... Then Again Duncan Racing pisses me off every time I go in there shop. They refered me to SamCo since it was not worth their time.
  3. Me too I think My Banhee would pull itself straight up a vertical sand dune it iw was possible to climb 90deg without flipping over.
  4. I had mine done at SamCo before they closed, the welds cracked before I even installed it. I heard it does not matter though, cause they still keep the crank from sliding apart. Cost me $90 and they threw in some toomy needles. you will also need a Seal Kit. About $20-30. If I was going to have it done agian I would have shipped it to Jim @ Passion Racing Engines. He uses special rod material that does not crack and holds up better in the long run. I don't think you will find any local shops that will use this stuff plus they are way too expensive. I'm sure you can find someone to weld it, it's the truing equipment that not many people have. Veys told me all my bearings were shot cause they had too much play and wanted to charge me about $300 to rebuild a crank that is not worth rebuilding. Duncan Racing would not weld it unless they re-installed it into my case for about $4-500! Scribs said he coudl do it but he just had them done my Duncan or some other shop and his price was too high also. If you replace it might as well replace it with a stroker motor and modify the head to work for a 4 mil stroke! Oh yea, I asked SamCo about the play in my bearings and they showed me a new one that had the same amount of play in it, so I guess Veys was just trying to get me for a new crack...No Problems so far!
  5. Actualy Rocky Mountain was cheaper with shipping vs Jim's with Tax. Jim helped me out with some info though, but I was not going to have time to swing by his shop. This was for 8 paddle extremes on black lable douglas, perhaps other products vary. I think I saved like 20 $ I can't remember exactly I can looks later if you like. Shipping was $25 from RMATV. Anyways, prices were very competitive for a walk in shop.
  6. dosent make sense to me, but I do see how oval would be stronger than round since it is closer to a rectangle.
  7. WTH is a Reed Block? All I have is a Reed Cage, Manifold, and Carb. You are refering to putting them between the reed and the manifold I think? To move the carb away from the clutch cable arm. I got my Carbs used and the bolt was ground down on the bottem to clear the arm without any expensive spacers. (anyone else feel these are ridiculously expensive for what you get?) Only trouble is I have to remove 4 screws to remove the bottem of the left carb rather than the uhh 14mm? on the bottem. So it is liek jetting stock carbs on that side, only it is still easier cause no TORS.
  8. you mean Sand Skate II's? Those are much lighter than Sand Stars, they are less agressive, but also spin much easier due to both weight and less agressive paddles. Unforutnately now that my shee has more than pipes I feel your pain with them not hooking up enough. I'm switching to 8 paddle extremes now but I'm not sure I'm going to like the straight paddle design. I love the ability to easily slide the rear end around while riding across steep razorbacks sideways. I would LOVE the Sand Stars, if they were as light as Sand Tires Unlimited, or Skat-Track. They are a good duning tire though and from what I sceen they do hook up well. I'm not sure but I think both sand stars and Skate II's have Taller Paddles than the Skat-Track Edges. I would not look to skat Track for the V-blade myself as I do not think they recomend them for high HP manchines. If your not concered with weight and you don't want a straight line tire you might try the sand Stars. If you want to go fast in a straight line defintaely go with some version of the Haulers. My Skate II's still work after 5 years of riding man these thigns lasted forever.
  9. No theya re only Billet aluminum, However you could pony up some cash and have them Annodized HA Type III in black... Hard Annodizing holds up amazingly well, beats the hell out of ANY paint or PC and soft annodizing like found on maglites and probably 99% of other Banshee parts (heads liek the Noss head, and Brake Resevors and drain plus etc). Trouble is it only come sin Black and Natural, no blue red etc...It's more of a flat black or Nat Color, not typicaly as shiny as HA Type I and II but MUCH mroe durable...I think it would actualy look pretty Bad ass!
  10. That has to do with a small transistor or capacitor (works as a filter) or something like that that should be attached to your alternator. Not all new alternators come with these so you have to make sure to add it. it is like a couple $ item. http://www.sacskyranch.com/altnoise.htm
  11. I have those too but only in my dreams! yup another useless post we really need a drooling smilie
  12. here is me landing one with a blown rear shock will post more later. NewYears2001
  13. why would you want his work? especialy with all the new options out there.- or is this a joke?
  14. I'm in the same boat only I should have around 70HP rear wheel. From some research it seems many people over tire their bikes. 10 paddle sis WAY to much for a stock piped Shee! (Yes it will work but you will go faster with less paddles) I'm probably going to go with 8 paddle extremes, and I'm going to toss them on 4.5 lb black lable douglas, blue lable is a little lighter 4 lbs each, but I bent a rim somewhat and plan to do more jumping next season. My Friend Run's 9 paddle extremes on his bike which is close to the same setup as mine, so I guess we will see which is better. If you have 60HP I would suggest the 8 paddle extreme Waiting on my +2 swinger to help me through the whoops and to keep the front down, Have a really hard time with a stock swingarm and this much power at the hill.
  15. I hope you don't plan on getting your A-arms anytime soon. (specialy if you want chrome ones) I been waiting 9 weeks for my QS Swinger. TCS has both the Sag Controll Shocks tripple rates, and the dual rate's without the sag....
  16. I prefer the Ricky Stator one piece Solid Billet lights myself. If your going to get the trailtech make SURE to get the double isolation ones..
  17. Stay AWAY From the Lectron carbs. My Friend had one and swears it was the Hugest Hunk of shit carb he has ever used, Even sent it back to the factory 2x because it would leak and they were unable to fix it or replace it. And he bought it new! Ended up throwing it in the trash and losing his money. I would just get the right size PWK's and neeldes as Jim Recomends I have 33's on mine and I'm lovin it.
  18. Make sure to bring some Visine, to wash my roost out of your eyes...
  19. I will be out there for the 19-21 Arrival time should be around 1 am on the 19th See you out there! I'm probably camping with Wallrat's group but I'm sure I'll be around Will be good to see you all again. Oh wait, that is if my truck is running decent, I barley made it to work this morning...
  20. If you take one of those test cleans and drink a bunch of water they will either pass you or reject your test as too diluted and give you another test buying you maybe a week or so time. As for drugs funding the terrorists, In Cali I think pot funds mexico if anything outside of the US. Some companies screen 100% of their new hire tests.
  21. yea it might be lean then, need to use fresh plugs and do a WOT test.,, You might be rich on the needle and lean on the Main. etc
