  1. Damn NYUK your sig is fucking awesome! The dirt or sand will wear down your rings or cylinder walls is all, if you don't catch a ring or blow your topend, but hey what can ya do? Eventualy going to have to rebuild it anyways
  2. mine does this too sometimes no idea why. Check to make sure your pilots are not plugged. Why does only 1 cylinder have packing in it? Maybe thats the problem?
  3. I still need to chop a little more off, But I think you ment they point forward like the front of mine do?
  4. I like FMF Fattys better than T5's they make more power throughout the power band except the very top where the T5's make 2 HP more. they also tend to work better than T5's with porting from what I have sceen in Dynos. I do liek the Toomy silencers better though. And no1 mentioned Shearer Pipes either my 2 fav's not mentioned I would take Shearer anyday over CPI or ummm even rockets ....Shearers are great performing pipe although they don't look as good to me as CPI or rockets they have awesome performance especialy witha heavily ported Banshee (might not be so great stock, but neither will CPI's or Rockets). I'm trying to afford a set right now.
  5. get a factory Yamaha Clutch, it's like $35 (it's adjustable and good as any). Ditch the Parking Brake complealty and get the blockoff I could not believe how long I rode with the stock clutch after getting the factory one.
  6. i got the TCS made all the difference int he world now I can tell how bad the fronts are.
  7. Really? I think there would be a difference in brands for anyone who like jumping. Land on the rear left or back wheel only with a +4 axel you are at a much higher risk of bending something.
  8. I would run the K2, But I refuse to pay that much for a premix oil.
  9. Depends on your motor and mods and riding style but in most cases I have sceen the Shearers are better performing pipe. Quality: I have never sceen rockets up close they look like decent quality and finish but I'm not sure about the silencers form what I have read. Shearers, I sceen some that were perfect chrome job and others that did not look as good although they both looked pretty damn good (is there different options available). The silencers on the Shearers are rivoted shut with soft rivots which kinda sucks. (Not sure about the rockets) I do like the stance of the Shearers WAY better than the rockets which make it harder to change sparkplugs and they seem to stick out more too, the shearers make it easier to fit Clamp on Pods too. Less of a Leg Burner pipe. Just my opinion.
  10. amsoil is good stuff... Honestly my motor looked pretty clean with the Yamalube (Didn't you think so Jim?) But if your running high HP the Yamalube isn't going to cut it... I sceen SDD's motor with 1 more year than mine had on it, and it looked a bit cleaner and better. What oil was in there? MC1, cheap ass synthetic...You can run the castor 927 if you want, I did not like it, it gummed up my motor within the first few trips. I also chiseled some caked on oil out of my pipes...It was a but rich but I don't think I will run it again. I think the idea with oil is to get decent protection at a good price....if you spend and extra $200 between teardowns your not really saving money...I was impressed with the protection of MC1 and continue to use it...H1R seems to burn a little cleaner but it's more money and I don't know which is actualy better in my racing motor. 927 smells awesome though! Especialy if you have a coolant leak! I have some pics of my motor after 2 or so trips on it with 927 PM me if you want to see.
  11. Ill probably get one too but I think Lonestar is better.
  12. those carbs are too big unless you have a stroker or are ported, you should have kept the stockers...They will run but you are going to loose some low end. You would be amazed what that needle position will do... Also it does sound like your mains are off with such large carbs maybe you need a smaller main than with stock carbs. Get it to run good WOT then play with the needle...
  13. I have ridden ont he strreet before, jsut up and down it a few times to test out some jetting...Damn Was I sketching...But not helmit , ont he highway, and speeding lol...I guess he could have been drinking too...THe place you need that helmit the most in is on street...It's more like WTH were you thinking!
  14. Your going to need to get a weekend off this summer so you can go to pismo. I never been and you have. So you gotta let me try! Shocks,,, Pegs,,, Lucky!
  15. my carbs came with cut springs, thumb still gets tired every now and then... OMG! Dude! Your banshee says HONDA on it! Leaving coild on the carbs makes it harder actualy...your creating less pressure on the spring. Typicaly less coil springs are made of thicker material or stiffer material. In this case it works....it does NOT make the thumb stuffer.
  16. I used to amoke piped preds with a piped banshee, I rememebr the last time I even bothered racing one was right before my shee lost all it's compression and I handed him his ass after he tried to race a friend of mine that was still learning to ride who didn't even wanna race. Those things are slow...Probably rather have one than a rappy though.
  17. just run race fuel it's only $1.50 mroe than pump gas anyways...it's not like your feeding the banshee 100's of gallons of gas! and even then! Hell race fuel is 4.70 a gallon....pump is $3.000 a gallon wtf difference does it make... maybe you shoudl sell the banshee and get a 450 if gas is that scares in dem parts.
  18. ok dude, change the fuel, clean out the fuel petcock. take the crabs apart and poke a wire form a twisty tie through the pilots and make sure nothing is in the mains... Sounds to me as if you got a piece of sand in there. Could be something slipped throught he fuel filter your probably not running, or through the diry K&N you probably had on there. peace. If thats not it do a leak down test....! how are you jetting this thing, if it is really fat it coudl also cause a misfire but probably not a backfire... and yes im drunk I htink if it was the CDI you would have different problems... fuck man change the jets while your in there if you tink it needes em...13 years you should know this shit!
  19. I jet my banshee by how many bike lengths in front of the cammed and piped 450 I am....My ported banshee sucked ass untill I got bigger carbs...I could not beat 450's either then all of a sudden they are asking if I have a stroker n shit.
  20. It would be nice if it had a suspension/frame layout that would not cause bumpsteer and that truely supported Long Travel. I would also take fuel injection or at least powervalves as a standard. Everything else is replacable.
  21. Hey Brooke, I'll give you something hard to ride on. the 450's are cool, but I don't like the riding position I'm like bent over the entire time and I don't like it. Thats fine in a race but when your cruisin the dunes I think it would get a little old if I just wanted to sit up for a few minutes. I would get tired of getting beat by 350 banshees and bithcing about how much I had invested into my 450 to almost win a race... That and they make one of the most annoying sounds in the world especialy when a bunch of them race up the hill at once. but thats just me. Maybe once they can get them to go faster I will think about getting one for a spare quad. BTW I have sceen it work both ways. Sceen a really modified 450R that could almost keep up with our shees untill we would pass him 1/2 way up the hill. Probably had well over 10g's into it. I also sceen YFZ's beat 450R's What I don't see if 450's beating me or Inflames Passion 350cc 12-port or SDD's stock 7 mil stroker Banshee. What I do see if alot of Pissed off people on 450's who think they can beat all banshees because they beat a few piped ones. hell one guy went up to Inflames last trip and started asking him a bunch of questions abotu what he had done. all he could say was well, it's ported and has pipes and it's not a 370 and no I don't run race fuel. The guy on the 450 told him he beats 370 banshees all the time! Both me and Inflames flew past him every single race with just poritng carbs and pipes. it wasent even close. Only way I would get a 450 would be to race MX and it WOULD be the yamaha, and then I would probably still get a 250R instead.. The one cool thing about the 450R is that it has seperate tranny oil I think. Everything else is better on the YFZ. And shit your going to have to change the oil every trip anyways....
  22. I dunno man, Might be a bad thing now but when she divorces you (which seems inevitable if you are messng around), you will be able to look back and be proud of yourself. Send the 3rd one over my way! But why get married in the first place? Wish I had your problems!
  23. cut those front fenders off. I like the T3's in chrome and they aren't leg burners.
  24. it is better to have them lined up, reduces wobble or something, you want them to pull on each side at about the same time.
