  1. For those of you who have shearer pipes and an aftermarket head, how do you keep the pipe from rubbing and gouging up the coolhead and or pipe on the left side? My friend has these and it appears there is a clearance issue. For those of you with CPI's & angled pods how do you keep them from melting your outerwears on your carbs? It appeas there is a clearance issue for people with pods, even angled ones. Looking for trading my Fatties for something else, leaning towards CPI's so far but don't want to have to go buy new outerwears every weekend. Do CPI's have more mid response than Shearers? I enjoy doing wheelies around bowls and trying to hold them up hills like olds and would ate to ruin my fun to just go a bit faster
  2. The claim really IS hard to believe since the V-force cages are proven to have more flow than stockers or even ported stockers. Plus on V-force there are more petals and appear to be made from the same stuff..
  3. thats cool man, I just thought it was interesting...so it's banshee A-arms then with longer shocks. It seems to me that is 450 shocks could be setup for banshee A-arms then it would allow for more adjustablilty since the shock is slightly longer wihtout giving you any issues of bumpsteer more than would be found with any other +2 arms.. I have the regular banshee elka elites and arms but I still have to breakem in and finsih installing them. Sounds like a pretty cool setup you have there though. I did not want to use tripple rates because they sag a bit too much on the regular arms but I have a feeling they would work well with your setup.
  4. This is a very interesting setup. so are the A-arms Semi Long travel then? or are they the same length as regular banshee +2 +1 arms? If they are the same then that would mean the shock mount is just in a different location to allow for a longer shock? but the same amount of travel on the banshee? So the shock would move more but the travel and geometry on the banshee remain the same? if so that is pretty cool, not sure what the difference would be over regular elka dual rate shocks on arms made for a banshee, but it definately sounds better than tripple rate shocks for a banshee on regular extended arms.
  5. I think you can get banshee elkas in tripple rate too but typical their dune eddition is dual rate, which is better for dune riding. Tripple rate wasts too much of the travel, but that depends what you are doing. So what exactly is the point in using 450 elkas instead of banshee elkas? looks good though.
  6. yea you can check all the coils on the stator without even pulling it out. You can jsut check them at he plug clymers tell you exactly how to do it. take a whole 5 minutes. The wires in the plug go to you CDI, the yellow and black are for your lighting. If it's not the stator then you have eliminated 1/3rd of all the electrical...Ten it's just CDI and ignition. You can test spark as described above... The Parking Brake is not stuck on right? That will cause your banshee not to idle. It might be something simple like that. most of us have replaced our parking brakes and unpluged the TORS system...I know it sounds intimidateing but if this guy knows banshee it would take him about 5 minutes to unplug your tors and screw around with the parking brake. Also I hope you didn't go runnign around with the stock air filter! Better check your air filter it's in the plastic box under the seat...The stock one tends to not seal properly and allow crap to get into your motor. Better replace that ASAP. The stock one is a POS! Need to lern to clean your filters allt he tiem anyways so why not check it out.
  7. x2 8 paddle extremes at MOST thats probably a bit too much for best results. or you can overpaddle like 80% of he people on this forum.
  8. what about the new fox airshocks they supposed to be adjustable by adding or subtracting air pressure and are light? Not much of a dragger so what do I know.
  9. I don't see anything either...for 10k it better be good! I hear it's the ONLY long travel with correct geometry...But I didn't think they were making frames anymore?
  10. $25 a month for insurance? thats cheap my quote was about 1,500 a year. And even then, at best they are going to pay you less than a new banshee so it's not like I would end up with anything near what I have now.
  11. Bring it on biatch lol.. Glad to hear everything went well for you
  12. Hmm, that really blows man sorry to hear about your trouble. Definately looks like you overheated. If you can do a leak down check make sure you don't have any air/coolant leaks after you next rebuild. also check to make sure your cylinders were bored and honed correctly (proper specs and gaps). When you checked the compression you warmed up the bike first shut it down and kicked it over with the throttle wide open right? Was the gauge reliable? Not all gauges will read the same... Also check your timing as sugested, but it does sound like you should have been fine on premium pump gas / race gas mix...sounds more like the bore/hone or new pistons were not mached up or possibly an air leak or something. When you loose pieces of the pistons and plugs it's best to split the cases, but definately check the crank to see if it is within spec..If it was a stock crank and especialy a non welded stock crank that could be your problem.
  13. they might add a little HP but they do make the throttle more responsive!
  14. I dunno but the rest of that banshee looks good.
  15. Hmm where we camp (out towards the dunes) the dust isn't too bad typicaly... Nor are there people riding all around and your definately mroe away from lights than being next to the ranger station. I jsut wanna ride I don't give a freak where lol...Only thing is at your camp you need 4x4 to camp there and not everyone has 4x4 like we do..
  16. or 6 HD springs if you have alot of power And there is also other things like Parking brake block off, throttle cable etc...
  17. Ok I was just askign cause from my experience aluminum gears always tend to wear out MUCH faster than steal ...so I don't get it.
  18. lol, no the sticker is going under the LED sign that flashes "freakOFF" over and over. mounted to the whip. I found a site that would have saved me about $70 they have a really nice catalog like rocky mountain. (1/2 as thick but nice color pics etc) Strictly electrical... They were cheaper than all the other places I went to..for example I ordered a plug for the radiator cover for $25, they had the same deal for $10, ordered my master switch for $7.50 they have it for $2.50...but I found it at wallmart for $5 lol (last place I would think to look for good switches). They also have snap in place cigarette lighters I thgouththat would be pretty funny on the banshee! Too bad I don't smoke... http://www.delcity.net/ Now to get those HIDS so I can ligh up like an X-mas tree.
  19. Ummm, Wouldent a Billet Transmition be weaker? I mean thats alot of money for something that sounds like it would wear out much faster....Especialy with a drag motor... ???
  20. if you don't overpaddle your bike you can dune fine with straight paddles...however V shape does allow you to slide around easier. They don't hook up as well though...
