  1. my stock crank started to seperate with just pipes. Your next best gain is to port or go stroker w/porting, you will need new carbs reed with that too and possibly a new head, Doing it all at once saves headache and money in the end.... Youc an do a high output stator for bright lights with adjustable timing plate for a good price from ricky stator, the gain will not be that much but you can re-use that stuff later.
  2. I got a torque wrench at Harbor Freight for $10 beat that....Good quality made in china
  3. as long as they are 35 watt or less you can run whatever lights you like (not HID). Stock Ignition is seperate from the Lighting coil on the stator though...
  4. Fattys give you more peak HP than T5's except at top throughout the band, btu T5's are better quality IMO, and give you a couple mroe HP on top. I'd pick one of those 2. Or shit just buy mine lol. Stock pipes will probably give you the msot low end, if you need lowend that bad get a 4-stroke.
  5. looks like trash to me, hell the shock tabs on the left side are not even in the same position as the ones on the right! to to mention it does not look like they woulld bolt up to the frame or anything.
  6. Nah I'm just always going so fast that if I hit the front brakes I will do a flip
  7. I moved mine to the front also, it holds extra coolant (which is also typical cooler than the coolant int he radiator). It does work up front under the nose WAY better. I notice it changes levels all the time. It also does not spill onto my pipes anymore due to the line having to go almsot up the the bars before coming out onto the pipe. That and the engine ice Personaly I like it. It's hard to tell if your coolant is full without one (without pulling off the plastics to check after every ride.) As long as there is coolant in the bottle your radiator should be full. Typicaly when you are going up a hill or going down a hill, or when your radiator gets hot the coolant expands cools off etc it needs to release coolant or suck some back in. If you run without a bottle there is a good chance your radiator is not 100% full all the time. It can spit some coolant back out but it can't suck anything back in. Same principle as on a car, if you don't fill your radiator up all the way you might not need to overflow bottle... I personly don't care about a little extra weight, but then again I ride my Banshee for long periods of time not just 10 seconds down a drag strip.
  8. I'm the oppisite, Iuse mostly my rear brakes, when I touch my front brakes I tend to slam into the handle bars. Only time Iuse my front brakes is when I need to stop from rolling down a dune backwards, or in an instance where I need to stop extremaly fast. Plus it is much easier to access the brake pedal than the lever. At least for me...
  9. if your going to put beer graphics on your banshee at least choose a good Beer. i mean why would you want your banshee to look like shit? Does it run like shit? Id rather have a Huge Penis sticker on my banshee than a bud light sticker..
  10. I guess you could inflate the second shock after you blow the first one pounding through whoops at 95mph...
  11. you can run elkas on stock a-arms, just make sure you get elkas valved for stock Length A-arms, they will require different valving than extended A-arms. If you choose to get different arms later you will need to have the shocks revalved for a couple hundered $$
  12. well if you get +2 +1 A-arms you baike will be 4 icnhes wider and 1 inch longer. if you add a +2 swingarm you are basicaly keeping a pretty normal ratio on the banshee. it would be 4 inches wider but only 3 inches longer... What I mean is, you are still increasing width more than length....not like your stretching the bike out for drag racing... I don't think you will have noticable added bumpsteer with +2+1 arms, since your not really increasing the travel of the arms, just the distance of the wheels from the frame. Long travel is another story... get the ge-force.. good enuf basicaly same thing as bendy blue, maybe a little better
  13. I'm a little confused... How would porting cause the piston to hit the dome! SOunds like a problem with the domes or the head...
  14. My guess is you will be ok on premium pump gas depending on compression. 50/50 mix at most. SS pistons are for stock port, I would Definately run Weiscos!
  15. I got the Modquad extender, works great! don't be afraid to move the assembaly around a bit on the handlebars. Some have even removed the plastic spacer thing
  16. Sound like a problem with the Parking Brake/ TORS to me... Try engauging and disengauging the Parking brake...Better yet Buy a new clutch lever like the yamaha factory lever for like #30 and a parking brake block off, and be done with it. The engine won't correctly run if it thinks the parking brake is engauged. Usualy the left side chokes out first so it might start with some trouble but it will sputter, pop and die if you try to take off...could do it to the right side though too... If you screw with the parking brake enough it might start. (on handlebars or on the brake itself (mounted to rear brake hub). Otherwise it's likely a problem with the carbs (plugged Jet), is it missfiring or backfiring? Make sure the crossover tube & make sure the choke tube (connects the 2 carbs together) are installed and have good seals.
  17. Also don't mix up the Elka Dune Shocks and Dune Eddition Elites... The Dune eddition elites have different valving for dealing with chop. Typicaly other manufactures use a self sagging spring or their High Speed Compression valving to take out the chop, but with the dune eddition you don't decrease your travel like with a self sagging spring, and the high speed compression will still absorb the chop well but will also take the hit from a big jump. Course if you don't ride dunes then ignore this post.
  18. I like this one way way more, if I had my choiseof bumpers I would get it, but I didn't want to spend that much on a bumper... http://www.quicksandmotorsports.com/access...bumperlarge.jpg http://www.quicksandmotorsports.com/large/5.jpg
  19. get a nice 4x4 truck after all you own a banshee...
  20. Guess you never been to Fat Burger or In N Out.
