Yea I have been looking but everyone on this site wants to much..about $50 less than a brand spakin new one in that nice cherry red color I want. Problem is most frames for sale don't have a title, and if I got a used frame it would make life sooo much easier getting it registered. If I buy new I will have to jump through some loops but probably not too many... My Patience is running out and I doubt I will find a frame that is a 2000 or newer in good condition with title for much less than $500 shipped. I mean I have been looking but everyone wants almost as much as I can snag a new frame for..

I split the cases today and found the crank bent
Justintoxicated replied to GSXKID's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Did you bend it messing with the flywheel or something? If you want a stroker now is the time to do it -
I was just about to buy a set of CPI's cause the chrome on shearers sucks, what can I do to make sure I get a good set?

Thanks for the Reference I'm in Cali, No greasing them does not keep them from freezing up in the sleeve. The grease goes on the outside of the sleeve (between sleeve and Tubing on the arm) when you use the zerks. I did put some grease inside the sleeve, but you have to remove the arms to press the bushing and tubing out to do this.

Illegal's day off
Justintoxicated replied to PUSH THE THROTTLE's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Yep pretty much all fast food places up here are mexicans, can't say they are all illegals though,Ii doubt it... Then again they are the majority of the population in LA. And now the Black people are fighting with them over what? Fact is that most of the jobs the illegals have are jobs that you and I wouldnet want anyways, and they are getting underpaid to do them. But I do believe the boarder should be shut down we can't allow this to continue after 9-11. Living in LA I definately need to learn spanish, I think English is a second language up here. -
What Oil To Run In The Crank Case?
Justintoxicated replied to ajsproaudio's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Just get Bel Ray Gear Saver 80 or 85 weight. I just changed mine after a few desert trips and that shit still looked brand new. I also notice ALOT less shaving on my Magnetic drainplug since I changed over from Golden Spectro over a year ago, and my clutch slips less as well. Wish I had been using this stuff all along. I order it from RMATV once a year. -
Does chroming them keep them from freezing up in the sleeve (forgot the word for this). I'd rather find stainless ones I know they are not going to be cheap. I think I was talking to Russ actualy and he said they would be like $20 each! but well id pay it after what I had to go through last time. I wish I could find a cheap chrome shop around here I might consider going that route but I'm not ab out to fork out $100 to chrome my nuts
-
Yea you are right, still jsut paid mroe for inferior bolts. I found this chart http://home.jtan.com/~joe/KIAT/kiat_2.htm But I guess im not going to worry about iot since the good stuff is not available anymore anyways. For Footpegs and motor mounts though, it would be nice to have the stronger bolts.
-
Thanks BB if A2 is grade 2 that pretty much sucks i missed teh alloy boltz kit then. I'm sure they will work, but they won't be nearly as strong as the grade 8 stuff Just sucks since they actualy cost more money than AlloyBoltz as well. But since Alloy Boltz is closed I guess I am kinda limited.
-
I went ahead and ordered this kit, a little more than allyboltz so it better be good since it has less parts.. Do you know what grade the bolts are? Do you know where I can get some footpeg bolts / Upper A-arm Bolts / and screws for the plastics in stainless?
-
I tried to order from Alloy Boltz as it shows they still have some kits in stock but when it says payment method there are no options listed so I guess they are compleatly closed. Guess I will have to get the ebay kit then I hope it is not a POS..

your right BB, but DLS Iridiums / Nobelium are right up there in SQ IMO better than focal, I can't afford the seas / rainbow high end stuff, but I got a hookup on the DLS. I wouldnet pay the 1000 for the front I have either, but since I get a deal Not really a fan of infinity Kap comps they pretty much suck compared to alot of other stuff. DLS amps are supposed to be pretty good, but they are too large to work with for my truck, at least I would prefer something smaller, and I'm not sure I really need A/B amp for the sub since I don't really want to upgrade my truck alternator just yet either. I also heard Arc Audio amps are some of the best out right now but I have not heard either. I love my components (Iridiums) and would love to try the new Nobeliums but I think they retail at about $1800 for the 2-way set...ouch... http://www.dls.se Wanted to add I will never buy anotehr Bandpass box again either, they are the absolute worst when it comes to Sound Quality, they don't even cover teh entire sound range and emphesize certain parts. Maybe for a Db Comp, but for good sounding nope. (not to say my JL's in bandpass didn't sound better than some other subs I heard in sealed boxes )
-
The only ones I'm considering right now are DLS Neodiums, Iridiums or Adire Kodas. Almost could fit some ARC Audio subs. I have to have something with good SQ that will sound better than a W6 but fit in 1/3rd the space... If I wasent space limited then I would definately be getting the new RE XXX. But that might be too loud for my taste. Fuck all that JL, Alpine Type R crap. And a BIG FU to SONY Explode.. All about SQ for me,im tired of my old JL system that just made alot of noise.

Illegal's day off
Justintoxicated replied to PUSH THE THROTTLE's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I work less than 1/2 a mile from the center of the LA protest one street farther down Wilshire and LaBrea (I work on corner of Wilshire and Hudson), since they closed my office due to the Protest I had a nice 1/2 day as well. It was weird seeing my office on TV... I don't think deporting the Illegas back to mexico will help us very much when we are paying almost $100 for a tank of gas, and burning it all up in heavy LA traffic. I know I paid about $68 for 3/4 tank of gas and thats for the cheap ass 87 shit...Glad I'm not paying for premium right now, but starting to wish I had bought a little 4 banger car instead of my Titan. Trip down to San Diego for me is over $100 for me. my Girls car can get there and back off $35. Man that shit adds up fast. At this rate teh economy is going to fall apart pretty soon...as it it is costs about 3 times more to go get a jumbo jack, than it does to buy one. Anyways, there is a big difference between Immigrant and Illegal in my book. Most of the people Protesting were friends/family of illegals. Course most of the ones they interview on TV were speaking in spanish so I have no fukin clue what they were saying. I'm just suprise so many of the legal immigrants from mexico were supporting their illegal friends when they had to wait in line themselves and did things the correct way. (or maybe their illegal parents had them here making them legal so they are supporting their parents?) LA sucks... -
Couldent I buy some cheap white paint and clear coat with flex added, Sand the plastics by hand, and jsut paint them? I have some small cracks in the front of my plastics (lip bear bumper) from my accident so I'm not ready to dump hundreds of dollars into a paint job for them lol. If I spent too much on it I would not want to ride it! I it will get sand blasted to shit after the first ride... I Sceen walts bike in person and it was bad ass, but I don't have that much money to dump into paint. I jsut want to whiten them back up, and I have an airbrush available if automotive paint is the way to go, even if it flaked off it would just be white underneath, I just want it to shine a bit mroe and look newish. sand4ever that looks good but I can't see myself getting anything like that. Need money for frame and motor as well

Guess so, it is sad I just read this post now as well, he is not the one from this forum that was selling bolt kits was he? They are sold out of the Foot Peg kit and Lower motor mount kits
-
That sucks, I think I'm going to get this kit though. Is the polished kit really worth teh extra $$? Or Would I be better off with the regular kit + the extra bolts Engine and footpegs. There was another guy fromt his forum who gave me his information and said I could order a kit and he could subtract the cost of some allen head bolts I alreay had, but I lost his information when I threw 1/2 the crap in my room out... Does anyone know of a place that sells the upper A-arm bolts? I boughtanother set of stock ones but really don't want to use them because I know they will likely freeze up int he sleeve like my old ones did eventualy. And that made taking off the stock A-arms a very painful process. I was ready to just cut the arms in 1/2

Same pipes off the bike (carefuly laid on ground because I was in a hurry taking these!) Silencers Tm Designs Clamps Closeup of rust spot. The bottom of the pipes are discolored from use, I had tried to spray some metalcast ground coat over the rust spot to stop it from spreading (since it was not in an obvious spot, but most of it came off or turned gold as you can see in the pic or fell off. There is also some rust on the close up pipe under the Hanger Bracket and along the weld (guess FMF forgot to Nickle plate that part as good as the rest...) Also not shown are a few marks from where the pipe springs rubbed one of the pipes. Over all they are in good shape just some cosmetics, luckily in places that are not the most noticable. They are used pipes so these things just happen over time, especialy with nickle plating. But they don't look too bad installed, better than no nickle plating at all
-
So spray cans are the way to go? I have worked with duplicolometalcast MANY times it actuly holds up on the plastics? Do you paint just the top or both sides? I have an Airbrush and compresser I kinda wanted to try out but if cans are the way to go one less thing I will have to learn.

Not to Threadjack but mine is bent as well. My subframe is destroyed (cracked the tubing bad and bent it) One of the bolts that holds the bumper now threads in at a 45 deg angle (whatever it threads into is tweeked inside the frame) My steering stem support is is bent off by about an inch. I want to Either fix, get a detachable subframe and PC the frame $$ Or buy a brand new frame for $500. What is the better option? Can these things be bent back perfect enough and gusseted or would I be better off buying a new frame rather than invest more $$ into the one I have (registration will be a PITA though)
-
I want the info I'm thinking about repainting my white plastics whiter to get some shine back and cover up some marks. I don't want to spend nearly that much though, maybe $50 or so tops. Might paint the other plastic (fuel tank cover) to match?

If you have Low end pipes, stock gearing and heavy ass tires. I think it is likely that he will stomp you. The way I see it... A boost bottle is just for decoration and Toomy is foam filter that flows less than a K&N, +4 timing will help some but not much and Boysen Reeds are probably not giving you anything other than slight improvement in throttle response since your using stock carbs and no porting. So your only real performace mods are Low End Pipes. So Yea I would think a built raptor could beat you pretty easy. Especialy if you have really heavy tires, since extra tire mass affects your acceleration about the same as 10x regular mass, so if your tires are 10lbs heavier than stock it would affect your acceleration about the same as adding 200lbss to your bike. If you were on sand an d lightweight paddles you would have a better chance. If you had some porting and some different pipes you would easily walk him.
-
I used teh K&S kit before, I look at getting new bearings but it was going to cost as much as a new crank (stock crank) so I didn't do anything as far as replacing them, If they seem fine I would not replace teh bearings unless you can get tehm cheap. But definately replace the seals.
-
Well yea because the craftsman loosened it up a bit I used a craftsman holesaw bit to drill a hole in my computer case. It was destroyed after the first hole. I was kicking myself for paying 3x more than the ones at lowes...

Man your going to be blinging if we go to pismo this summer
