  1. Are these the ones with the steel insert or the older style with the pinch bolt? Chase I'm either looking for a matching set, or one stock one.
  2. Well I have a slightly bent rear wheel hub so I'm looking for something to replace it. Or a set of Better hubs if I can't do it cheap.
  3. Going to Other Forums if no1 wants them and / or ebay. I really don't want to seperate the clamps.
  4. I need a right rear Brake hub, please PM me if you have it available.
  5. I think your wrong. period. Show me a shock company that is going to drive their ass out to Cali to custom valve a shock for someone who isn't even pro or a sponsored. They did not "Grab it out of the back" they custom ordered it from elka. They had shocks in stock that did not suite my needs. When I got the box it was marked with the things I requested. Your basicaly saying that less than 1 % of the population of riders has good shocks thats a bunch of BS. I can adjust the High speed dempening low speed dampening etc right on the shock, no realy need to "send it in to someome" unless I need to have something majorly changed like if I gain 30 lbs. Again I don't know of a single person willing to come out and custom valve a shock for me in the middle of the desert. but I don't have the off the shelf shocks that most store sell where the only difference is the springs. The shocks I have are already setup with a different high speed dampening solution made to take the dune chop and give less fatigue. So they are not COMPLEATLY custom by your definition but they are the one size fits all either. Your crazy if you think the only difference from one elka to the next is the sticker on them. I doubt they would still be in buisness if the Documentation provided, Advertising, etc was all bulshit.
  6. If your going to do anything with the rear shock you may as well have it re-sprung and revalved, or yes you can order an aftermarket one for more $$, but the stock one is pretty good if you re-work it. If your planning on adding an extended / or shortened swingarm you should do it at the same time to avoid having to have it re-sprung & valved for the new arm later. Your probably looking at $300-1000 depending on how extrme you want to go, and wether or not you want to work with the stock one or replace it with an aftermarket.
  7. Back to fist page, If you find this annoying you can stop me from bumping the thread by purchasing these pipes at a good price
  8. get dual rates if you want them for jumping, on the stock banshees or even with +2 arms the shocks are too short for a 3rd spring to make much diference and will basicaly jsut lower the ride heigth and give you less usable suspension (for jumping). Triplle rate on the banshee is more for MX. That said tripple rate should still work fine if your MUST have it.
  9. Those are not the questions they asked, LOL. I don't know of any companies willing to come out to watch me ride for 2 days to build me a shock. I'm sure it would be expensive for wasting so much of their time, not like I'm a world pro or anything and they are my sponsor. When I say custom valved this means they did not just ask for my weight and arm length and go in the back and bring some out... I have also bought shocks from TCS, and was not asked as many questions as I was for my elkas, they were valved well though. But TCS did not come out and watch me ride either Slayer, Reason everyone is on your case is simply because most of us wait till we have the cash and do it the right way the first time. It's your money so do what you want. I waited 5-6 years before I could afford suspension. Dunedeamon is a respected member on this forum as well. You don't have to take his advice but sometimes the best reply is nothing at all.
  10. wtf, I can't believe I read this lame ass post, it should be closed. It's not even posted in the right forum. I would not have responded but it was already bumped to the top... EOM.
  11. I used the stuff from home depo and yea it was a bitch to get over the pump cover... Next time I will use a heat gun on the tubing first. Although I have not had any problems the tubing clouds up over time and needs to be changed. I wonder ig Tygon makes anythying that would work.
  12. I'll Keep an eye out, Don't knwo what to say. free bump to top.
  13. Thats pretty sweet, back in the day people were taking their 3 wheelers and having them converted to quads. It kind of reminds me of that, looks a bit narrow though.
  14. I can tell from teh pics you have a right and a left... Notice one has a pilot jet and the other does not.
  15. This weekend is also the Extreme Motorsports Expo In costa mesa, whatever that is...
  16. well actualy it is AC power...So I guess Black is COM
  17. haha if this comes out we can all start laughing at those hybrid ownders
  18. I don't think all elkas are generic, it just depends if you custom order them or go pick them up at a shop. I had to answer a number of questions on riding style level of experience , weight, arm length etc before tehy would custom build mine so So far I am loving the dune valving and they way I had them setup, With the elites they have enough adjustments you can tweek them to be perfect, Sredish you should have got the elites if you did not you can tweek on them all day I think the biggest problem people have is comparing some of the shelf elkas to custom valved shocks like TCS PEP Axis etc.
  19. back to the top, still for sale. Will take 350 shipped, for pipes and billet exhaust clamps. Pipes still have origional O-rings in them as well.
  20. while I agree SA needs more articles on quads I would have to admit I would subscribe again. I think I signed up for like $25 and it came with a free Chrome Lisenceplate holder that says Sand Addiction & Glamis on it, and I got a free calender as well. Actualy I got 3 of the same 3 callenders from different places at SSS. lol, but hey one for work and one for home and one just sitting in my room. I think the newest issues are better than the older ones from earlier this year, as the new ones have a much better binding (not just staples) and seem to have a little more content. I will order it again. Since it's just Yamahammer reading my issues it's all good.
  21. I love to see bruce beat the crap out of that texas ranger. Lets hope Chuck can fight better than he can act.
  22. You have Elka Quad Rates on the Banshee? WTF is the point? Even with that long travel setup is quad rate really necessary? BTW which shocks do you like better? (Not exactly fair comparison) but still. Do you think having PEP revalve the Elkas would be an ultimate shock?
  23. I needed a frame last week, where were you then?
