  1. When I stated my measurements for my bike that was considering maximum width with the suspension compressed. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
  2. Are you sure that +3 arms with 4-1 wheels = 48" ? That sounds more like 50" to me. Then with 3/2 wheels wouldn't you be at 52"? On my Laeger chassis I have the equivalent of +2" arms from OEM width with 4-1 wheels and I measure 48". Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
  3. ^^^ Don't confuse XC width with MX width... Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
  4. ^^^ Eh, what??? Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
  5. I would not have guessed that I have enough motor to justify this. I was always figuring that with the chromoly chassis that things were flexing a little more than an OEM mild steel program which was causing chain chatter. Maybe its a little of both...?? Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
  6. Good to know Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
  7. ^^^Makes sense when you think about the forces applied under load. Four seems like a better plan.
  8. You beat me too it. You were right! Clearly I have worked way too much lately... When I looked at the parts finder I saw the one for the front and assumed I needed four and ordered them. There's four in there now and it will stay that way...
  9. OEM parts finder showed two rear two front I believe. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
  10. Tricked recommended that I go ahead and replace all four rubber coated spacer/washers... Turns out I only had the rear two in place. None up front... Somewhere awhile back I some how missed reinstalling the fronts when the motor was out. I cannot find them in any of my spare junk, so I'm wondering if they were still on the motor when I sent it out to be built in 2008 and they didn't come back with it and I didn't realize they needed to be there. I think the motor has been twisting a slight bit in the frame with out the front washers. This might also explain why I felt a little sprocket and chain chatter when cornering hard under power. My bad... Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
  11. We will know next week. I wanted to install a gusset, but there simply wasn't time to get that detailed and do it 100% right. I think I figured out at least part of the reason it cracked. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
  12. Welded and painted. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
  13. What elevation do you ride now? What is your current compression? What size tires do you run at home? What gearing do you run at home? What carbs? What sized tires and type of tires do you plan to run at the sand? If you like the BIG dunes the south and west ends are awesome. The dunes at the north east end are smaller and moderate. There are two different camp sites on the south end and one at the north east end. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
  14. Looks like the kicker side rubber coated washer is worn out. The bushings feel tight still. The bolt is not bent. I cannot see any sign of the case directly hitting or rubbing the mount, just wear from the washer. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
  15. Good idea. Hadn't thought about that. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
  16. ^^^I have discovered that myself after building the bike and riding it. I'm am curious to see if the bolt is bent possibly when I pull the motor... I have been assuming that the crack is due to hard landings from big jumps, but I may be wrong. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
  17. Not an OEM bolt. Allen head stainless bolt that is the correct diameter. No slop. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
  18. Another couple pics Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
  19. More input on your thoughts of using my mig please. I am running 0.035 wire and a 75/25 mix gas. Argon/co2 (I think, does that sound right) Yes, it does have the bottom mount struts.
  20. Agreed on the beveling It is a one piece tab for both sides of the mount. Do the oem frames use two separate tabs? My oem roller is at my shop across town so I can't take a quick peek at it... I will measure the thickness later today. According to Laegers it is not an oem mount. They fabbed it from 4130. Ok, great idea. I will bring a black sharpie to cover it in black afterwards... That is a stainless allen headed bolt, grade 5. I can't remember if I cut it to length or not. Are you thinking that having it under too much pressure (tightened too much) could cause this?
