  1. No. Banks intercooler, Banks 4" ss exhaust and muffler, Banks Power Elbow, Banks Six Gun tuner plus DP 6 position tuner with custom tunes, cold air intake and the 38R turbo. Stock injectors and HPOP. We originally started with a stock turbo with the Banks exhaust housing and Banks compressor wheel. With this setup we would experience "turbo surge" while towing heavy at about 2,000 - 2,100 rpm. We then added the ATS compressor housing which helped to eliminate the surge, but it made the turbo scream like a jet engine. Cool to hear at first, a little hard on the ears on a long trip, especially towing. This hybrid turbo setup was more responsive and snappy down low, but didn't perform as well on the overall, especially towing and egt's wise as does the 38R. The 38R has a pretty strong whistle to it as well, not quite as piercing though.
  2. So are you cruising around in the new work truck loaded with form boards and rebar and a booster seat in back while trying to pickup said chicks?
  3. You do realize that the Dodge and Ram trucks would not exist today if it wasn't for the Cummins diesel agreement? That risk taken and its positive results were the only reason Dodge didn't pull the plug on its dismal truck sales prior to the Cummins offering.
  4. Apparently a lot of HQ members are Ford owners too. Thus the comments. You have yet to answer my question, Captain Deflection.
  5. Ha! You don't like it when I answer the way you would??
  6. Who traded in their previous Dodge work truck because it was starting to nickel and dime said owner with lots of little breakdowns?
  7. Who has the newest truck here that has needed front end work already?
  8. Nope! I try to avoid the computer nerd and birkenstocks look.
  9. Not even close. F1HDR wins that award by a landslide
  10. You are out of your mind. Keep it together. Save up for the 521
  11. Has it always been doggy ? Should be real snappy especially with a manual. Both of our manuals are more responsive
  12. Not necessarily. If it tests put good then it is probably fine to run for awhile longer. If it tests out questionable, then I would not hesitate to replace it.
  13. To a certain degree you're absolutely right. All mechanical stuff will have issues and eventually fail. The point that I'm making though, is that diesel emissions equipment have nearly ruined the purpose of owning a diesel. Extended engine life, better fuel mileage, ect. Like any new product, system, design, ect, there will be a trial and error period that needs to pass before they have worked the bugs out of most designs. There are thousands and thousands of early emissions compliant diesel motors out there, in every industry and sector that are ticking time bombs. If they get fixed under warranty, great, but if they fail out of warranty and prematurely, the consumer takes it in the shorts. The emissions designs are getting better, but until there is more long term solid proof and a design that will work, I'm staying away from new for awhile longer.
  14. Until they get ALL of the bugs out of newer emissions compliant diesels I will be sticking with my older trucks. All but one are paid for and the one that isn't almost is, my 08 with 6.4. It has given me more then enough issues to have learned lesson on the current new stuff. Forget monthly payments for the sake of driving "new" and being "under warranty" I'm gonna stick with what's proven to be reliable and can still be wrenched on myself if needed.
  15. Some people focus on monthly payment versus the actual amount of debt incurred. At some point in a guys life he has to address the overall debt picture.
  16. The Dmax could have easily had plenty of its own issues.
