  1. Just the screen will do it if the truck sits for too long or if your batteries are getting weak. Speaking from experience...
  2. Correct. You will also improve the bikes overall balance by doing this.
  3. My shortest answer is that the coarse St. Anthony sand just doesn't need as much paddle in the rear or as much front tire to perform when compared to the soft, fine OR sand. I do feel like the 10 Edges take additional power to turn, and they are just more responsive to the sand. They definitely grab harder. I found they would not break lose and let me do high speed power slides very easily. The Sand Stars for me simply react better and I can power slide them at speed comfortably. I almost flipped over the first time I did a high speed hard turn at St. Anthony with my Sand Star fronts. The dual ribs there turn like your on rail road tracks, almost too responsive. The Mohawks work better for me there. Go to OR sand and the Mohawks just push when you turn. The dual rib Sand Stars work really well in the soft sand. Nice performance and response.
  4. I've never run a set of straights either. I've run Skat Trak Edges, two different sets, Sand Skates and Sand Stars. I currently have 10 paddle Edges and 8 paddle Sand Stars. I found the Sand Star rears work better for me at St. Anthony then the Edges. The sand at St Anthony is relatively coarse and more responsive then the fine, soft sand in OR. My Edges do better in the OR sand. I have not been to Glamis yet. I found that my Mohawk fronts work better for me at St. Anthony. I also have Sand Star fronts. I found the Sand Star fronts are way too responsive in the St. Anthony sand, but they work really well in the OR sand. I run lower gearing at St. Anthony then in OR.
  5. Got it. When you head to St. Anthony, I would recommend coming prepared with some lower gearing, for sure a 14t front. I'd be prepared to adjust the rear too. Those dunes are big and TALL. Plus the 5,000 ft elevation will make a difference as well.
  6. Are you planning to ride mostly sand with this motor? What size tires?
  7. It turned pretty epic today for sure. Think I skipped over 40 posts...
  8. Nothing is wrong with them unless they are abused. My first 99 F350 went 115,000 towing 10,000 - 17,000 lbs DAILY. It failed because of an abusive employee... My 2002 F350 Dually has 160,000 on it now with the original tranny. Working harder and pulling heavier then the 99 did/does. Frequent trailer loads up to 30,000 lbs. Nothing g wrong with it at all. See above ^^^ Nick
  9. Mine isn't afraid to work under the hood and get her hands dirty.
  10. This ^^^ I'm just about to jump into my 99 F350 7.3 that I bought new February of 99. She's at 198,000. Still runs like a champ. It's had the balls worked off of it from the day it was new.
  11. My gut says $16-$18k. That's got a few miles on it.
  12. Hmmm.... BIL tells me all the ones he's done have been in multiple steps.
  13. I think you have to do it multiple steps for each one too?
  14. Torque, torque again, torque some more, the torque a little more. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat...
  15. Does it make a difference if you are loaded and towing versus empty?
  16. Yes, the newest 6.7s went to a new single turbo. I don't know the exact details. I've been told the early hybrid turbos had some flaws. I'm pretty surprised you're experiencing the death wobble. I have gad zero death wobble issues on my 6 different Super Duties. Sounds like your front end is out of alignment or something. What circumstances set off the death wobble? I've personally seen one Dodge truck, an early 2000's model, do it. It was loaded down with a pallet of very heavy bricks. Front end was very nose high. Thing was all over the highway...
  17. I'm assuming you still have to oem hybrid compound turbo then? Are you for reals having death wobble on that truck?
  18. Just waiting for the diesel burnout pics now...
  19. Keep us updated on your results on this. Definitely want to know.
  20. I'd definitely ride that with ya if I lived there.
  21. That's cool. Nice video. Bike sounds nice and crisp. That's a pretty sweet track. Wide open and fast. I like it!
